Cleveland's general M.O. in trades has been to aim for at least one younger, win-now MLB player and at least one younger prospect type.

But, while this technically doesn't fit their past preference, it's still two years of a solid OF in Hays for one year of Bieber.  Not totally sure the Guards would do a straight 1-for-1, but it's an interesting framework for a multi-player swap on both sides

Dombrowski said that Nola is the #1 off season priority. Obviously, but how much credence (or is it just lip service) do you put in that and where do you think he will sign?

I have no doubt Dombrowski and ownership will look to re-sign Nola, and as long as the bidding doesn't get over the top, he'll be back in Philly.

This was (naturally) also a topic in my Phillies chat yesterday, and I speculated that Nola might be let go in part because the Phils could use the QO pick to reload their farm system.  Then again....the Phillies are in win-now mode, not prospect mode.

Ryan Flaherty and Mike Shildt are the only known candidates so far, and both are considered favorites.  Obviously another candidate could emerge, but for now, I'd be expecting one of Flaherty/Shildt to get the job

Do Dodgers look at trade market or free agency for starting pitching.

Knowing the Dodgers, they'll do both.  The Ohtani situation looms of everything and probably impacts their bigger-ticket pursuits, but that wouldn't stop the Dodgers from getting a veteran rebound type in free agency, or look for trade possibilities (even for a pitcher controlled for just 2024)
In short, LA shouldn't be counted out on Burnes/Bieber/Glasnow

Braves stand Pat this off season or do they sign a 4-5 starter and some rehabs in the BP?

David O'Brien of the Athletic made the case in a recent piece that the Braves should get another front-of-the-rotation pitcher even if Charlie Morton returns, and I think I agree.  If Morton is your #4 and one of the internal candidates (Elder or Smith-Shawver) is your #5, that's quite a deep staff.
The Braves could then also possibly trade from their surplus of depth starters

No word on this happening yet, and Schumaker probably is going to end up remaining in Miami (in no small part because he's under contract).  I'm sure Schumaker is upset over Ng's departure, but probably not enough to try and force his way out of his first managerial job after one season

It is being written and compiled as we speak.  I believe publication is planned for around the time of the qualifying-offer deadline, once we know who is getting issued the QOs and who may or may not accept

If nothing else, the Blue Jays need a new manager. Have you ever seen fan discontent at this level? It already started to show with attendance in September. Enough mediocrity. They need a seasoned, respected manager with playoff experience.

The Brewers absolutely want to keep Counsell, they've made that clear.  But it seems like Counsell at the very least wants a big raise, whether it's from Milwaukee or another team (coughcoughtheMetscoughcough)

Do you think Ng's departure, do you think the Marlins will make the postseason next year considering she led them to a berth this year and was the main reason for signing Soler and other big-name free agents?

Obviously we've still to see who the new PBO is and how the offseason plays out, but at the moment, I'm hard pressed to see Miami get back to the playoffs.  They were arguably lucky to get in this year due to the advanced metrics, plus now Alcantara won't be available

Why do many people feel that the Yankees don’t need to make significant changes? Rodon was a disastrous signing. Stanton looks to be done. Other than Judge, I’m not sure their even fielding a major league quality outfield
