Do you expect Siakam to be traded?
Dana Gauruder
11:03
I was surprised Anunoby was traded more than a month before the deadline. Siakam is a different case because he seems intent on testing the market, regardless of where he goes. That's why non-contenders like the Pistons have been thrown into the mix -- he may serve certain teams as a means to open up more cap space for the summer. Ultimately, I do think the Raptors will trade him but I don't think anything is imminent.

11:03
Is Griffin on the hot seat with the Bucks will they replace him during season Terry Stotts knows the roster and was Lillard HC for 9 years
Dana Gauruder
11:07
Stotts quit the staff before the season seemingly because he wasn't given the respect most coaches of his stature normally receive when they become top assistants. It's always going to be a case where the front office wants to appease their best player and Giannis has lobbed some criticism toward Griffin. However, he's still in his first season, it's his first head coaching job, so I think Horst will cut him some slack unless there's a full scale revolt. Giannis got the star he wanted when they traded for Lillard. We haven't even reached midpoint of the season, so let's see how this plays out for a full season before judging Griffin.

Hello, can the Mavs obtain a center like Drummond or start using Holmes in their rotations. They struggle without Lively not much rebounding or rim protection out there sometimes. Your thoughts?
Dana Gauruder
11:09
Drummond's played really well for the Bulls lately, so it would be a matter of what their front office approach is at the trade deadline. The Mavs were linked to Capela during the offseason, so I'd think they will look to fortify that position. Drummond would be a good add but again, depends on how the Bulls play over the next month or so.

Do you see the Orlando Magic picking up a piece or two at the deadline? If so, what positions?
Dana Gauruder
11:12
Perhaps another 3-point threat? The Pistons have a couple they might be interested in (Bogie, Burks).  Carter's health issues could motivate them to look for another big body, similar to the previous question about the Mavs.

What’s more likely the Suns fire Vogel or trade one of the big 3
Dana Gauruder
11:13
They'd be giving up on Vogel awfully quick but the Big 3 aren't going anywhere. We haven't really seen them play together for any period of time yet. Patience must be exercised.

Do I have a shot at a reserve roll on the All-Star team?
Dana Gauruder
11:14
Unlikely. Just too many good candidates out there.

Can the Knicks extend OG before the season is over or do they have to wait until he declines his option.  Is he a max contract guy?
Dana Gauruder
11:17
Technically, they could sign him to an extension but it's not going to happen. He's only eligible for a two-year, 40 mill extension at the moment. He'll get far more than that after the season. Reports say he'll get more than four-year, 118 mill extension he could have signed with the Raptors. He won't get a max deal but he'll get plenty - probably around a 25 mil per deal.

6 1sts Fournier Robinson and one more salary peice for Embiid - what says Philly?
Dana Gauruder
11:19
Unless Embiid pulls a Simmons and won't play anymore in Philly, they say 'Keep dreaming.' They already went through The Process years ago.

If warriors trade Wiggins what is his value? Could they actually get a 1st round pick for him?
Dana Gauruder
11:22
It looks that if the Warriors do anything with the rotation pieces, he'll be the one to go. Golden State would probably want cap relief first and foremost (expiring contracts) but I could see scenarios where a firster is included. But it would probably be heavily protected.

Jazz are playing well. You’re Danny Ainge. Do you still move Clarkson?
Dana Gauruder
11:25
They are playing well and they've got a long homestand coming up. I don't see the Jazz doing anything major in the next few weeks. My sense is the front office will evaluate where they are in the standings at the end of the month, then decide whether to start moving pieces. Siakam might be one of the guys in play if they decide to do anything big.

Do you see dejonte Murray as a fit for the sixers and do you think he would cost us 2 first rounders?
Dana Gauruder
11:28
The No. 1 thing regarding a player like Murray is -- will he move the needle enough to get the Sixers past the other East contenders? Morey will have to feel that way to give up a big chunk of his offseason cap space. Yes, they'd have to give up picks and expiring contracts to make that move. It's more a matter of -- is he the missing piece to a championship? I'm not sure he is.

With Ja being out for the season, do you see any team trying to capitalise and try to make a trade? And if so would you be surprised if Memphis don’t entertain? Granted he is a top guard but the whole drama behind the scenes must be taking its toll. With JJJ and Bane they have 2 very good players with AllNBA upside already, would you be shocked if they traded an injured Ja for assets and a starting PG like Garland/Mitchell, Brunson, Trae/Murray, VanVleet or even take a swing on Lamelo? All are top guards who can contribute now and to be able to get some assets too is a plus. The drawback is any team that do trade for him are pretty much throwing in the towel on their season to be able to get Ja.
Dana Gauruder
11:33
I don't see trading an injured Ja as an option for the Grizzlies. He's the one superstar they have and there's only precious few of those types of players in the league. I could see them moving some other vets like Smart and Kennard. But with Jackson, Bane and Ja, you've got some pretty good building blocks toward a title contender. I don't think Memphis is going to give that up.

After the O.G. trade, what's next??  Plans for the deadline?  Plans/targets for the offseason?  I'd like to see a championship at some point.
Dana Gauruder
11:38
Not as long as Lions fans have been waiting for a Super Bowl but it's been quite a drought. Clyde Frazier, DeBusschere, Bradley, etc. since they tasted a championship. Well, as someone else mentioned earlier, they do have those extra picks and Fournier to dangle, so they'll still be looking to add to the mix. Just not sure there's a superstar/All-Star level talent out there for them to acquire. I saw another question regarding the possibility of the Celtics perhaps dealing Jaylen Brown in the offseason. I think we'll have to see how the postseason plays out but that's the type of player they'll be seeking in the offseason. In the short run, they may look to add a rotation piece but I doubt they'll be involved in another blockbuster.

Do you think Magic make a move to upgrade their backcourt or give it another year to mature? Dejounte Murray would seem like a good fit given their preference for longer guards who can defend.
Dana Gauruder
11:40
He'd make a lot of sense for the Magic. Would Atlanta deal him within the division? Otherwise, that's the type of player who could blend in with Banchero and Wagner.

Which happens first: Hornets make just a Conference Finals, Hornets move again, NBA (or society as a whole) shuts down
Dana Gauruder
11:43
They seem a long way from a conference final. However, given the fact that the NBA has dragged its feet on expansion for quite awhile -- let alone allowed a current franchise to move -- and they're not going out of business, I'd say the Hornets in the conference finals is the most likely to happen first.

I am not sure why the Bucks traded for Dame and then give him the same amount of touches as Jrue Holiday. Jrue is the far better defensive player but Dame is the far better offensive player, but they are using Dame the same way they used Jrue. It seems like even with Dame's attempts to synergize with Giannis it is not working as well offensively to make up the difference in losing Jrue's defense. Last night the Bucks were down 31 at halftime and lost by 16 to the Jazz at home. Albeit without Dame. They are second in the East, and there is time to figure it out before the Playoffs. They look like a team that needs to make some moves, but are limited in what they can do. Ideas?
Dana Gauruder
11:48
I had to do a quick check. Lillard is averaging 17.2 shots per game. A little bit lower than he took in Portland, but he didn't have a Giannis playing with him there. Holiday averaged 14.2 and 15.3 shots his last 2 seasons with Bucks, but Middleton missed a lot of time, so they needed him to be the No. 2 option. Lillard's usage should uptick as the season goes along -- we're still in the first half of the sched. The bigger issue for the Bucks has been their recent defensive slippage. And you're right about their personnel limitations. They went all in for Dame and also re-signed Brook. They could add a rotation piece but I can't see a pathway for a major trade. Best hope is for the current group to figure it out and grow into their roles.

Sure, things don’t look so good RIGHT NOW for the Golden State Warriors. We do, however, have high expectations we can climb back to elite-team-status - WITH Steph still in tow. It all has to do with what we view as being tremendous payroll flexibility in the coming seasons; especially if we can find a taker for Andrew Wiggins at the trade deadline. The CP3 experiment will be a one-and-done, Klay knows he’s gonna have to take a huge paycut to remain with us beyond ‘24, and the fact both of our recent draft picks are already playing big minutes gives us even more financial room to work with for ‘25 and ‘26. Steph ABSOLUTELY needs more help on the offensive end. It’s our plan to provide him just that - maybe not THIS season, per se, but bet your bottom dollar it’s coming. Are you feeling as peachy as I am about the outlook for Steph Curry’s “golden” years with the Dubs?
Dana Gauruder
11:53
The one thing you've always got with the Warriors is they always have a championship or bust mentality. The year Steph got injured was the only time they basically punted a season. They're not into the rebuilding mindset. However, the competition is fiercer now -- OKC, Phoenix, Denver, Minnesota, New Orleans, etc. Not many bad or mediocre teams anymore, so the Warriors are going to have to make some very wise decisions to stay viable contenders in Steph's remaining seasons. Not impossible, but won't be easy.

Any news on the Heat and the deadline. I know Jimmy has some years, kind of fed up with him being injury prone. Sorry, separate rant there.  Basically the first part is the question.
Dana Gauruder
11:56
After striking out on Lillard, I understand where you are coming from. Once again, the Heat are hanging around the race with some underrated moves. Jaquez was a very nice pick in the draft. But yes, I do see them making an upgrade at the deadline. I don't think they can overcome Boston, Philly, Milwaukee, etc. once again with the current roster.

Saw you had OG Anunoby at $25 million per year... that's at least $10 less than he'll get. I think the Knicks sign him closer to $40.
Dana Gauruder
11:58
You may be right but wow, that's an awful lot for a guy who is just considered a solid starter rather than an All-Star.

Where does Bojan Bogdnaovic end up?
Dana Gauruder
12:00
Could you see him with the Mavs or Wolves? I could. There's a lot of places he could wind up. I'm sure he'll be glad to get out of the misery that the Pistons have become.
