Welcome back my friends let’s get started with the chat!!!

Hi Paul.  Pitt’s schedule became a lot more difficult last night.  If they actually play the schedule, how many wins for Pitt with the new schedule?
Zeise
12:07
I still think they can win like nine games. Clearly the roar schedule is really tough but I think this Pitt team is going to be really good

PIAA ruled no fans for all Fall HS sports. I don’t disagree with the ruling and at least trying a plan for sports.    But has the PIAA never met a HS athlete’s parents?  Good luck trying to keep many parents away from the stadiums and out of the gyms.

It is another example of complete overreaction and lack of logic with many of these kinds of rulings. Most non-football fall sports games that I have been to have very small crowds anyway. And you can limit football crowds to just parents of players and a small group of students. A lot of these policies are just lazy and not well thought out

Hi Paul,

Am curious if you have seen Ben in person yet. What kind of shape does he appear to be in? What are realistic expectations for his performances when the games start? He has a history of playing poorly for several games when he returns from injuries. Thanks!
Zeise
12:10
I have not seen him in person but I’m have seen some recent videos of him and he looks like he is svelte and in shape. Now I can’t speak for his arm strength and whatnot but he does look good

Hi, Paul! Are the Power 5 conferences really expecting to play football this fall, or are the commissioners just playing one big game of chicken, not wanting to be the first to pull the plug?
Zeise
12:12
I think they are gonna push forward like the members of the band on the deck of the Titanic. I don’t think they are fully sure it can happen but they clearly are all in on trying to make it happen

Better chance of finishing the season this year: HS Football, College Football or NFL
12:13
If you're czar of HS sports, what protocols do you do with a positive COVID player?
Zeise
12:13
The NFL has the resources to make it through the season. There is no question they will finish the season
12:14
He/she sits out for ten days and you monitor others for symptoms. Look it is gonna happen, if your plan is “we must shut down after a positive test.”

Hi Paul! Thanks for the chats! Don't think the Bucs have the horses to compete and I guess you get what you pay for. Dyson looks like a waste of time at the plate and Newman and Reynolds look like they are having sophomore slumps. Bell looks like second half Bell from last year and is fooled by off speed pitches off the plate. Starting pitching has been the only bright spot.I see 20-24 wins max. What say you?
Zeise
12:15
I’ve said at the start 26-28 wins and I’ll stick with that. They have decent starting pitching and that’s usually enough to remain somewhat competitive

Can MLB, college football and the NFL finish their seasons without a bubble environment like the NBA, NHL and the MLS? The bubble has worked for those sports with minimal infections so far? MLB looks like a pending disaster.
Zeise
12:16
MLB just had a team have a breakout and they are still playing. They will be fine and finish the season as will the NFL. Positive cases will happen but you mitigate, isolate and move on. And that’s what these leagues will do

If the NFL cap goes down to 175 mil next year, can the Steelers squeeze a Heyward signing under the cap? They are usually pretty crafty with a signing bonus spread out over time but this may be tough. Ben's contract next year will take up nearly 25% of the total cap in that scenario! UGH!
Zeise
12:19
I don’t think the Steelers can do much if the cap goes down that much unless they find a way to give Big Ben an extension and they restructure his deal again

So are these 2 wins by the Pirates the last wins we're gonna see for a while ? I say they maybe have one or two at most left in them at most. This team and franchise is utterly devoid of talent. It's pretty obvious
Zeise
12:20
I would be willing to bet the Pirates will get north of 10 wins at least. I mean they are 2-4 which means at that clip they are projecting to 20-40.
Jock Sutherland
12:20
Do you think 9 wins would get Pitt in ACC championship game with new setup?
Zeise
12:21
No because it would mean they have only 8 ACC wins as one of their wins would be against Miami, Ohio. I think Clemson will play UNC in the title game

Do you think Pitt gets on ND's schedule with their history of playing over the years? I hope so because Pitt can beat the Domers this year which will help recruiting and confidence in the program!
Zeise
12:22
Yes that was announced yesterday. Pitt will play host to ND

Will anyone really notice if no one is in the stands at a Pitt Football game ?
Zeise

Wow you should take that act to open mic night, you are original and hilarious....
Keep firing questions

I noticed during the Pens Flyers game that the rink had local sponsors on the boards...UPMC, Dicks Sporting Goods, Key Bank, Rivers Casino...and a few other ones that you would see at Consol.   Does each team have a home rink?
Zeise
12:25
That’s a great question and one I wish I knew the answer too

12:25
Do you think the Steelers will have more issues getting their offense or defense in sync with limited practice and prep time?
Zeise
12:26
Defense probably just because it will take them some time to get the timing right and all get on the same page. I think when you have a veteran like Ben at quarterback you have a huge advantage

12:26
I know it has disadvantage of being played indoors, but with proper health protocols, limited fan attendance, diligent player off court behavior, etc. shouldn’t college basketball season be easier to pull off than football? Only 14 players to closely monitor.
Zeise
12:30
I think if we can’t pull off college basketball this year we need to shut the whole damn thing down and start over. Do the best you can do to mitigate the risk as much as possible and let them play. And for the virtue signalers out there screaming “easy to say when it isn’t your kids” keep in mind I have a daughter who is a Division I player and us going back to school in a week. I know there are risks but there are risks every time you leave your house. I’m not being cavalier I’m saying the risks for young healthy athletic people between the ages of 18 and 23 is different than risks for people 70 and older. I say let them play

Prediction for Pens series starting Sat?   And what do think of NHL arena setup for empty stands?   I thought great setup for what they are dealing with.
Zeise
12:32
I have done everything in my power to watch sports during this restart so I don’t have any opinions on cardboard fans, virtual fans, fake crowd noise, BLM stickers and banners and all the other stuff that has nothing to do with the reason I’m tuned in. I don’t care about all the other crap. As for the Pens-Habs I think the Pens win in two games
