Happy Noon (ET) Chat, all! Thanks for joining and/or reading the transcript. If you're live, we have lots of questions in the queue, but always up for more. Given the volume, will try to buzz through as many as possible!

One quick note: we just opened up the registration for First Pitch Arizona in the past few days. November 5-8 in Phoenix area in conjunction with the Arizona Fall League. Lotsa great stuff in the works. All current info, including reg details, found here: https://www.baseballhq.com/pricing/first-pitch-arizona-2026

OK, let's roll!

Hi Brent, I thankfully have pitching reinforcements on the way, with Greene and Kremer coming off IL. I’m trying to deal some players to open up roster spots, but their value is way down and I may just end up dropping. In a league that rewards QS, how would you prioritize Soriano, Elder, and Drohan for ROS? Thanks, as always.
Brent Hershey
12:04
Elder the first cut easily. I'd probably want to keep Soriano the most, though Drohan is growing on me and I'd put off that decision for as long as possible. He's got my interest in some spots.

Hi Brent, thanks for the chat! Is Yelich droppable in an 11 team mixed?  Possilbe replacements i.e. Adell or Eldridge but could also stream the spot.  Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:05
Yes, probably in a league like this (11-team). Much less likely to hold onto big names who are struggling. As I'm a huge Eldridge fan, that's the way I'd lean (though would prob prefer Adell over Yelich, too).

Does Pete Crow-Armstrong stay studly the rest of the season or does he fade like he did last season?
Brent Hershey
12:08
I think chances are better that he doesn't drop off a cliff. More experience, etc. Also a shot he stays studly and carries some fantasy squads.

Important (only somewhat related) point though: This time last year, we were just about all convinced PCA was a 2026 first-rounder. There's still half a season left for both players (and your teams) to go on a run ... or go into the tank (speaking to 2025 self). Stick with it all year.

4x4 AL only ros. volpe or kreidler, butler or watson, bibee or melton , whitlock or lang bonus question does chapman get traded beofre deadline? Thank you
Brent Hershey
12:10
Volpe, Butler, Bibee, Whitlock. Aroldis gets moved, yes ... but remember that Whitlock could well go also. At this rate, he'll be coveted.

Fermin / Vesia / Manaea, though Spoat a close 2nd. I almost always try to avoid open spots, FWIW.

AL-only 4x4 (no Ks): Chasing Wins (I know I know) and I'm considering Flaherty at Texas (no Langford) this week...especially after his outing yesterday and his June numbers.  Some sites have him facing Rocker and some DeGrom this week.  Any interest in rolling the dice on him this week?
Brent Hershey
12:18
At Texas, where you're chasing wins? Sure, even though it looks like v deGrom on Sunday.
Raider 34
12:20
Brent what’s your take on J.Foscue are they ever going to him a chance?
Brent Hershey
12:20
Just a utility piece, hasn't shown a fantasy-worthy skill, so I kinda doubt we'll see him much. Maybe, if there's a big TEX sell-off after the deadline. But just an afterthought for me at the moment.
Broken Bat
12:24
Based upon teams expected to sell before trade deadline and current contract status, who are the Top 3 relief pitchers that could go from 8th inning to closer with right trade. I am thinking Weaver, as an example.
Brent Hershey
12:24
Pretty impossible task to predict ... best bet is to just grab a few high skill guys, of which Weaver is one. I mentioned Whitlock earlier also ... the problem is that while Williams and Chapman might move teams, so could Weaver and Whitlock types. Maybe take a shot on one of the SD arms, as Preller has shown he'll move anyone for a return? We'll keep an eye on this as we get closer to the deadline, but tough to predict here still 4 weeks out.

AL ONLY.  I have been holding on to Ty Madden... but his path looks pretty blocked barring injury.  Is he the first SP to be called up after Melton and Verlander?  or not even this?
Brent Hershey
12:26
Yeah, I think that's right ... he's a depth starter for them in AAA right now. Never know with injury/underperformance. If it's not hurting you roster spot wise, no problem with this. On the other hand if it's a crunch, even in an AL-only, not sure he's a PRIME stash or anything.

AL ONLY, OBP league.  Please rank these pickups ROS:  Romy Gonzales, ASeigler, RDelgado, KWatson, SKeys.   Any favorites here?
Brent Hershey
12:29
Kinda bleak, as only-leagues can get. Feel like Watson is the one where if he got hot, could force CLE to keep him in the lineup. Maybe Keys next, but I expect him to be shipped out when TOR gets Barger or some others back. And I guess in an OBP, you could take Romy, under the thought that if BOS sells some hitters AND he's healthy, maybe he finds some post-deadline AB. Can't see that either Seigler or Delgado makes fantasy waves ROS (or even long-term)
Angel Eyes
12:29
NL only.  CRea or SManaea ROS?
Brent Hershey
12:29
Manaea
Beano
12:31
Hello and thanks as always Brent! NL 10 team 5x5 - which 2 of these would you rather roster: $2 T Troy, $2 M Shaw, $1 E Valdez?
And is T Mahle a pitcher we should try to FAAB - or watch from a safe distance?
Brent Hershey
12:31
Shaw and Valdez ... though been impressed with Troy. But those first two have more fantasy juice IMO.

I'd say in a NL only, Mahle is a token bid ... not someone I'd chase, but if scooped up cheap, worth a few weeks just to see what we have (and if he can avoid the IL)
JB
12:33
Please rank Rangel, A. Alvarez, K. Leahy or should I just pick up reliever: Herget, Michael Peterson or Mlodowski.
Brent Hershey
12:33
Leahy / Mlodzinski / Alvarez <gap> Herget / Peterson / Rangel for me.
Wade
12:34
Need a boost this week. 12 team H2H points league. Roll the dice with Willi Castro or stick to Casey Schmidt
Brent Hershey
12:34
Can see the Castro appeal this week, but Schmitt is the better hitter, fairly easily.

Any clever ROS 3B ideas in 12s? I've been carrying Jung but his Ks are back and no xbh. Edman (PT?), Denzer (Ks), Chapman (old), Crawford (least he plays)?
Brent Hershey
12:38
Josh Jung? Yes, had a terrible week, but is in the middle of a career-best season. Easy hold over those other 3B, even in a 12.

hi Brent, which one should play this week : baz vs ws & cin, a lange only 5 games, rocker vs det, or roupp vs ari? Which one should I drop next doyle ou mclain?
Brent Hershey
12:39
Take Baz's 2 step; drop McLain I guess (tossup)
andre dawson
12:40
hi Brent, what do you expect will happen soon with brenton doyle who is currenly rehabbing in Albuquerque? Optioned to minors like Beck who is performing much better than him during rehab, or coming back to MLB in his weak side platoon like he was before his injury or shape up to become the second Colorado Dante Bichette?
Brent Hershey
12:40
Think Doyle likely comes back to majors and they try work him in. His CF defense will help; yes, could be a platoon guy. Don't expect Dante.
Rick
12:42
Speaking of Yelich, is he even droppable in 10-12 team Dynasty Leagues? Still a pretty solid hitter, but lots of injuries, reduced power, etc.
