Hey folks! Welcome back to fantasy chats. We'll get the ball rolling in a moment.
1:01
As a reminder, these chats are intended to discuss fantasy issues. So if you really want to know about something non-fantasy, try to hide it!
1:02
One little bit of promotion before we begin. We do these public chats every other week. The off weeks are for Front Office subscriber chats. Last season, I answered every question posed in the sub chats. I can't promise to do so again, but your odds of getting a response are very high.

In a dynasty league, would you trade gunnar henderson for Will Smith and Jose altuve?
Brad Johnson
1:03
I would need more information. What I think of as "dynasty" tends to be deeper than some of the folks that ask questions - i.e. 20-team, keep 20 or more. I lean towards wanting Henderson in those deeper leagues, but this does seem like a fair swap
1:04
In a shallower format, I'm more aggressive about spending prospect capital since it's easy to resupply with more prospects.
I'm also assuming that's Will Smith the catcher and you need a catcher.

Who will be the closer 4 Det & Washington
Brad Johnson
1:05
Kyle Finnegan emerged as a legit closer-caliber pitcher last year
As for Detroit, that might wind up being a dark horse. Someone unexpected. For now, Alex Lange is the frontrunner.

Should I sell high on Sandy Alcantara in a dynasty league?
Brad Johnson
1:06
It's not a bad idea
Workload and velocity eventually catches up to most guys.
1:07
That said, I'm not sure there's a more reliable pitcher in the league in terms of making long, effective starts.
Too bad he doesn't have run support.

How do you value Andres Giminez? He seems like a great pickup in later rounds.
Brad Johnson
1:07
The types of leagues I play do not view him as a late target
1:08
By which I mean you're definitely using a top 100 pick to get him
And, I think it's worth it for AVG leagues.
Let me pull up a reference real quick
1:09
He was the 4th best 2B last year in 5x5 and he projects as 7th best this year

How do you feel about Chourio in a dynasty format?
Brad Johnson
1:09
Pretty enthusiastic if I have him. Not yet willing to pay the premium where I don't.

hey! Thanks for doing these chats. I’m wondering how differently you draft steals and saves in a head-to-head format versus Roto (if at all)?
Brad Johnson
1:11
Broadly, I want to aim for 3rd in every category in roto.
In H2H, I aim to dominate 5 categories then try to scrounge 3 coin flips
1:12
Steals and saves are among the easiest to dominate, though my preferred approach is to stack elite SP and HR.
I'm a big believer in mid-draft adjustments

What is your draft strategy regarding pitching?    I usually load up on hitting with my top picks and in the first half of the draft.
Brad Johnson
1:13
Related to my last answer, 1. it depends on the prevailing strategy among my opponents - I'm a contrarian 2. I love elite SP in H2H and lean hitters in roto.

In a points dynasty league, should I trade Hunter Greene for Jordan Walker?
Brad Johnson
1:13
Oh yes, instantly
1:14
I consider Greene to be fringy for fantasy purposes. He'll have good years and bad.

Would you draft any Detroit Tigers or have any on your roster?
Brad Johnson
1:14
I'd buy low on Meadows
1:15
Turnbull too
Lange
I have a dynasty share of Skubal. Tried to trade him. Nobody bit.
Juan Berenguer's Derrier

Does Luis Campusano have any value in a  Scoreheet baseball continuing league? He's been in El Paso long enough to run for mayor.
Brad Johnson

I think this is the year he starts to crack the lineup more regularly.
