Could the Bulls trade Zach Lavine for 4+ first round picks?
Dana Gauruder
4:31
Only if the Bulls front office finds a rival GM who wants to get fired. No, LaVine's value has tanked, especially with his bloated contract and injury issues. He'd be very difficult to deal and they'd be fortunate to get one or two firsters as part of the package.

Do you think Washington would trade Kyle kuzma and do you think the 76ers wood and should be interested
Dana Gauruder
4:35
First of all, Kuzma is not eligible to be traded until mid-January. There are no untouchables on Washington's roster and they'd be open to trading Kuzma if they got some draft assets for them. The good thing about Kuzma's contract is that it's frontloaded, which makes it more moveable. As for Philly, maybe he'd be the kind of piece that gives them an extra boost for the postseason. They have expiring contracts, which makes them a good trade partner for Washington, or just about any team.
Should be noted, though, that Morey wants to protect his cap money, so he'd really have to be convinced Kuzma would be a big upgrade.

Which nba coaches will be let go this season?
Dana Gauruder
4:38
The NHL is way ahead of the NBA in that regard -- they've already had 3 or 4 coaches fired. When you go down the list, not many teams where you could see that happening. Maybe Donovan. Bickerstaff is a possibility, though the injuries give Cava a built in excuse. Maybe Jenkins, though Morant's absence is another built in reason for him to retain the job.

Would Tobias Harris make the Pistons contenders?
Dana Gauruder
4:39
Luka Doncic and Joel Embiid would make them contenders. They're a disaster. Harris had some good years for them, they could desperately use a vet like that to make them somewhat respectable. But the Pistons look hopeless at this point.

I feel like the Warriors and the media are downplaying Draymond Green's behavior because he is well liked, respected, a champion, Steph's buddy, etc..  However, if a two way player did the same things he would have been bounced out of the league a long time ago.  Why does who he is or who he is friends with matter here?  All they're doing is telling him its ok and its not helping him...
Dana Gauruder
4:42
That's pretty much how it is in most sports -- the better you are, the more second, third, fourth chances you get. Look at Antonio Brown in NFL, for example. He was key part of several championships -- his toughness and edgy play makes him valuable. But he has crossed the line too many times and I don't think sitting out for an extended period will change it. Would a team like Pistons considering bringing him in and teaching them how to win?

Enjoy your show. Would you advise keeping Westbrook in a points league or has the proverbial ship sailed as a T- dubs machine ? Also is Markkanen probable for a trade ? 🏀
Dana Gauruder
4:44
We don't cover fantasy here but I don't think Westbrook is going to put significant numbers this season with Harden, Leonard and George on the squad. Markkanen has been a hot name in trade rumors, given he pumped up his value last season during his breakout. Plus, he has a team-friendly contract. I could see him getting moved to a contender if the Jazz get a sweet offer.

Seems like the Jazz are ready to make room for some of their younger players. What are the chances Jordan Clarkson will be traded before the deadline? What could the Jazz get for him?
Dana Gauruder
4:46
I think they could get at least a future firster for him, or multiple second-rounders but players to match salaries. He's got a very friendly contract two next seasons and he's a proven scorer, so I'm sure contenders would like to have a guy like that coming off the bench.

Given the sheer amount of trade ammo they have, is it possible (not saying likely) that the Thunder could pull off two monster trades (for Lauri and D-Mitch for example)?
Dana Gauruder
4:48
I don't think they'd have any desire to do that. I could them pouncing closer to the deadline for one impact player, perhaps a major bench piece or maybe a guy like Anunoby or Siakam. They can afford to take shots at potential rentals with all those extra picks.

When will the pistons win a game?😂 & is Bogdanovic a trade target for any contender?
Dana Gauruder
4:50
They'll win a game one of these weeks. Incredibly, it's not out of the question they could go 0-for-the month two consecutive months! Doubt they'll win tonight in Atlanta. Maybe their game vs. Utah or Brooklyn.
4:51
As for Bogdanovic, good chance he'll be dealt. I'm sure they'll be shopping for a first rounder for him.

How much value will Jeremiah Grant have when he is eligible to be traded?
Dana Gauruder
4:54
His eligibility comes in mid-January. He's putting up solid numbers -- 22.7 PPG is a career high. He signed a long term deal, so the acquiring team would really have to look at him as a long term piece to the lineup. Probably could get some draft assets, at least one first rounder, as part of the package. Depends if the other team throws in a promising young player (or two).
No Fun Cavs
4:54
With the Cavs underperforming...any chance we fire JB and bring in Budenholzer? We need to shake it up!!
Dana Gauruder
4:56
Doesn't help that Mobley and Garland are out for an extended period. That might actually save Bickerstaff for at least another month or 2. They're going to have to rely heavily on Mitchell and Allen. Budenholzer would be an interesting choice to replace him, though it's unusual to hire an outside in mid-season. Snyder's hiring with the Hawks last year was an exception.

Do you see the Knicks trading Immanuel Quickley and draft picks as part of a package to acquire a 3-and-D player?
Dana Gauruder
4:58
I could definitely see Quickley being dealt. They were unable (or unwilling) to sign him to a rookie scale extension during the offseason. He'll be a restricted free agent after the season. Will that package but enough to get a guy like Anunoby? Remains to be seen but if the draft picks are desirable enough, they should be able to acquire a starting wing.

Do you think the phoenix suns will pick up a veteran point guard at some point or they're okay with Book and Beal running the show
Dana Gauruder
5:01
Interesting notion. Let's put it this way -- with Ishbia as owner, anything can happen there. Another possibility is the buyout market. Tough question to tackle because the Big 3 haven't played together due to Beal's ongoing injuries.

If in the crazy chance, green gets traded from the warriors. What team will be the best fit for him
Dana Gauruder
5:04
A team trying hard to take the next step, maybe the Heat or Knicks in the East? Kings or Mavs in the West? For a non-contender, the Pistons would be a consideration. He's a Michigan native and would be welcome home.

5:04
I know it's a little far ahead but if you are the spurs GM Which summer free agent are you going after hard and who fits best with Wemby
Dana Gauruder
5:06
The one thing they desperately need is a starting point guard. They seem to have settled on the notion that Jones is best suited in a backup role and they really don't have another true PG. He needs a steady pick-and-roll partner. The free agent market is pretty thin but that's the kind of player that immediately comes to mind.
KJ
5:07
I know it's still early. But if they did a draft redraft is the top5 still the same?
Dana Gauruder
5:08
I assume you mean this past draft? I would think Lively, George, Coulibaly might be considerations but who would they bump? Only player who comes to mind is Amen Thompson but that's because he's been out most of the season.

5:09
is brodgen a good fit for the sixers?
Dana Gauruder
5:10
He'd be a good fit for a lot of teams. I definitely could see them looking for vet help in the backcourt.
Detroit
5:10
If you were Troy Weaver, what would you do to help the Pistons actually win some games? They've had absolutely embarrassing performances lately, they look like they should be relegated to the G League.
Dana Gauruder
5:12
For one, I would tell Monty to ride with Ivey and Thompson in his lineup. Don't get the zeal to play Hayes and Stewart heavy minutes. Duren has to play a lot when he returns as well. That's the main thing --- develop chemistry among Ivey, Cade, Thompson and Duren. Everybody else is really inconsequential at this point. Yeah, they should move guys like Bogie, Burks, etc for assets but developing those young lottery picks in the main thing.

Long time coming with this one. Am finally catching you guys when I’m not in a meeting with Draymond about one of his latest transgressions. So real quick: I say the most perplexing feature of the mostly gimmicky IN-SEASON TOURNAMENT was the group play setup. Let’s see…..six groups of five teams. Hm. Hey, how bout reminding everyone there are actually DIVISIONS in each conference of the NBA, League Office?! Safe to say that’s the final nail in the coffin for the current divisions as we know them? Maybe LeBron has far greater pull with league decisions than we originally imagined??What was your biggest gripe with the thankfully-over “tournament”?
Dana Gauruder
5:16
Lots of questions -- I'll address the last one. I think if you hold an in-season tournament, it should happen a little later. Perhaps have the semis and finals during the holidays? Or better yet, have the in-season tourney final replace the All-Star Game? The ASG has turned into a joke anyway. You could honor the players selected to be All-Stars on the same night and then hold a tournament final that actually has some meaning.
