OK let’s get started!!!

Paul...Thank you for being one of the ONLY ones to call a spade a spade.....It's time for Steelers to move on from Ben.  He does not have the drive needed to extend career like Brady Brees etc.  Diet/Nutrition/Work ethic has never been his calling card.  Also if I had a nickle for everytime i heard he's "in the best shape of his life" its comical.   He's easily 30+ plus lbs heavier than when he was "great" an extending plays. Will steelers finally rip band aid off?
Zeise
12:05
No I think if he wants to
come back he will. Now there could be some conditions put in place with respect to his contract that makes him not want to play but if he wants to come back he will be baxk

Archer is back with Rays.  What are our former President Coonley and GM Huntington doing now?  Surely, they can't be involved with any baseball operations?
Zeise
12:06
Not sure about Neal Huntington. Frank Coonelly is working with MLB commissioner I think

Paul....can Steelers win a super bowl with Ben? No!  Can steelers win the division next year with Ben? No!  This they were 11-0 nonsense is so comical.  Their offense stunk almost all year and ben played super hero to win some games.  Ben was great when he could move around and extend plays....he has transformed himself into Joe Flacco/Eli manning before our eyes.   Statue Flacco/Doesn't want hit Eli.....  What will steelers do?
Zeise
12:07
Like I said it is up to Ben and if he wants to come back he will be bacm

Paul - Last night's win aside, I see Pitt basketball as a team with spotty shooting, below average big men, no recruits and doesn't consistently play hard especially on defense.  How can we be optimistic about the future?
Zeise
12:24
I disagree. Capel has recruited well and they have some good young players on their roster. They don’t shoot great but they get after it most of the time and they have some size and athleticism to compete. They are on a good parh

Paul  Ben better be careful what he wishes for...he comes back and plays like he did the last 7 games of season....The yinzers will boo him out of heinz field.   Does he really want that?  Or do these athletes think they are still great? He's a smart guy he has to see he isn't the same
Zeise
12:25
Guys don’t think like that. He thinks if he comes back he can throw dimes all over the field and lead the Steelers to the Super Bowl. He wouldn’t want to come back if he didn’t believe that

ou knw if the National Invitational Tournament is supposed to happen this year? If not, are there any plans to accommodate mid majors who win their conferences but not their tournaments?
Zeise
12:27
As of right now it doesn’t sound like there is going to be an NIT. That would stink for the programs who win their conferences but lose in the conference tourney no doubt. But that’s just where we are right now and life isn’t fair
D from Chi-Town
12:27
Has there been any indications about a 17-game NFL season next year and how it would work?  It seems one conference would have to play all away games against the other conference to make playoff seeding fair.
Zeise
12:28
I think they are making it a go. And it won’t be fair or perfectly balanced. There is no way to make that work
Amanda
12:28
My husband told you and Walls off on your show last week and I couldn't stop smiling. You and he should be ashamed for promoting drinking. I'll be calling in tomorrow to give both of you a piece of my mind. Joking about drinking is a sin.
Zeise
12:30
Have another drink or five, you need to chill out.

I feel really bad for Ke'Bryan Hayes Paul. Not only will he on really bad teams for quite a few years, but you gotta wonder if he will even get pitches to hit. Thoughts?
Zeise
12:32
That’s the thing, you hope he is given a chance by being put in positions in the lineup to have success. They hope that they make the team good enough that in a few years he will be the centerpiece of a team that gets to the playoffs - sort of like McCuctchen
KJ
12:32
If the Penguins miss the playoffs do you think Mike Sullivan gets fired?
Zeise
12:33
I do not. The ownership seems to love him. If he missed the playoffs he would be back next year

Before anyone has a chance to complain about you imbibing in alcohol, a question - are you a whisky drinker? If so, your favorite rye and favorite Irish?
Zeise
12:34
Amanda and her husband hates this question. I’m not a whiskey drinker. I prefer vodka. I do like Fireball. Whiskey is a little too much for me
Big Zeke
12:34
Why does that chick Amanda waste everyone's time on here every week? She needs help.
Zeise
12:35
You think that is bad, she calls the Nughtly Sports Call every week to complain about the Heineken and Coors Light taps on the set!!
Tony
12:39
Why doesn't Jeff Capel have any recruits committed for 2021? To me that is concerning. It's looking like Capel isn't as good a recruiter as we all hoped. No commits so far is inexcusable.
Zeise
12:42
I don’t know because he has said they are going to take guys who fit not just to get bodies in here. And there is also this - because of the waiver that gives everyone an extra year the transfer portal is going to be stuffed and loaded with players and a lot of coaches are holding back scholarships to see who is available
Bernard
12:42
Which fan base has more to be disappointed about since 2010, Packers or Steelers?
Zeise
12:43
Great question. The Packers have had more success since then in terms of playoff wins and they fired their coach for not getting it done. So I would say the Steelers
V. Fontaine
12:43
Can you explain this Pitt basketball team? Look awful against Notre Dame but beat the 13th ranked VaTech last night?
Zeise
12:44
They look like the entire ACC - it looks to me like a league full of flawed teams. Virginia and Florida State are probably the best two teams but I wouldn’t bet the house on either making it to the Final Four
Donna
12:44
Hi Paul.  Who would you like to succeed Rutherford as the Pens’ general manager?  Thank you.
Zeise
12:45
I am intrigued by Ron Hextal because it sounds like he is a builder and good at bringing in young prospects. And the Penguins may not believe they are in rebuild mode but they are.
Joel
12:45
Hi, Paul. My worry on the Steelers is that they are about to land in the dreaded middle --- not good enough to compete for championships but not bad enough to draft at a level needed to get the next franchise-changing player. For 25 years they have done a great job at avoiding this fate. How will they do so this time?
Zeise
12:46
It depends on what they do at quarterback. If they get the right guy in they can be back pushing for championships relatively quickly. If they don’t they are likely gonna be in the middle ground for a while

12:47
Paul...what do you think about the Patrick Reed alleged cheating incident?  Was there anything to it or is it much ado about nothing?
Zeise
12:47
I think what he did was shady that’s for sure but it seems like he didn’t break any rules and nothing on the film can prove he cheated
Gino
12:47
What’s your theory as to why Rutherford resigned?  Thanks Paul.
Zeise
12:48
He was having philosophical differences with Mike Sullivan and with Mario Lemieux and decided it was no longer a situation he wanted to be a part of it
