Hello! You are not allowed to audit courses, but you can email different professors and ask them if they would be willing to meet. It's better to make an appointment with them than just knock on their door unexpectedly.

One more question: I wonder if i can visit other professors who's not an instructor of mine during the Summer Session? Is it polite to do so to just knock on their office door or is it that i have to make appointments in advance? Because some of their research topics really appeal to me very much.

I would say from Manhattan, you should take Metro North Commuter Train from Grand Central to New Haven's Union Station. Train info can be found here: https://new.mta.info/agency/metro-north-railroad You would take the New Haven line. you can take an Uber or Lyft fron Union Station to the check in if you are living in on campus housing. There is also a Yale Shuttle from Union Station in New Haven: https://your.yale.edu/work-yale/campus-services/yale-transit/shuttle

You can read the options here: https://summer.yale.edu/prepare-come/travel-information. Go Airport Shuttle though is the most convenient. You should book it in advance and select "Phelps Gate" on the Yale campus as your drop off. It is short walk to check in from there.
