11:00
Hello, friends
11:01
It's baseball-thirty
and begin!
Who to stash for ‘26?
11:01
Well, it looks like McGonigle and Wetherholt are not coming up to our chagrin. If you could only stash one for next year, who would you choose and why?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:02
As much as I hate depending on my hometown's player development, I'm taking JJ
They have similar profiles but Wetherholt seems like the better version
11:03
and not for nothing, but McGonigle struggled after his promotion, while JJ raked even more

11:03
Josh Lowe has had a few injuries in the past two seasons.  Is this his baseline going forward or will he be the good 2023 version?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:04
Even without the injury issues, I've never been much of a J-Lowe guy and I'm not bullish on the future
11:05
I generally never trust guys with splits issues on the Rays
Which SPs to keep nxt yr?
11:06
If you were in a keeper league, which SPs would you keep if you couldn’t make any trades? Gilbert, Miz, Webb, Woodruff, McLean, Chandler, Tolle, Rogers (BAL) and Sasaki.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:07
In a vacuum, it be Gilbert, Webb, Woodruff, Miz, and Chandler
11:08
but your team/league context would make a big difference (IE what's your short-term winning window)
Michael B
11:09
In my 12 team keeper league (allowed to keep 6) without considering the draft pick forfeiture for each, which of the following would you keep? Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman Rafael Devers (if he continues as a 3B), Hunter Brown, George Kirby, Spencer Strider, Nolan McLean.  Assuming you'll say No to Kyle Bradish, Quinn Priester, Jesus Luzardo, and George Springer?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:10
Judge, Ohtani, Devers, Brown, Kirby, Strider
Lewellyn Moss
11:11
Otteneu keeper, is Ryan Helmsley worth keeping for 2026 at $6 (or $400).  This is just a NYM issue, right?  He’ll get a closer gig somewhere next year.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:11
drop him
I wouldn't assume a closing role next year
maybe, but tough to assume

11:12
Do you anticipate River Ryan being part of the rotation for the Dodgers next season?  Seems like it might be a little cluttered…
Nicklaus Gaut
11:12
Wouldn't count on it - like you said, super cluttered right now
11:13
But also, it's the Dodgers

11:15
Could you rank these arms (assuming no evil before Sunday) with an eye to the (maybe) schedule? Baz (@chc, tor, @bal); Bryce Miller (LAA, @kc, col); Cristian Javier (@tor, tex, @ath); Bradish (@pit, cws, and maybe cut for nyyx2)
Nicklaus Gaut
11:15
Miller > Bradish > Baz > Javier
Trevory
11:16
What do we do with Trevor Rogers? Feels like I'm rolling him out vs LAD. Then it's probably Yankees twice?! Is he as unsittable as he is unhittable? Is he suddenly an al only keeper at $10?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:17
upcoming schedule is brutal, but I just don't think you can sit someone on this kind of roll
11:18
yeah, gotta keep him at $10, at this point
his game logs are just a metronome of goodness
Guarded Indian
11:20
I'm in a league where we can sign players to multiple year contracts.  (30 years today for your entire roster).  Has Stowers broke out enough for me to invest 2 or 3 years or is this a fluke?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:21
Yeah, I think he's definitely earned that.
Cristian Charity
11:21
Thanks for encouraging me to hold Javier for that LAA start! I’m sitting for NYY today, but is he worth holding with @Tor, Tex, and @ATH up next?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:21
You're welcome!
But I'd cash my Javier chips in now
don't love him the rest of the way
Helpfully IL'ed Monday
11:23
I need(ed) a replacement for India in al obp. Any of these spark joy: Richie Palacios, Austin Martin, canzone, kayfus, rowdy, Baldwin?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:23
Joy? No
11:24
but I like Cayfus way more over the rest
RAGBRAI
11:24
As the way things stand now do you see McLean and Tong on the Mets OD?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:24
The Mets are fools, if they aren't
So, probably not?
