Hi everyone. Tonight's chat will focus on the picks of the LABR 15-team mixed draft. Here is a link: https://rtsports.com/labr-mixed-draft
Our own Mike Podhorzer will be drafting in the #7 spot while Paul Sporer and Jason Collete will be picking #14
6:57
I answer questions until the first pick and then will post your and my comments once it get rolling.

Is it crazy to take Nola over Archer, Ray and CMART?
Jeff Zimmerman
6:59
No. I think each has his own strengths and weakness. Probably each will be a #2. Might depend on how the owner went with the first starter.
Where to Pick?
6:59
What are the advantages/disadvantages between picking first, middle positions and last/wheel in a 15 team draft like LABR?  Which do you prefer?
Jeff Zimmerman
7:01
I like first (total talent is more at #1 and #30) or near the end (get one of the top four SP). The middle offers neither.
Mike Podhorzer
7:02
hey guys, figured I'd keep this chat open to answer questions between picks if I can...
Jeff Zimmerman
7:03
Thanks Mike. We'll try not to mock you too much
Erik
7:03
Approximately how much would you deviate from the auction calculator's values in a dynasty draft based on age? Is 5 bucks in the right ballpark?
Jeff Zimmerman
7:03
Possible quite a bit. I'd go only for players under 25. Pickings get slim quickly but build with future in mind
Erik
7:04
Next year, will you televise this, with a play-by-play guy and color commentary?
Jeff Zimmerman
7:04
Sirius XM is broadcasting it

Time between picks?
Jeff Zimmerman
7:04
I think 1:30. It has been in past

What is LABR's league settings? Standard 5 x 5? And how many roster spots and bench spots?
Jeff Zimmerman
7:06
Standard 5x5. 14 Hitters , 9 pitchers, 6 bench with some intense bench rules. Player must be hurt or demoted to make a lineup change
Tyler
7:06
Besides the “known” breakouts advertised, name one or two pitchers who might surprise
Jeff Zimmerman
7:06
Cotton and Fister are to with late season adjustments
Mike Podhorzer
7:07
that's only in the mono leagues Jeff...our league has free lineup changes
Jeff Zimmerman
7:07
I stand corrected
Erik
7:07
"I'd go only for players under 25." You mean you'd only adjust the values for those guys, or you'd literally only draft under-25 players?
Jeff Zimmerman
7:07
Only take players 25 and under

In a draft and hold, is late 3rd round too early for Jansen?
Jeff Zimmerman
7:09
I think the 7th is so I won't own him. I'm not paying up for him and picking them later. Rob Silver and I plan on covering our closer strategy on our new Fantrax podcast tomorrow.

As in Doug Fister?
Jeff Zimmerman
7:10
Yep. Not young but could surprise. Check out his late season stats
Use Knowledge?

Since these are all experts, who likely publish sleepers/overvalued players (we all know Zola loves Ketel Marte, etc.) - Does that influence how you draft in expert leagues?
Jeff Zimmerman
7:11
I think so. Some owners want to brag.....wait ..... talk about their picks. I expect the winner to roster a very boring team.

This a sweet idea, love it
Jeff Zimmerman

Thanks. And feel free to give thoughts on any pick. I'm going to keep it rolling like a game thread.

Watson rumored to be in SF with Melancon.  Is there any chance they swap roles all year ?
Jeff Zimmerman
7:14
About to start but I think Malancon starts with job and must fail at it to be replaced
Bob
7:14
