Welcome to the final Steelers chat of the regular season. As a programming note, Paul Zeise is a late scratch, but North Shore Drive podcast host Christopher Carter will be joining us this afternoon to guide you through Week 18. The table is set ... Steelers don't need a win, but it would certainly help. And they play against a bunch of backups in Baltimore. Kickoff in about 15. Here we go.

Cannot help but wonder if we would need to depend on a team losing to make the playoffs had Canada been fired during our break weekend, and Tomlin tried out Rudolph sooner.  Seems like when we had nothing to lose Tomlin quit living in his fears or swollowed this pride and let Rudoplh start.  If Rudolph has a good game today, will the Steelers be willing to pay him what it would take to be a solid backup?  I'm thinking $8-10 milion? Rudolph could be a very sought after free agent.

One thing to note is that both Patrick Queen and Roquan Smith are active. The two linebackers have been essential to the Ravens' defense and are expected to not play much--if at all. If they aren't on the field, it SHOULD open up more opportunities for the Steelers to run the ball and target the middle of the field.

I hope Rudolph continues to play well. I’m not pro or anti-Pickett. I just want to see the guy playing playing well.

We've now gotten it confirmed Roquan Smith won't play, but interesting to see Patrick Queen will. He was noticeably grabbing his shoulder A LOT against the Dolphins last week and looked in pain.

Steelers do not have a good track record when the final game is on the line.  This is a major rivalry.  I hope I am wrong but I think the Ravens will win by 4.  Hope I am wrong though.

With the weather, look for the Steelers to lean on the run game a solid deal. That could be a very interesting to see if they can run on what's been the best defense in the NFL. Granted, starters missing for the Ravens, but still a challenge.

And don't discount the Ravens' want to win today. They have a saying that you're not a Raven until you've beaten the Steelers. And the Steelers have won 6 of the last 7 matchups between these two. They definitely want to pull this off, but obviously, won't risk their stars in doing so.

SWS: I think Mason has earned the right to keep it going as long as he's playing well. I'd give him about 2 "bad" interceptions before that happens. And I mean BAD BAD.
