OK let’s get started!!!

Tell us how would you grade each selection or what you think of each of ours NFL draftees last month..
Zeise
12:08
Wow you are giving me lots of power!! OK - Chase Claypool I was OK with. I thought there were better guys available but he fits a need and seems to have some real upside.Alrx Highsmith is either gonna be a star or a bust. Anthony McFarland brings an element of speed to the running game. I love Kevin Dotson pick, I think he could be the steal of their draft.Antoine Brooks and Carlos David are typical late round picks - some potential but wait and see

Obviously the 2 biggest hurdles to get to the SB as of Today are probably the Chiefs & Ravens.. Do we really have a chance? I guess if we don’t have any significant injury we might.. Depth is my concern.. Thoughts?
Zeise
12:10
A lot has to go right for the Steelers - Ben has to be fully healthy, Conner has to stay healthy juju has to bounce back and the line has to come together. And the defense has to stay healthy. That’s a lot that has to go right for one team to win

Do you believe that Big Ben's offseason conditioning, or lack thereof (reportedly) throughout his career has had any impact on his on-field performance? Does the criticism that he could he have won more if he took better care of himself have any validity?
Zeise
12:13
He has been pretty durable until last season. I don’t know what “win more” means. I mean two years ago he threw for 5,000 yards. He seemed to be fine in terms of his shape. So no I don’t buy it

12:13
So what do you think will happen with our 4 Major League Sports as of Today? how are they playing out their seasons with how they left their own case with the pandemic, if you have to guess!! Thanks..
Zeise
12:19
It would be a complete guess but - I think the NBA will have some semblance of playoffs. The NHL I’m a little less optimistic about but I think we will see some hockey. Baseball will be back by mid June and I think the NFL will be fine. The one I worry about most is college football

Hi Paul what does an NFL stadium look like this year no fans, some fans or all fans.  Your thoughts please.
Zeise
12:20
I think limited fans will be the way it goes. I don’t know if we will see full stadiums any time soon

Hi Paul! Just thinking about a hypothetical. If the Steelers took a running back like Dobbins or Akers with their first pick, could they have picked a good receiver in the third round?  If so, would that have been  a stronger draft or did they do as well as they could with the picks they had?
Zeise
12:22
I would have to go back and look at who was on the board still but I think there were a ton of receivers in this draft. The beauty is time will tell who is the best running back between Dobbins, Akers and McFarland JR

12:23
A college coach said today his players would need at least 8 weeks to get prepared for a season IF they are allowed to play. Is that enough time to get players and teams in shape and up to speed before a game is played? Most players do not have access to gyms or weight rooms right now. In addition, would the end of February be the latest a National Championship game could be played because of the NFL Draft in April?
Zeise
12:25
You have 18-22 year old elite athletes in the best shapes of their lives. If it takes you 8 weeks to get them in shape you need a new strength and conditioning program. Training camp is one month long usually and there is no reason I could be that now. Coaches saying they need 8 weeks are just trying to get more time to install offense and whatnot and that has nothing to do with conditioning

12:25
In the NFL how much real difference is there between a player who runs a 4.4 or a 4.6 40 yard time?
Zeise
12:27
Probably a couple million bucks in terms of where they get drafted LOL. That can be a big difference but game speed is what matters - how fast does a guy play? That’s what counts

What do you make of James Franklin's comments? For example, would the Big Ten really play football if all of the schools could not participate? It seems to me that his comments indicate he's more interested in Penn State's bottom line, which is obviously true when you load up your non-confernce schedule with home games against the likes of Akron and Georgia State.
Zeise
12:30
James Franklin is on the money - teams shouldn’t be limited because other teams in their conference are in a state with a governor who hasn’t opened things up yet. I think conferences might have some tough choices to make but will have to let some teams play and others not play if need be.

12:30
Should both the NHL and NBA go straight to their playoffs IF their seasons resume or should they play 5-10 games to determine playoff seedings and participants?
Zeise
12:31
At this point go to the playoffs. There are a whole lot less things to deal with logistically if you cut out the last few games of the regular season

12:31
HI Paul  now that the draft is past us what is the Steelers biggest need still and who might be out there to add.
Zeise
12:33
I still think they need one more inside linebacker to be honest. They just don’t have any room for error there if someone get hurt
steelmann58
12:34
Hi Paul do you think that Cam will get an extension ?
Zeise
12:35
That’s a tough one - he is getting to the age where the Steelers start to move on from players. He is still productive but his age might mean they decide to move on
steelmann58
12:41
Hi Paul what your take on Lynch seems like Colbert is talking him up some.

How are NFL Draftees compensated by their respective teams before they sign their respective contracts?  In traditional years, there's typically a lot of work put forth by these young prior to inking any parchment, and a man has to eat...
Krugerrand
12:41
what former Steelers player do you expect to have the best year in 2020?
Zeise
12:42
Javon Hargrove. I think he is really good and now that he will have a chance to play he should blossom
Tim fromTyrone
12:42
Hello Paul. I think one of the biggest concerns all Steeler fans should have is backups behind the Steeler starting 11 on defense. One or two starters go down we might see problems develop on the defense, Your thoughts.
Zeise
12:44
That’s what I’ve been saying while everyone else wants to go get skill players on offense - they need defense depth

our 2nd string qb has really taken a bad wrap about his qb skills.  when he filled in for br he was getting crushed standing in the pocket.  i never saw him move out of it.  for this became ineffective against some teams. where was our pro qb coach randy fitchner.  is it not his job to teach such skills if one doesn't already have them. folks should be questioning fitchner's coaching.  what do you think, paul?
Zeise
12:45
I am not ready to give up on Mason Rudolph yet. He has some skill and showed some signs that he can do it. He just needs an opportunity and he needs to get consistent
AZ
12:45
Does the Claypool kid remind you more of Plex or Martavis? He seems to be a mix of the 2, thoughts?
Zeise
12:46
Neither. Well maybe a little Plex. He is a big strong physical receiver. He has good speedS he is maybe a more like a Shannon Sharpe type player
John
12:47
What are your thoughts on HS football? Will it be impacted? What about winter sports; like basketball?
Zeise
12:47
I think high schools will be back and playing. I don’t know about fans and all that but if schools are In session there will be sports

Paul I really don’t give the *NE Cheatriots* credit for what they accomplished with all they have done through the years with all their cheating here and there, plus other things they might have done that we don’t know of.. for me they will have asterisks for ever, I still can’t believe how the falcons and Seahawks gave those 2 SB away.. what’s your thoughts as person not columnist? Thanks..
Zeise
12:53
what the Patriots have accomplished is nothing short of amazing. Incredible actually. And yeah they could have lost those two Super Bowls but they also were two miracle catches away by the Giants from winning those two so it is a wash in my eyes
Tim fromTyrone
12:54
Hello Paul. Looking at the strength of the Steeler division the Steelers cannot start the season the way they have started in the last few years. If they start 1 and 3 that might be enough to bury them for the season. Your thoughts. Thank You.
