Yes, this is the first night that it'll be even near freezing since the spring. Thankfully we've already checked all heat sources for animals, and they are ready to go if needed!

Can someone explain the 'pacing' behavior of the bobcat on camera 1 at 1042?

Actually, she seems to be swaying back and forth, and I'm wondering if it's agitation? I'm not a feline behaviorist, but I'm curious.

Pacing in general can be related to stress or boredom, but determining which is very dependent on the exact circumstances. This Bobcat paced all the way along the wall previously, so our rehab team added more logs, branches, etc. to her enclosure to provide stimulation and somewhat block that pacing path. They've also made sure to cover up anything just outside that spot that could be catching her attention, but I don't think we know exactly why she still seems to pace in that one little spot. Our rehab team is closely monitoring and providing plenty of enrichment, though! It also helps that she has a friend now. :)

Alison, the other day I saw the Bobcat pacing in front of the door that opens into the back of the chute area. That's the only time I saw her doing it there so not sure what could have made her do that. That being said, my cat will sometimes sit for minutes staring into space and then snap out of it! Maybe it's just one of those feline things that nobody can explain...

Mornin' all! Connor, I've been watching the Bobcat closely and she isn't really pacing...it's more like head bobbing like she's following a shadow outside the LMI. I've seen my cats doing that when there's a bird outside the window. Hope this helps the rehab team a bit.

Connor, looks like you had a great book tour! Congrats!

Mornin' all and thanks to SalGal's family for sponsoring the cams for Evaluate Your Life Day. I took a poll of my dust bunnies and they all agreed that I'm spending a lot of quality time with the WCV cams! LOL
