OK let’s get started!!!

Paul,               With the signing of Trubiski, is he the de facto starter or will there be a true competition?
Zeise
11:41
I will be very shocked if he doesn’t win the job. By the same token I won’t be shocked if Rudolph is at some point the starter. I mean Trubisky will be given every opportunity to win the job
Coach O
11:44
Will be high expectations for Pitt football going into the season but right out of the gate back to back with WVU and Tennessee worry me; you think they win both?
Zeise
11:46
I think definitely will beat WVU I don’t think WVU will be very good next year. Tennessee will be a great game. I can’t predict that one. They will play at Western Michigan the next week so that could be fun. I expect Pitt to win 10 games again
Where’s My Clark Bar?
11:46
Paul, free agency could not have gone much better to this point, but the real question is Are you Ready for some NCAA Basketball!!?
Zeise
11:50
I am but I am not sure this tournament will be a memorable one. There isn’t a team to beat and there isn’t a lot of great “brand name” teams

Hi Paul, Steelers' FA signings have been very good.  I like these additions in the NFL draft: 1) Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia 2) Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati 3) Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota.  4) CB/S/WR/RB with picks in rounds 4-7.  Appreciate your thoughts.  Thank you.
Zeise
11:52
Jordan Davis won’t be there. I don’t think Ridder will be there at 52. Those are good thoughts on players though!

This isn't a question. I just want to say how much I liked your column about Bob Nutting voting to accept the new CBA because you're bang on the mark. If he thinks he can run his team with it he needs at least to get some mid level free agents here to give us something more than a souped up AAA team, one that might have a legitimate shot at the extra playoff berth, while we're waiting for the kids in the minors to be great. It didn't help at all but it was gratifying to read.
Zeise
11:52
It is mind boggling that he would vote yes for it unless he is making money hand over fist, which he clearly is. It is time for him to spend

Now for a question. Why would a small market team like Oakland trade a young guy like Matt Olson who they control for two more years for an older, expensive, guy like Freddie Freeman? Did Atlanta throw in a prospect or two or agree to pay some salary?
Zeise
11:54
Freddie Freeman just signed with the Dodgers for a gazillion

11:54
Hi Paul,  what has gotten into the Steelers with all for this free agent spending?  With these signings what is draft priority now.
Zeise
11:56
They finally have some cap room. And they have made it so that they don’t have to take any position over another in the draft. They have had enough depth and filled enough of the holes that they are in a good place to take the best player that makes sense

Do we need another Golf league?   Sounds like it is going to be mid senior league with the age of guys who seem interested.   A 51 year is going to be the main attraction.
Also the team format sounds dumb if the teams are different every tourney. Who would care?
Zeise

The Phil Mickelson controversy is an example of woke idiocy and total hypocrisy on steroids. The beauty of it is NBC owns the golf channel and a bunch of their talking heads were talking about Phil and Saudi Arabia and human rights violations … yet NBC profited millions off the China Olympics and Nike, who sponsors many golfers, has been in bed with China forever and some of Callaway and Pings products are made in China. Give me a break

What do you think is behind the Boston Celtics turnaround?
Zeise
12:01
I think they finally figured out how to play together and play as a team. That is not always easy to do

i can’t help to think of Noll’s comment when comes to Brady. Something like..  If you are thinking of retirement you already are retired.     Do you think Noll’s comment holds true for Brady?
Zeise
12:01
No I think Brady didn’t want to retire and was giving in to pressure at home

12:02
Hi Paul, great chats.  I thought Bobby Wagner would've been a better fit in Steelers defense, given his abilities QBing the defense and wearing the green dot. Why did they go for Myles Jack instead, any insight?  Thx!
Zeise
12:03
Probably because they are a lot more familiar with Jack and Jack is five years younger

Is there anything that resembles an explanation for New York City allowing non vaccinated fans into Nets and Knicks games, allowing non vaccinated visiting players to play against the Nets and Knicks, allowing Kyrie Irving to sit on the Nets bench, but not allowing him to play at home? Seriously, have you seen any statement that says, "Here's why we're doing this?"
Zeise
12:05
It is just more woke idiocy when it comes to this issue. And I guarantee you this - now that we found out the Yankees and Mets are subject to these nonsensical mandates, they will be lifted in the next month before the baseball season starts, because, well SCIENCE!!!!

12:06
What are your general impressions of all the signings the last few days?  Myles Jack and Daniels, in my opinion, are really going to help this team.
Zeise
12:06
I really like what they have done. They got a good linebacker, a good guard, some depth at center, a starting corner and an option at quarterback
Bernard
12:07
Most likely use of top 3 picks given free agent pick ups?  I've been saying last few weeks a WR in round 1 might not be out of the question given the need there and the stunning depth at that position this year in draft.  Olave at #20.
Zeise
12:10
They have a wide open board to be honest. They could go WR or QB or defensive line or even corner
Bernard
12:10
Who you got in the Final Four and who is your sleeper?
Zeise
12:11
I like Texas Tech, Kansas, Arizona and Kentucky. One team that is intriguing - Miami. They have the kind of experience, guards and athleticism that could make them fun

When Matt Canada was at Wiscy and MD, rumblings around B10 was the guy was a bit of a pill (trying to be subtle).  We all know what Narduzzi said about the guy as well.  Now reading b/w the lines one of your Steelers reporters seems to be saying he is a difficult guy and fellow coaches and many players aren't fans of him or his game planning.  Can you shed any light?
Zeise
12:13
All you need to do is look at the number of jobs a guy has had and it tells you a lot. Dude seems to have a shelf life of about two years everywhere he goes

12:13
Paul, will the Steelers sign any more free agents?  Will they bring any of there free agent secondary players back?
Zeise
12:16
It won’t shock me if Edmunds is back. I can’t see them signing Haden. I think they might add another linemen maybe a receiver but they are probably done

Hi Paul. The Pens Power Play has been awful lately. Every team knows how to defend it. They get met at the blue line & they're lucky if they can get it in & chase it. Then the puck is back out of the zone. If they do finally get in, they're like the Harlem Globetrotters out there, over-passing & taking bad angle shots as usual. They got their only goal the other night because Sid won a faceoff in the o-zone. It gets infuriating screaming at the TV every night, let me tell me Paul. Thoughts?
Zeise
12:24
One thing that seems to never change - despite all the talent and the string of assistant coaching changes - is the Pens power play is always going through all these things where they can’t score. It is a mystery to me
Jason

The Pirates lease at PNC is up in 2030.  Do you think Nutting will move the Pirates?
Zeise
12:24
No and I don’t think MLB would allow that to happen
Kasperi
12:24
Paul, what do you think of me in those Get-Go commercials? I asked Coach Sully if Chef Tom could be behind the bench as my whisperer.    That wouldn't hasten those rumors of me being traded, would it?
