Morning, y'all!
Let's get started

NL only keeper. Need steals. Target Jacob Young or TJ Friedl?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:02
For this week Young but Friedl for ROS. But that’s mostly because Young will likely see an upcoming dip in his playing time with Victor Robles starting a rehab assignment, while Friedl might be back this weekend - though likely only for defensive purposes.

How are you feeling about Luis Gil?  Is it worth waiting a bit more to see if he figures things out, or is he too wild to depend on?  AL-only league.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:03
I think you have to hold for now in AL-only. The walks will lead to some bad outings but prior to getting lit up by MIL (2nd in wOBA vs RHP), Gil had a 2.75 ERA (2.95 FIP) and 13.3 K/9. Maybe be careful with his matchups but I expect you won’t find much better on the wire.

Have you heard any word on how Bobby Miller is progressing towards rejoining the Dodgers lineup?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:03
Even though his shoulder strain is considered mild, the Dodgers seem to be taking it really slow on Miller, given his importance to their rotation depth. He’s only still playing catch and I expect we might not see him until closer to June.

Looking for some short term bullpen help until some of my relievers come off DTD/IL…looking for saves/holds, anyone you recommend?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:04
David Robertson, Fernando Cruz, JoJo Romero, Andrew Kittredge

12 team AL only. Caminero, Manzardo, Lee, Montgomery and of course Holliday all owned. If I could use an impact hitter (who couldn't?) how all in do you go in faab on Loperfido?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:04
I try not to get too crazy with callups but think you can be more aggressive in Only-Leagues. In a vacuum, like 10%ish of FAAB? But I always start my call-up bids by first looking at what it took to get the previous hot guys.

Any strong starting pitching arms coming up soon?  Besides Skenes, somebody already grabbed him in my league even though he isn't up yet...
Nicklaus Gaut
11:05
Jackson Jobe is the sexiest name - been carving at Double-A but his path to the rotation isn’t clear.
Robert Gasser should also be up in May sometime. The Mets should call up Christian Scott any time now but he’ll need to correct the dinger problem that has popped up this year.
Max Meyer should already be up but who knows what the hell the Marlins are going to get up to, even with a devastated rotation.

How would you rank Ryan O’Hearn, Kerry Carpenter, Nate Jones, and Evan Carter?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:05
I’m assuming you mean Nolan Jones?
11:06
If so: Jones > Carter >>> Carpenter >> O’Hearn
Cade Povich
11:07
I've decided to stash Povich because he's doing well at AAA and the back-end of the Orioles rotation isn't irreplaceable.  What's your take on Povich?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:09
Great stash. Talent looks good enough to be in the bigs now but I suspect it won't be until summer barring the wheels coming off the O's rotation (totally possible) or Bradish reinjuring himself.

Pursuing trading Loperfido for Orelvis Martinez.  Which side do you like?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:09
I prefer Loperfido

11:09
Who do you like the most out of Patrick Bailey, Tyler Stephenson and Danny Jansen?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:09
Bailey, by a lot. Maybe it’s just because Stephenson and Jansen have broken my heart too many times but mostly it’s because Bailey can rake and the Giants seem to finally be giving him more regular ABs vs LHP.

What are your thoughts on J Soler’s slow-ish start?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:10
I’d only be stressed if you were expecting a repeat of 2023. I’d guess he’ll still wind up with 25+ HR and a .220 AVG which is about what he should’ve been drafted for.

Corbin Carroll was supposed to anchor my outfield.  His numbers, supporting metrics, and eye test have all been sources of concern.  Is he a good trade low candidate so I can recover some value?  What other buy low candidates should be targeted with higher bounce back potential?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:11
I’ve been out on him since the shoulder injury but I think it’s hard to sell low on him right now because I suspect the return for him would be super low.
Biggest buy lows for me are J-Rod, Matt Olson, Rafael Devers, and Nico Hoerner.

AL only keeper league. Currently in 1st place. I traded $2 Caminero for $5 Kirilloff and $10 Orelvis Martinez as my only 1B was Vaughn and I thought Martinez would help me more this year. Thoughts?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:12
Welp, you realized you needed a Vaughn upgrade - knowing that is half the battle lol
11:13
Like the players you got but you mostly need to hope that Kirilloff stays healthy until Martinez gets called up

AL only keeper league…Logan Allen, Woods-Richardson, Carrasco, J. Soriano
Nicklaus Gaut
11:14
Allen > Woods-Richardson > Soriano > Carrasco

I play in a ten-team, traditional Roto league. AL only. When Brandon Lowe is eventually activated, I’ll need to cut a player, either Arias, Josh Rojas, or even Caballero, who has speed but I’m concerned about playing time moving forward. How would you rank them?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:15
Caballero > Arias > Rojas
I'm done doubting Caballero's playing time.
11:16
Which means Kevin Cash has me right where he wants me
