OK sorry for the delay let’s goooo....

Lots of chatter re trading down if all of the top RBs are around as the Steelers pick approaches.  How much would a partner really give up to move up to #24 (not like this is a top 10 pick)?  I say grab Etienne or Harris if you truly believe they are game-changers, don't mess around.  If they aren't, you shouldn't be taking them anyway as we need a game changing talent at RB.

I don’t think you trade up to get one. I think there are three running backs who they should feel comfortable taking but you need value.

Hey Paul, why the hell did the Steelers extend Tomlin NOW, after one of the most pitiful playoff losses in recent Steelers history?  He’s produced 3 measly playoff wins in the last decade, with the last 4 years in a row ending in embarrassing collapses, yet they extend him now?  Help me understand!
Zeise
12:43
I don’t like it, it wasn’t necessary to do. I think Mike Tomlin is a good coach and I can see why they would want to have him around but why not wait until after this season. What if they go 5-12 this season or something? They have him under control two years so they didn’t need to do it.

Let's assume the Steelers believe Justin Fields is a legit quality NFL starter and he's sitting there available at 15-20 - do they trade up? Doesn't have to be Fields, any of the top 5, but Fields seems to get the most scrutiny.
Zeise
12:46
I don’t think they should or will trade up for a quarterback. They don’t need to do that. They made it very clear they are trying to win this year. They can’t afford to use a high pick on a player who isn’t going to help them this year
Where are all the questions! Fire away!

Hi Paul, I live in LA and my friends who are LA Kings fans think the Pens got a steal when they acquired Jeff Carter.  I'm inclined to agree.  He has looked great in the first few games, and I think with Kapanen and others returning from injury, we could see big things from the Pens in the playoffs.  What do you think, assuming the third period of the last game was an anomaly?
Zeise
12:53
I agree - I think they can win the East. They are getting healthy and they are getting their lineups set for the playoffs. The key will be goaltending.

Any idea where Malkin is in his rehab from injury?
Zeise
12:58
It is going well. He seems to be on track to get back for the playoffs and be ready to roll. He makes them pretty special, I think

Can you see a point where Ben gets benched next year?
Zeise
12:59
I don’t think so. They are committed to him big time and I can’t imagine they would change course even if he struggles
I would think Ke’Bryan Hayes is it

30% of college hoop players D1 in transfer portal according to Craig Meyers article today. All for allowing kids to play where they want but hard to see how this is good thing for college hoops.  (And not saying because Pitt hit hard from Portal).  I would think the number of players transfer will continue to increase in future years.  And sure will start to have coaches actively going after players on other teams.
Zeise
1:01
It isn’t a good thing for college hoops but I don’t know what the answer is. There doesn’t seem to be a good one. You have to let kids make their own choices

Hi Paul.  Since the Steelers have struggled for so long at Punter, don't you think they should use their 1st pick on the top punter and be set for the next decade?
Zeise
1:01
No. But maybe their 6th or 7th round pick
1:05
There was a question that died in cyberspace about drafting a running back in the first round. In general I don’t think it is a good idea. In general. But in the case of the Steelers they need a running back do it makes sense

Could law enforcement compel Pine Richland to release the details of their investigation?  Or conduct their own investigation?
Zeise
1:20
They could do the latter but the former they couldn’t do. A school enforces it’s own rules and has their own policies

Hi Paul.  Here's my rec for MBB transfer rules.  Player can transfer once while in years 1-4.  Can transfer once more if a graduate transfer.  What do you think??
Zeise
1:21
Again, as long as coaches can leave whenever they want, you can’t limit players movement. My suggestion would be a grad transfer and a first time transfer can do so without sitting out. All other transfers must sit out

Paul, do you have any idea how many people are involved with the draft during each round. For example, are there people who keep an eye on what the other teams around the Steelers are doing, what their current needs are for possible trade moves, etc.?
Zeise
1:22
Yes there is a big team of people for the draft. It is a major operation

1:22
Do you wish you had a boss so easy and undemanding and lackadaisical as The current Rooney?
Zeise
1:23
I think it makes sense on some level to want stability and it isn’t like he has been horrible

When is Amanda sending in her mock draft?
Zeise
1:23
First five picks in her draft: Kettle One, Ciroc, Makers Mark, Jim Beam and Jack Daniels

Hello Paul. Are there any later round players that you would like to see as part of the Steelers?  I would like to see Jarret Patterson as a later round/ free agent pick up...
Zeise
1:24
They need to get a punter and I think they should try and sign a quarterback as an undrafted FA
Rungame0
1:24
how will the lack of a hot seat benefit Tomlin and team this year, always on the bright side.
Zeise
1:25
I don’t think he needs to be on the hot seat. But the thing is the Steelers shouldn’t get themselves in a situation where they can’t get out of it without paying. Now they are married to him regardless of what he does this year.
Rungame0
1:26
When the Steeler organization personnel say this year they expect to contend for a championship, do you think they 100% believe that?
Zeise
1:26
Yes, I do. They aren’t dealing in reality but I don’t think they don’t believe what they said
Rungame0
1:26
Why do CB picks flounder here Paul?  Is the system unnecessarily over complicated?  Do they pull a Ray Searage and retrain CBS their way and mess them up?  And will they ever admit it enough to change their way?
Zeise
1:27
I think it is clear to me that they want the same kind of player - fast and athletic - buy don’t seem to care about whether or not they can actually play football. That’s the biggest issue
Rungame0
1:28
If Tomlin is HC and DC, does that make ‘dad gum’ Butler the LB coach essentially?  Everyone sees through it.  I remember they waited for LeBeau to leave and held Butler over like he was tbe second coming.
Zeise
1:28
Butler is probably more like the co-defensive coordinator
