I keep reading that the Steelers have tough decisions coming in 2021 due to reduced salary cap. Shouldn't a reduced cap affect most teams ? How will teams sign players that are salary cap casualties? Since most teams are in the same predicament, is there enough money to go around ? Apologizes for the length of the question(s)
Zeise
12:09
They are gonna have to make some exceptions and allow teams to go above the cap or something. It is gonna be an issue that needs resolved

Hey Paul I could be wrong but I’m pretty Sure you predicted before the season started a bleak outlook for the Steelers this season as far as our usual super bowl contenders or bust expectations are concerned. In your opinion what have they done that’s surprised or exceeded your expectations in them getting to their 7-0 record so far? Also I hope they win Sunday so me and my dad can maintain our history of a consistent great Steelers record on me (11/5) and my Dads (11/8) birthday week. Already 1-0 this year with beating the Ravens.

We were born on the same day so Happy Birthday! Yes I picked them 8-8 or 9-7 I didn’t think that they would be this good at offensive line and defense and I was skeptical of Ben Roethlisberger health. I was wrong

Paul, forecast is looking very golfable this weekend in your area. You should try to get out and work on your game. I’m thinking I will make the cut next week, but contending is probably not in the cards. You got me in the top 10, I assume?
Zeise

I pick Tiger to win every tournament!!

I know you've said several times that Pitt football should be in the top 25 pretty consistently, that they have the talent and resources now to do it. But they've been maybe a hair better than a .500 team overall for 30-40 years under many coaches. Maybe that's really what they are. Paul Chryst is 53-16, I think, at Wisconsin now and was 19-19 at Pitt. So what do you think is different at Pitt now than it was when Wannstadt, Harris, Chryst, etc. were coaching?
Zeise
12:19
I believe Paul Chryst would have got it done. He was excellent football coach. People forget the mess he inherited and had to clean up. It was a disaster that he inherited

Paul, since MT basically calls the defense, was my outburst at KB misguided? You know in a year, I will be raking in more than both of those gentlemen combined, and then some.
Zeise
12:28
I think they both call plays and both work together. The defense has been great

With all of the empathsis on analytics in Baseball and having watched the "Queen's Gambit" I am ready to abandon baseball and start to follow chess.Let strategy prevail.

Ha ha. Start by watching the movie Searching for Bobbie Fischer! It is a great movie

Paul, so far so good in the Burgh, although Primantis may be slightly overrated. But I must say that yinzer drivers are by far the worst I’ve ever encountered. It’s a tunnel folks, nothing to be really scared of. Thanks for letting me vent.
Zeise
12:31
Yes one of life’s great mysteries - why do people slow down for the tunnel!!

Did I see it correctly on Sunday that after Spillane scored his "pick six",  he just dropped the ball and started celebrating, and TJ went over and retrieved the ball for him, recognizing that Spillane probably would want that as a keepsake since it was his first NFL touchdown?? If so, just another example of what a class act TJ is and how he represents the true Steeler culture.  Did anyone else see that?
Zeise
12:31
I did not see that but it does not surprise me

Hi Paul,

I notice Ben trying to rush his throws in order to get ball out quick. I believe if he can wait a split second longer his receivers could get more separation therefore completion more passes and more yards after catch. Your Thoughts?
Zeise
12:39
I think they want him to get it out quick so he doesn’t take sacks. He is playing well. I didn’t think he would be able to play as well as he has

Hello Paul, do you think we will have LT Okorafor RT Banner next year? I am skeptical we will give another contract to Villenueva.
Zeise
12:40
That’s a good point. It would make sense too. But it depends on if Banner can get through his rehab and looks like he will be ready to go

12:42
Now that we know how to beat Baltimore, what will be our secret recipe in beating Mahome and KC?
Zeise
12:42
I don’t know if there is one! The big thing is you need to be able to get to Mahomes with your front four and have seven to cover
Doyle37
12:43
Why do you think the Steelers did not have a FB on 1st and goal from the 1, when it worked so well against Tenn ?
Also no FB on 3rd and 1 late in 4th quarter
Zeise
12:43
They never do, they don’t use fullbacks much more

12:47
Do you think it would be advantageous for the Steelers to work with Chase on defense with hail
Good Afternoon, what are your thoughts on have playing Chase on defense only against Hail Mary plays?
Zeise
12:48
I bet they will do it!

You wrote earlier in the season that the Steelers might be better with a mid-tier QB than with Ben so as to spend his huge cap number elsewhere. You gave Bridgewater as an example. I had some sympathy for this view. Do you still think this would have worked?
Zeise
12:51
i absolutely do. If they had Teddy Bridgewater and maybe a few other key players they would still be in first place

Paul, Pitt's visit to Tallahassee Saturday reminds me of one of Pitt's all time worst losses at Doak Campbell Stadium, 36-22, in 1980. Dan Marino threw a bunch of interceptions in the upset to FSU that cost Pitt the national championship. As bad as 48-14?
Zeise
12:56
No it can’t be worse than that one. That was a bad loss but given the other one was against Penn State no way was it worse. That game by the way was when 10 year old Paul Zeise became a Florida State fan

12:56
Do the Panthers accept a bowl bid at 5-6? 4-7?
Zeise
12:57
I don’t see why they wouldn’t. It is a strange year so nobody would care. Why not

Paul: Which Pittsburgh Archer was the bigger bust, Dri or Chris?

Chris. And it isn’t close

Any chance Juju is a Steeler next year?
