Is there a chance they might find a facility that is looking for a young Black Bear Cub? About 12 years ago a facility in Austin, TX adopted 2 bear cubs that had been rescued from a fire in the North. (I forgot where.). I took my grandkis to see them.

If the cub were deemed non-releasable, placement may not be an option, as vision impairment can pose quality-of-life concerns for bears in captivity. Let's wait and see what the vet team finds and hope that the cub's vision improves.

I am from southern Illinois and we had them in our area, but I rarely saw one, thankfully.

Great cub update. Hope it's possible for zinger cub's vision to be corrected. And ... my vote would be to relocate the copperhead and find a more friendly snake to control the mice population
