Happy Last Friday in June, everyone. Season is flipping over to 2nd half... which means a lot of ball still to be played. Going to fire through this queue as quickly as possible today... let's get after it!

12 tm Roto Keeper 6x6 with BB/Hlds. Need your suggestions on 3B and OF. In semi rebuild and am looking for at least 2 names to target for each position. Looking to the future. I understand this may be difficult but am asking for your opinion. Thank you for the chat
Ray Murphy
11:03
Sorry, more specific questions than this are far easier to respond to in this format. It's really hard/not that likely to be helpful to ask me to pull names out of the sky for you.

Happy Friday!  I am in a 10-team NL-only keeper league, and I am trying to figure out if I should hold tight with Ben Brown and wait for him to get back, or drop him for Junk or Wrobleski.  I also have Nola and Gonsolin on the IL, so my starting pitching is getting thin. Thank you for your advice!
Ray Murphy
11:04
I still like Brown but don't think you need to hold him. I'd grab Wrob or equivalent for now.

4x4 AL only. ROS for saves Uceta,Fisher, Detmer Thank you
Ray Murphy
11:05
For pure saves speculation, I'll take Detmers here based on the Jansen trade possibilities. What Fisher's doing is impressive, though.

Need some help in 4x4 with no emphasis on sb. DH spot open Burger on IL). Vientos, Toglia, Christian Walker and Wagaman. Pease rank for me, I am leaning Vientos.
Ray Murphy
11:07
Much as I like Vientos, he was kind of a mess before the IL stint. I think the lightning-in-bottle option here is Toglia. I'd try him first.
Beano
11:07
Hi Ray! NL 10 team 5x5 Vientos is back - the only guy I can see waiving from my active squad is Fraley. Or should I wait to activate until the Mets work out PT with their IF/DH guys like Vientos?
Ray Murphy
11:07
I'd wait as long as you can, see how Vientos looks and how Mets use him.

Is Didier Fuentes really this bad? If so, why is he starting games?
Ray Murphy
11:10
Sometimes these guys who rocket thru the minors meet their match in the majors. Kind of reminds me of Zebby Matthews last year. But he'll probably keep starting because the Braves don't have any better (healthy) options at the moment.

Hi Ray, thank you for taking my question. I need your expert advice on which SP will perform better (please rank your favorites) in the second half among : soroka, gusto, j lopez, hancock, lauer, pallante, woods-richardson? Cheers
Ray Murphy
11:11
Really like Soroka (talked about him on HQRadio today, see the Fact/Fluke piece this week)... and Lopez (Jacob, I assume) from this group.

NL only, saves/holds.  I reacquired KGinkel based on his skills in BHQ thinking he would come around in a bullpen that needs him.  Am I wrong?  Time to cut bait (or is it already passed that time?)
Ray Murphy
11:16
Wasn't the worst idea, but unfortunately KG hasn't cooperated, mostly by walking too many guys. That has gotten a bit better in last couple of outings, so maybe there's hope. But Miller seems entrenched, he would have to falter. I'm guessing there are better speculative targets available to you.

hi Ray, thank you for taking my question. I would like your expert advice on which batters will perform better (please rank your favorites) during the second half among: w-perez, n-gonzales, schmidtt, j-ortiz, m-muncy oak, l-sosa, durbin, polanco, collins, horowitz, canzone, hayes, h hernandez, marsh? Position eligibility and scarcity not a factor. A brief comment would be appreciated. Thank you,
Ray Murphy
11:17
Really too many guys to evaluate in this format, sorry. Couple who I like... Horwitz, Ortiz (getting hot lately), Gonzalez (looking good back from IL).

AL only.  What about Enns?  No BHQ profile.  He is worth a bit of faab $?
Ray Murphy
11:19
Good team context, but 34 yr old lefty who hasn't pitched in majors in 3 years (and even then just a cup of coffee) is a deep reach. Oddly, we don't have a velocity number on him from his start, which I think means he didn't actually throw a pitch that was classified as a fastball. There are a couple of guys in recent years who have been similar... David Robertson is one.

hi Ray, thank you for taking my question. I would like your expert advice on which SP will comeback in MLB and will perform better (please rank your favorites) during the second half among: cavalli, l-garcia, javier, harrison, manoah, jon-gray, bradish, means, stroman? I will put them on my bench in the short term. A brief comment would be welcome. Thank you,
Ray Murphy
11:21
Again, too many names to comment on here. I think Harrison will be up in Boston once the Sox lab folks finish tinkering with him in the minors. Gray could find an important role in TEX when healthy. The rest seem like dart throws... too much depends on how their various rehabs go. My crystal ball isn't that sharp.

AL only, OBP league.  Am considering dropping CMeidroth for the available LRengifo.  What say you ROS?  (YTD says Meidroth; last 21 days says Rengifo).
Ray Murphy
11:23
Preseason you would have said Rengifo easily. A month ago Meidroth was red-hot and Rengifo was awful. Now they're both stabilizing. But for OBP format I think I'd stick with Meidroth.

AL only with Ks.  When Arrighetti comes back (hopefully soon), I am thinking of dropping Sugano or Severino -- pitchers that I watch while holding my breath.  Or I could just bench them until they improve.  Which pitcher do you like better ROS:  Sugano or Severino?
Ray Murphy
11:23
I'd drop em both actually. Severino just keeps getting lit in Sacramento, and it's only going to get hotter there. Sugano was eating innings early on, but that bubble seems to have burst.

Hey hey my friend Ray! ROS who do you prefer in 16 team 5x5 with OBP: at 2b: Keith, India, Estrada. At 3b India or Marte. At OF: Sanchez, Larnach or Adell? I have been mixing and matching so far. Any you think not worth holding? Thanks!
Ray Murphy
11:24
I'm about ready to give up on Estrada. Mixing and matching the rest seems like the right approach.

Hi Ray. In a league with 4 IL spots, I’m stashing I. Herrera, M. Chapman, Ragans, and Bieber.  Would you drop any of these guys for Gelof? His walks are way up (27%) and strikeouts way down (15%) on his rehab stint at AAA. If he gets his CT% up over 70%, he could be really useful.
Ray Murphy
11:25
Don't really see a need to stash Herrera.
Rich
11:25
More context on my Gelof question: 12-team mixed H2H OBP league. Thanks!
Ray Murphy
11:25
Yes, Gelof for Herrera.

5x5 NL only league - please rank ROS. B. Woodruff, C. Kershaw, B.. Roupp, D. May. Thanks!
Ray Murphy
11:25
I think you ride Kershaw as long as he's healthy. No idea what to expect from Woodruff. So Kershaw, May, Roupp, Woodruff.
Lou

Thanks for the Friday chat, Ray. 12-team, NL-only, dynasty. Opportunity to pick up 5 points in saves and have two potential trade targets: Helsley and Megill. With Cards in the WC hunt, is Helsley more than likely staying put? Which carries the least acquisition risk?
Ray Murphy
11:27
I think I worry a bit more about Megill trade risk just because they have the deeper bullpen and the track record of cashing in relievers even when they're contending (Hader, Williams), and Uribe is ready to be plugged in there if needed.

Hey Ray. In a 16 teamer where we keep 11-13 players, I'm trying for my 4th consecutive title. Do I push the chips to the middle and trade Misiorowski for Cease or hold out and potentially get another piece? Mis is essentially my 5th starter behind Wheeler, Webb, Framber and H Greene.
Ray Murphy
11:27
Flags fly forever, and young pitchers get hurt. Go get Cease.
Brian K
11:28
Good Morning Ray, 5X5 16 team mixed. With Griffin Canning getting hurt yesterday, do you think the Mets will bring up some of their young hurlers from AAA or stick with veterans like Blackburn until the trade deadline.
