ARTHUR HILL
12:01
Welcome to this week's chat. We'll start with a question on the Mavericks.
Mark Cuban
12:02
win or lose, is Kyrie going to stay content as an elder statesman and being the #2 player on a team?  Did I thru a miracle actually get a bargain when I signed him?  Whew!
ARTHUR HILL
12:04
It would have been hard to imagine a year ago, but Irving seems like a huge bargain and the draft assets Dallas gave up look like a small price to pay for a player of his caliber. This is the most mature and focused version of Kyrie that we've ever seen, and he seems content being the second star alongside Luka.

If the pistons and monty Williams parted ways? Where would monty Williams land? If the Lakers do not hire Reddick and could you see them hire?
ARTHUR HILL
12:07
I don't think Monty Williams would be in hurry to find his next job. He had to be talked into coaching in Detroit, and the guaranteed money he has left on his contract with the Pistons will keep him comfortable for a long time. A new candidate could still emerge in the Lakers' coaching search, but virtually every report points to Redick as the favorite, so that's what I expect to happen.

12:07
Will the Grizz draft, or trade for, their starting center?
ARTHUR HILL
12:10
There's a report this week that they're trying to trade up to No. 3 in hopes of drafting Donovan Clingan. That will be their first option -- trying to move up in the draft and find a solid rim protector on a rookie contract. If that doesn't work out, then they'll explore trade options.

Will Kerr finally ditch the Small Ball approach?  All of the Final Four playoff teams field traditional Big men.
ARTHUR HILL
12:11
The Warriors don't really have the personnel to make a traditional approach work. Especially if they re-sign Klay Thompson, which I expect to happen, they'll stick with the same philosophy they've had since Kerr became their coach.

12:12
If Bronny in the 2nd round and is picked before Lakers pick will the Lakers trade a future 1st round pick to get him on the Laker's team?
ARTHUR HILL
12:14
No, the Lakers are saving their first-rounders for bigger targets, and LeBron has said Bronny's destination won't be a huge factor in his summer decisions. However, don't discount the possibility that Klutch Sports might "discourage" a few other teams from taking Bronny on the second night of the draft, especially as we get close to the Lakers' pick.

Would the Hawks accept this offer from the Spurs for D. Murray? #8 pick in this draft, Top 5 Lottery protected pick next year, and Keldon Johnson?
ARTHUR HILL
12:17
It's a decent offer, and I don't expect the Spurs to be a bottom five team next season, so there's a good chance the pick would convey to Atlanta in a loaded draft. Of course, it depends on what the other offer are, and there are teams that could top it, particularly if the Hawks are focused on draft assets. I still think they'd prefer to move Young rather than Murray.
Kim
12:18
Good morning. Why would the Hawks be interested in Brandon Ingram and why would the Pelicans be interested in Trae Young? I keep hearing these rumors and it makes no sense to me, Do you agree? Thanks.
ARTHUR HILL
12:21
I don't think Young is the right point guard for the Pelicans. He's used to dominating the ball, and New Orleans needs to run its offense through Zion Williamson as much as possible. Ingram would be a nice scorer for the Hawks, but they need to think bigger if they're giving up Young or Murray.

Do you think the Sixers will sign Miles Bridges to a max-deal offer sheet , daring the Hornets to match it?
ARTHUR HILL
12:24
I don't see him as the Sixers' primary target, and I wouldn't risk max money on him considering his legal history. But Philadelphia might make some kind of offer if its other options don't work out. Rod Boone of the Charlotte Observer suggested the Pistons might have interest in Bridges, and they're probably a greater threat to the Hornets than the Sixers are.

Over/under odds Thunder can swing a trade for Durant? 5%?
ARTHUR HILL
12:27
I wouldn't go much higher than 5%. It's a deal that can look good on paper, and a KD homecoming would be a great story, but Mat Ishbia isn't going to give him up. That was his first major move after buying the Suns, and he's too heavily invested in Durant to consider trading him.

Any thoughts on Bulls draft or free agency targets?
ARTHUR HILL
12:31
The Bulls could have used some lottery luck. The talent in this year's draft starts to fall off after the first 8-10 picks, so they're likely looking at a long-term project at No. 11. In free agency, I expect them to re-sign DeMar DeRozan to a 2- or 3-year deal. They have limited assets to spend, and they don't want a big tax bill for a play-in team.

True or False: This is the Wolves' ceiling with KAT as the team's 2nd best player
ARTHUR HILL
12:36
I think it might be. Towns' history of inconsistent playoff performances and unnecessary foul trouble makes it tough to picture him as an important cog on a title team. Plus the West looks like it's going to be loaded for years to come. He's about to become one of the highest-paid players in the league, so I expect a trade before his contract expires.

The next Cavaliers coach is... ( a surprise candidate )
ARTHUR HILL
12:39
I expect it to be Kenny Atkinson, but the Cavs are still early in the process, so it's hard to say. They'll be looking for a coach that matches up with their plan for the future, whether that's keeping the Mitchell-Garland-Mobley-Allen core together or breaking it up.

Hi It seems that the new minimum games requirement for all nba seemed to motivate everyone to play more games and do less load management.  Then many stars were out for the playoffs due to injury so wondering if you think the two were related?
ARTHUR HILL
12:43
Stars are hurt by playoff time every year, so it's too early to say if the new games limit had anything to do with it. Remember that injuries to Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard and Joel Embiid all affected playoff series last season. But the effects of the minimum games requirement is something the league, and especially the union, will watch closely.

What are the chances the Raptors draft Edey? Hometown talent is all the rage up here.
ARTHUR HILL
12:45
He'll definitely be in the mix for Toronto if he makes it to No. 19. There are several teams in the teens that need size, however, so it might require a trade up.

Do you think the Wizards go somewhere different than ZR if Sarr is taken and do you like the Brian Keefe hire.
ARTHUR HILL
12:49
I like the Keefe hiring a lot. Players seemed to respond to the coaching change, even though there wasn't an immediate improvement in the won-loss record. The Wizards finally have a quality front office, so I think Keefe will eventually succeed there if given time. It's hard to judge Risacher without ever having watched him play, but I would be looking for a defensive anchor like Clingan with the second pick.

12:49
Where am I playing next year?
ARTHUR HILL
12:51
Probably Miami. There's been a lot of speculation after Pat Riley's comments, but Butler's limited availability during the regular season knocks down his trade value. There may be a summer full of rumors, but most likely he stays where he is.
Keith
12:51
With the Bulls lowering their asking price for LaVine, would the Kings be a good fit? They need more offense. Can they put a good enough offer together to entice the Bulls?
ARTHUR HILL
12:53
The Kings will need to find another scorer if they lose Malik Monk in free agency, and that's something LaVine can provide if Sacramento is willing to take a risk on his future health and his hefty contract. And it probably won't take a great offer, since the Bulls reportedly haven't gotten much interest since they put LaVine on the market last fall.
Lebron James
12:54
How does my son POSSIBLY make it past the Knicks at 24/25?  Thibs isn't gonna play a rookie in year one anyway!!  And I'm the MISSING PIECE for those guys!!
ARTHUR HILL
12:55
After a certain point in the draft, it's going to be fun to speculate on who takes a chance on Bronny. I don't think it will be New York, but can you imagine the reaction from Knicks fans if it happens?
Nick
12:56
The Hornets have never been to a Conference Finals. Are they the most inept pro sports franchise?
ARTHUR HILL
12:58
There are a lot of contenders, but the Hornets are in that group. They haven't been a well-run organization for a long time, but the new ownership may be able to change that. There's a good base of young talent that they can add to in this year's draft, so at least they're moving in the right direction.

Do you think the sixers trade embiid if they don't advance this coming year and start building around maxey
