Let’s get it started!
HockeySeasonNow

Its now hockey season in Pittsburgh. How do you evaluate the Pens staff and player group? How will the rest of their season go?
Zeise
12:07
I love their depth. I love the fact that Todd Reirdon is on the bench. I love how they are playing right now. This team has a chance
Amanda

It's a done deal. From now on you and Rick Walls will not be on anymore together on the Nightly Sports Call. I made some calls. You wouldn't apologize which is not surprising but just sad. You're sad. A sad man.
Zeise
12:08
OK, Rich and I will say hello tomorrow night, but you will be passed out drunk anyway!
Ken
12:08
Paul I ask like 4 questions last week in your chat starting around 12:30 and you didn't answer 1 of them. Why? They were all legit and sports related.
Zeise
12:09
I answer every question in order of when they come in. The only ones I skip are ones that are offensive or these weirdo political bots who try and post their nonsense
Ken

What does that say about Rooney if MT actually does bring Matt Canada back? To me it says Art is not a good owner at all and is basically letting Tomlin have way too much power. It's depressing as a fan actually.
Zeise
12:09
If Matt Canada is back the Steelers aren’t serious about contending for a Super Bowl

That Virginia game was embarrassing. They kept running the same pick n roll play all game and Pitt didn't or couldn't stop it. What does that say about Capel's coaching ability? The sooner they move on from him the better.
Zeise
12:10
It was a step back. But Virginia wins games because their execution is precise and they are very disciplined on both ends of the floor. I don’t think it was embarrassing - and I think Capel has done a good job this year

Paul, in your honest opinion whom do you think would be the biggest mistake for the Steelers to extend the current of of their current unrestricted free agents?
Zeise
12:11
Haden is too old and will want too much money. JuJu is a possession receiver. Tuitt is not reliable. All three should move on
Dan
12:11
I'm inclined to call the Roethlisberger Era a mild disappointment.  The last 12 years of his 18-year career produced... well... nothing. Thoughts?
Zeise
12:12
I would agree. I say it all the time - Ben from
2004 until 2010 was much different than Ben from
2011 until the end
The fact he went 3-8 in his last 11 playoff games is not insignificant

Hi Paul. Thanks for doing there. I am thinking if I’m the Steelers front office and I honestly look to fill the many needs on this roster - this is not the year to go for the next QB. IF they honestly put serious work and resources to the many weaknesses- especially both lines - and get some talent in place, then give Mason the year, see what he has and in a year or so go for your QB if you feel you need one - but with an actual strong  NFL is roster rounding into shape. Am I off base?
Zeise
12:16
I have said before - it is time to build the rest of the team up. Don’t reach for a QB, live with Mason Rudolph for a year and go get a QN mext
QB next year when you have a better team around him
TP Hunter
12:16
How many years do you think Sid has left? I feel like he is starting to decline just a bit. He isn't scoring much anymore and the eye test tells me he doesn't look like he used to.
Zeise
12:17
I’m gonna say this - when it comes to Sid I’m not putting limitations on him. He is a freak of nature and has a lot of Tom Brady in him in terms of his workouts and everything he does to keep in shape.

Considering Dionte Johnson’s inconsistencies would you play wait and see this year and risk having to pay him more after next season?  I am just afraid because the Steelers find themselves in an uncharacteristic position with shallow depth in the receiving corps that they will overpay for his services just based on the lack of talent around him kind of the way they did with Kendall Simmons back in 2007 on the offensive of line.
Zeise
12:18
I think they would be out of their minds to pay him $18 million a year or whatever elite receivers make. If they can get him to agree to a deal that is less than that, yeah I say give him an extension
Carl in Carrick
12:18
Hi Paul.  Is it me or has James Washington had a raw deal with the Steelers?  It seems when he’s on the field, he produces when he’s targeted.  Getting on the field is the big problem.  Thanks.
Zeise
12:19
There is something going on there but I don’t know what it is. He clearly fell out of favor with coaches. I have no idea why because I am not in coaching meetings to know exactly why. It did seem strange because I think he is much better than Ray Ray
TP Hunter
12:20
Why does Jeff Capel keep playing Will Jeffress? He stinks and has no offensive game whatsoever.
Zeise
12:20
Who would you play over him? I agree he doesn’t do much out there but the bench isn’t exactly deep
Maz01
12:20
Hi Paul, Do you think Louis Riddick would be the perfect GM hire for the Steelers, and if so, should the next GM be hired before the draft?
Zeise
12:22
Absolutely not. He is the smartest guy in the room, just ask him. The only people who seem to think hiring him as a GM would be a good idea are him, Pitt fans and people who watch him on MNF and think “he is so smart” The Steelers need to hire an experienced GM
Winterallyearplease
12:22
Paul, you are the temporary GM of the Steelers and knowing that you cannot pull the trigger or will not pull the trigger on any of the superstar quarterbacks available in free agency/trade whom would be your favorite as a bridge qb or at least to give Haskins and Taylor Lautner’s twin competition?
Zeise
12:23
If James Winston is healthy I would give him a two-year deal. You could probably get him for $5 million or less. The reason I say that is he is the one guy I think still has some upside and you could win with. The rest of that scrap heap list no have no interest in
Tommy
12:23
Why are there so many softball questions to Tomlin at his press conferences? I watched the last one and I was fuming! Someone should just straight up remind him he has only won 3 playoff games in the last 11 seasons so why doesn't he bring in outside coaches and stop promoting from within!!
Zeise
12:24
I hear this all the time - please tell me a “tough” question that needs to be asked that isnt
Rude Rob
12:24
Is there any chance—as Coach Tomlin suggests with his "schemes are irrelevant" comment—Matt Canada was so hampered by the offensive players all year long, that his offense could be much more effective next season? Help it make sense.
Zeise
12:25
I think Matt Canada had a bad group of players to work with. I also think Matt Canada’s play calling and offensive design left a lot to be desired. Both can be true and I have no idea why it has to be one or the other
Bud
12:25
Hi Paul. Enjoyed joining your chats during the games this year. Assuming that Pickett isn’t available when they pick, would you think the QB Sam Howell could be a consideration if available?
Zeise
12:26
According to some reports, he is the guy they like most and if true, yes
Miss Cleo
12:26
I see you and Amanda at Kennywood Park together in your future Mr. Zeise. Cleo knows all!
