Hey everyone, looking forward to another chat!
Let's get this rolling

With the Blue Jays brining in Brandon Belt is there still playing time for Cavan Biggio? Does he have any trade value, or do the Jay's stick with him in a bench utility role?
Anthony Franco
6:00
Yeah he'd draw some trade interest. White Sox stand out as the best fit though there are other teams that could check in as a second base/multi-positional option
Think it's plausible either he or Espinal gets moved but they wouldn't get an overwhelming return for either so they could just decide to stockpile the depth

yankees gary reunion makes sense lol higashioka stinks trevino offense a fluke stanton will spend time on il and left have a great day
Anthony Franco
6:01
I doubt this happens but I generally agree that Sánchez would be a better #2 option than Higashioka
Let's go get Brendan
6:01
Havent heard any connection here, but the rockies are shopping brendan Roger's and the white sox need a 2b. Seems like a fit there, sox have a few young arms that could return him. Maybe Crochet, Davis/Lambert and another arm in A or AA level.
Anthony Franco
6:02
Wouldn't say the Rockies are shopping Rodgers so much as being open-minded about ways to upgrade the rotation. They wouldn't move him for a pair of relievers like Crochet and Lambert
6:03
Could see Kopech as an interesting fit for this if the White Sox had a little more rotation depth of their own
Ignorance or indifference?
6:04
Everyone is avoiding answering my question about where Miguel Sano might end up. Don't know or don't care? Best guess?
Anthony Franco
6:05
Can't say I've given it a whole lot of thought since he was terrible and/or hurt for all of last year
A's maybe?

Thanks for the chat just seeing if you are actually picking questions from earlier!  How serious are the Twins about dealing Arraez? And as good as he is as a hitter, he offers little else in the way of value. Agree?
Anthony Franco
6:07
Dan Hayes is a good reporter, so if he says the Twins are open to moving Arraez to get controllable starting pitching, I believe it's really under consideration. That's obviously not the same thing as saying they're actively shopping him or desperate to make that kind of move though
6:08
Definitely a bat-first player but that's fine where this gifted of a hitter. He has some multi-positional ability too, albeit not as a guy you'd really want playing up the middle all that frequently
But he can really hit and is controllable for three years, so he's very valuable

Hi, I feel Bumgarner is a waste of money going forward and a sunk cost.  Ie pay same if on team or not.  I've heard opinions of some on your network that they don't see him as option for bullpen either because his stuff doesn't translate.   Do you see any reasonable hope that Bumgarner is not through?   I don't so why not get rid of him earlier and kept one of last 2  players lost via claims?   Thank you!

D-Backs don't have a ton of certainty at the back of the rotation so I don't have an issue with them giving him one more look early in the season to see if he can outplay someone like Zach Davies
6:10
But I'm increasingly leaning in your direction, yeah. If he's their worst starter for the first month and a half or so, it's time to seriously consider moving on

I written this trade proposal to you several times, but I haven't seen it come up.  Would the Pirates accept a trade offer from the Giants of Kyle Harrison, Grant McCray, Reggie Crawford and Will Bednar for Bryan Reynolds ?
Anthony Franco
6:11
I think so -- I would if I were them -- but don't expect the Giants to make Harrison available
Chris Young
6:12
Good afternoon! Is there any chance that Evan Carter starts in the outfield for the Rangers this year?
Anthony Franco
6:13
He'd have to be unbelievable in the upper minors for a couple months. Seems unlikely for a player with six career games above High-A but if he's the best hitter in Double-A through July and they're on the fringe of the Wild Card race, they'd have to consider it

With Seattle still needing a corner infielder, who right now would be a good option?
Anthony Franco
6:15
Left-handed bat would probably be ideal. Think they'd be an interesting to roll the dice on Edwin Rios
6:16
Could see the roster fit with Joey Wendle as a multi-positional infielder who guards against some Suarez regression, but the Miguel Rojas trade probably makes it less likely Miami deals Wendle
Hetzel

Are the Yankees done this offseason?  They have way too many young prospects that could bring them a valuable piece in return.  They’ll be fortunate if 2 or 3 of those prospects turn out to be the studs they hope they will be.
Anthony Franco
6:18
Seems like the heavy lifting's done. Still room for a complementary bat in the corner outfield mix. Could bring in another lefty reliever after trading Luetge, particularly since Schmidt's the top rotation depth option with Montas out to start the year

What will be Nolan Gorman’s role this year
Anthony Franco
6:20
Strong side platoon partner for Yepez at DH, I guess. Seems like he could end up being part of a deadline trade for rotation help
6:21
He's a nice fallback option if Donovan doesn't maintain his rookie year pace or an infielder other than Edman gets injured but only path to regular playing time out of the gate is at DH

Coming off two down years, what's the most likely scenario for Brain Anderson and the Crew...1) Starts at 3B,  2) Starts in RF, 3) Comes off the bench able to help both in the IF and OF?
Anthony Franco
6:23
Don't think he's taking the third base job from Urías. Probably starts on the bench, while rotating through the corners and getting some DH at-bats. Tyrone Taylor's the guy who probably loses the most playing time with Anderson around, but I assume Milwaukee will give Taylor a shot to build off his decent 2022 first

Who is the Dodgers closer? Are the Dodgers going to let Julio walk?
Anthony Franco
6:24
Guessing Daniel Hudson gets the ninth, assuming he's healthy. Evan Phillips probably if Hudson's not quite at full strength
6:25
On letting Urías walk? Probably depends on where things stand with the Ohtani pursuit next winter. Hard for me to see the Dodgers signing both of them
Bloom
6:26
Would Houck be enough to get Kim from the Pads? At least enough to get the talks started?
Anthony Franco
6:27
That's interesting. Guess it depends on how San Diego feels about Houck turning a lineup over three times but if they think he's a viable mid-rotation starter, I could see something like this

Do you see the Astros making a trade for a backup catcher or lefty reliever. Which one of the three candidates for G.M  do you like the best?
