Lots of questions to get through in a short amount of time today. Will try to be brief with my answers to get through as many as we can!
Toronto
12:31
How many of the Raptors core players are traded before Thursday?  The group will be too expensive to keep together and they have shown they aren't working together effectively.  Thanks
Luke Adams
12:32
I assume by "core" we're talking VanVleet, Siakam, and Anunoby? I'd be a bit surprised if it's more than one and absolutely shocked if it's more than two.

Assuming he is bought out/released, who do you see as potentially signing Dewayne Dedmon?
Luke Adams
12:32
Maybe Sixers or Nuggets? But considering he wasn't getting minutes on a team that could've used him, I don't think there will be much of a bidding war.
Andrew
12:32
What is the likelihood that Porzingis will NOT exercise his player option after this season?  And if not, should the Wizards look to move him at the deadline?
Luke Adams
12:33
I expect he'll opt out, but I doubt the Wizards seriously consider trading him this week. They're in a good position to re-sign him for a similar amount to what he's making now.
Bango Buck
12:33
Who, if any, are some players not named Jae Crowder that the Bucks are rumored to be in on?
Luke Adams
12:34
Have seen them linked to Eric Gordon and Bojan Bogdanovic, among others. It will be tricky for the to salary-match guys in that $18-20MM range though, which is why someone like Crowder is a more realistic target.
Southside Bull
12:34
The Bulls can't stand pat can they?  They need to pick a lane.  Add scoring depth and go for it, or blow it up and trade of the major assets.  Which do you think they will do and why?
Luke Adams
12:35
Standing pat wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. They could still trade LaVine and/or DeRozan in the offseason if they want to, and the way the market is set up, Vucevic would need their help (via sign-and-trade) if he wants to join a contender. In other words, they could push a decision to the summer, when they have a better sense of Lonzo Ball's outlook.

With Korkmaz 'demanding' a trade, is there even an interesting target/pick that could come of that?
Luke Adams
12:36
I think we're calling that a trade "request" rather than a "demand," right? Anyway, the Sixers can't expect to get anything of value for Korkmaz unless they attach him to a more desirable piece (like Thybulle, or a draft pick). Korkmaz has negative value on his own.

Is there less overt tanking than you expected, especially with the potential stars at the top of the draft? It seems like fringe-contender group is large, and they're not all that interested in selling.
Luke Adams
12:38
A lot of the tanking in the last couple years has happened after the trade deadline (ie. the Blazers absolutely bottoming out down the stretch last year as all their good players sat out with injuries). I think we could still see some of that in the next couple months.
Celtics
12:38
Is there even any smoke to the Durant to Boston for Brown and pieces rumor that was floated yesterday?
Luke Adams
12:39
We generally don't run stuff that comes from Stephen A. Smith because he's more of a pundit than a reporter these days and doesn't really have to worry about vetting sources and information. Doesn't mean there's nothing to it, but his hit rate isn't exactly 100% on this stuff.

With the TD fast approaching, what are the odds of a team lacking D taking a punt on Ben Simmons? Even to a rebuilding team, he’s still relatively young and showed in Philly how good he really is. Maybe some time out the limelight might do him some good.
Luke Adams
12:41
If there's a team out there that still believes in Simmons, now is probably the time to roll the dice. His trade value has never been lower. I don't see a deal happening this week though -- his cap hit is too high and he's still too much of a question mark both physically and mentally.

Do you predict there will be 1 or 3 trades tomorrow? Or almost all on deadline day?
Luke Adams
12:42
We generally get a little action during the Mon-Wed of trade deadline week. Last year we had five during that time. With just one so far this year, I think we'll get at least one or two more.

Shouldn’t the Pistons be taking this time to accumulate as many picks they can by trading their vets now?  Even if Cade was there now they aren’t a playoff team yet.  Keeping them here for another year or two and then watching them leave or retire means they are worse off.  Wouldn’t having those future picks be better for a rebuilding club to have knowing once they got good they could add a piece?
Luke Adams
12:44
For what it's worth, Bogdanovic and Burks could both be traded during the summer or at next year's trade deadline, so it's not as if they're committed to hanging onto them until free agency. I'm in favor of moving them now while their stock is high, but I understand why the Pistons might be reluctant, for culture reasons, to get rid of all their productive veterans and leave the kids on their own.

No trade rumors regarding the Kings. Do you see this deadline as a quiet one for Sacramento?
Luke Adams
12:44
Yeah, I doubt they'll want to mess much with the chemistry that's gotten them this far. If they do anything, it'll probably be addressing the backup center spot (they keep getting linked to Mason Plumlee).

This seems like the perfect time for the Lakers to reverse the Russ trade and break his contract up into smaller pieces and operate as an over the cap team.  Any reason they wouldn't do this?
Luke Adams
12:46
I'm skeptical that simply acquiring Hachimura made the Lakers close the door on the possibility of maximizing their cap room this summer. As it stands, they still have the flexibility to make a move for a star free agent (Kyrie?) if they want to -- that would become a lot trickier if they traded Russ' contract for a bunch of multiyear deals.

The CBA expiration seems to be hanging over everyone's heads. Do you think that will that stifle any significant moves this tradining deadline?
Luke Adams
12:48
I doubt it. There was one report about how loosening the veteran extension rules might make teams more inclined to take a shot on a player like OG Anunoby (knowing the CBA tweaks would give them a better chance to extend him), but there will be plenty of teams willing to make offers for Anunoby even if the current rules remain in place.

Since it's a near given that Draymond Green will be either opting out or potentially traded during the off season due to salary issues and the luxury tax, what is the likelihood of him being traded by the deadline?
Luke Adams
12:48
Near zero, unless he asks for it, which I can't see happening this week.

Any chance the Pels go all-in and acquire both Van Vleet and Anunoby? Would a combination of picks, Dyson Daniels, Herb Jones, + salary filler (Hayes, Graham) get it done without including Trey Murphy?
Luke Adams
12:49
It's a long shot, but the Pelicans have the pieces to do it. A package that starts with Daniels, Jones, and some first-round picks would be strong.

If a player like Rudy Gay has a player option for next year, is he eligible to be bought out? Would he have to agree to waive that option in order to get bought out?
Luke Adams
12:50
He could be bought out, but if he doesn't agree to waive that option, the Jazz would be on the hook for paying it out (in other words, there'd be little incentive to buy him out unless they really want to open up a roster spot).

The extension eligibility rules regarding Kyrie had me a little confused, are you able to explain the rules and restrictions regarding traded player’s eligibility to extend with their new teams.
Luke Adams
12:52
Sure -- once a player is traded, he becomes ineligible to sign an extension that makes his contract longer than three years (including the current season) or includes a raise of more than 5%. So Kyrie could get a two-year deal with 5% raises from Dallas, but wouldn't be able to get more years or more money until the offseason. The inverse of this rule is also why some players who sign extensions can be traded immediately and some can't be traded for six months (the ones who can't be traded were either signed for more than three years or got a raise exceeding 5%, or both).

I think the Suns' offer for Irving was stronger than the Mavs', do you agree?
Luke Adams
12:54
I think I actually prefer the Mavs' deal. Chris Paul is a Hall of Famer and Jae Crowder has had a really strong career, but I'm not sure how much they're doing this year to help you win a title, and Crowder's contract is up this summer. The Nets got more youth and more future control with the Mavs' package.

Who/what is the most likely upgrade for the Grizzlies? They have so much draft capital and some ostensibly movable young pieces.
