If you are the Lakers who would you trade d angelo Russell for?
Dana Gauruder
11:02
Well, we're only 3 games into the season and they re-signed this summer, so they obviously value him at least as a rotation player. He's not even eligible to be traded until mid-December. They got him for 2 years, 36 mill with a player option, so the contract is reasonable by NBA standards. If they were to trade him, they'd probably package him as part of larger deal in February to get another star/impact player. But that's a long way off

Why is JB Bickerstaff so resistant to giving Isaiah Mobley minutes? Does he think he's going to be another Thanasis Antetokounmpo? Anyone with eyes can see he has talent.
Dana Gauruder
11:05
Obviously, he doesn't share your opinion regarding the rotation. Perhaps via injury or non-production regarding other players at his position, he'll get his chance down the road. For now, Bickerstaff doesn't regard him as one of his top 9-10 players.

Is Corey Kispert going to be a hot trade chip this season? Dude looks like the most competent and efficient scorer on the Wizards and has since last season. What does it take to get him, and where does he end up? Or do the Wiz keep him?
Dana Gauruder
11:07
We're talking about the Wizards here. Everyone is expendable at the right price. I'm sure numerous teams would be interested in adding a shooter like him at the trade deadline, especially since he's on a rookie deal. The Wizards would be looking for assets (probably at least a first-rounder) in return. That's how rebuilding teams roll.

Do the Bulls rebuild after this season (I have no hope for a deadline fire sale), or does Reinsdorf keep running his franchises into the ground? Dude has no idea what he's doing.
Dana Gauruder
11:10
DeRozan's headed for free agency unless he's extended at some point this season. I doubt it, given that he'd be a great rental for a top contender. And they're not obligated to keep Williams. If the season goes sour, I don't see how they would avoid making major changes.

Is Darvin ham on the hot seat since lebron james got into a argument during the game vs denver? If the Lakers wore to part ways with Darvin ham and who would be a good candidate for the job?
Dana Gauruder
11:11
I wouldn't read too much into that. I think you're referring to Ham wanting to limit LeBron's minutes and LeBron preferring to dictate how much he'll play. It's in the best interests of the Lakers not too overuse LeBron during the regular season. I don't think there's any major disconnect between coach and player there.

Alec Burks over Deni Avdija?
Dana Gauruder
11:13
If you're looking for a 3-point shooter and proven rotation player, Burks is the obvious choice. If you're looking for more youth, size and length, Avdija would be the guy.

Shouldn't Fox be the future face of the NBA not Ja Morant because he has no bad press and the most exciting player on the court today?
Dana Gauruder
11:14
I think VW is the future face of the NBA. Morant has some reputation rebuilding to do. Fox is an All-Star level player but probably needs the Kings to make a long playoff run  to thrust himself into the public eye.

Will the hornets make the play in or playoffs? I know it’s early.
Dana Gauruder
11:16
You're right, it's way too early. I'd feel better about their chances if Bridges was going to come back and be productive but that's not a likely occurence. As long as Ball stays healthy, they can at least hang around the play-in race. Miller has looked pretty good the first 2 games.

Do you think any of these guys get moved in December, when the majority of the league becomes trade-able again?
Dana Gauruder
11:18
Not sure which guys you're referring to. If your talking about guys who were signed as free agents this summer, some of the guys might be on the move in February. Very little happened before the Feb. trade deadline last season, partially due to the play-in tournament. More teams weren't sure whether they were buyers or sellers until then.

Odds harden is still in Philly dec 1?
Dana Gauruder
11:19
I'd say less than 50-50. Odds that it will be a distraction for the team until he's traded -- 100 percent.
Troell
11:19
Hit enter too soon but, Non Harden Guys like:  Buddy Hield, Gordon Hayward, KAT, Siakam, OG, DeMar, LaVine, DIllon Brooks - any of these guys a lock to get traded, who do you think rides it out with their current team until the end of he season?
Dana Gauruder
11:21
Season just started. As indicated above, I'd expect very little to happen before February. That's when teams who believe they're contenders get itchy to make something big happen. It's also when other teams realize they're not going anywhere and are more open to dealing stars or solid starters.

What are your thoughts on the Grizzlies signing Bismack Biyombo?  I don't see how it makes them any better, seems like a bigger body player would have been better fit.
Dana Gauruder
11:24
Haven't seen it as official yet but I doubt anything has changed, unless there's a medical concern. Biyombo is a guy you can plug into the second unit if needed and give you 15 minutes of rebouding and shotblocking. That's not going to solve the Steven Adams issue. Probably looking at a trade at some point to shore up that area, unless one of the young guys really shines.

Only 3 games in but clips look different than last year. They hardly blew anyone ou
Dana Gauruder
11:25
They've defeated 2 teams who didn't make playoffs last year but Ty has said they'd take regular season more seriously this year. Also helps to have Kawhi and P. George on the floor at the same time.

11:26
What happened with Pritchard and the Celtics? Granted it was preseason, but he was a huge scorer. Now he is fighting for minutes.
Dana Gauruder
11:28
He's averaged 12 minutes in the first two games. Holiday and White are going to get the bulk of the backcourt minutes and Brown will also play some minutes there. Don't worry. Pritchard will get plenty of time this season. They re-signed him and they don't have a lot of other backcourt options on the bench.

A lot of Grizzlies social media is panicking right now. I feel like losing the first 3 games sucks but it’s not shocking because it was 3 games in 4 days with a lot of key guys out of an already thin rotation. I don’t expect Aldama to miss a lot of time or Kennard to continue to miss from 3. Bismack Will help with rebounds and I think things will level out and then get a lot better once Ja is back. Am I being naive?
Dana Gauruder
11:32
Obviously, they'll look a lot different if Morant comes back and plays at an All-Star level. All those losses have been by single digits, including the defending champs and a Pels team with their top players in lineup. The Adams injury is an issue but if they can just go .500 from now on until Morant returns, they'll be OK.

Factually speaking lakers fans really need to get over the idea of getting Alex Caruso back right ? They made a mistake letting him go but would be a bigger mistake to trade assets to bring him back in his 30s? He does nothing to solve their real need which is some half court scoring juice ?
Dana Gauruder
11:34
They went out of their way to bring in Vincent. Let's give him some time to settle in before pushing the panic button. I don't think Reaves will be averaging less than 10 a game and shooting 30 percent much longer, either.

With Beal and Booker out at the beginning of the season and the ever present possibility of KD getting injured, how long do you think the Suns may take to gel and get any kind of consistency especially with so many new players?
Dana Gauruder
11:37
I don't see it as a long process. Booker and KD have familarity from last season. Beal may take a little longer to figure out his role but he'll be energized by playing on a true contender.
Troell
11:37
Any super early favorites to make their first AS appearance?  Maxey, Cam Thomas, Kuzma, Poole, Cade, Scottie, Desmond Bane, Jalen Brunson, RJ Barrett all showing out the first few games.
Dana Gauruder
11:39
Winning will have something to do with, as will reputation and draft status Maxey would be an obvious choice playing alongside Embiid and on a team that's been to playoffs recently. Cade has a shot if the Pistons can hang around .500 before the break. Brunson is the floor leader of a team in a huge market. Barnes was a Rookie of Year. Those are your top candidates from the group.
Keith
11:39
Why don't the Clippers move off Harden, and try and trade for LaVine? LaVine at least is locked into a contract for 3 more years unlike Harden and his 1 year.
Dana Gauruder
11:41
That would entail the Bulls moving off of LaVine, which they're not prepared to do at this point. Certainly, if the Bulls are floundering midway through the season, that could be a possibility. LaVine, when he's on, is unstoppable.
Hubert Cumberdale
11:41
Does James Wiseman have any trade value at all? I still can't believe the Pistons gave up a useful young wing in Saddiq Bey for him.
Dana Gauruder
11:44
The way I looked at that trade was the Pistons took a flyer on Wiseman but realize -- at least with the new staff -- that Duren is the better young player at that spot. Bey is a solid player but not a great athlete and they didn't want to pay him big bucks in an extension. They'll want to save that cap space for guys like Cade, Duren, Thompson, etc. But yeah, that trade wasn't one of Weaver's finer moments.
