The Bulls really gonna not sell? Just stay in NBA Hell for the foreseeable future?
Dana Gauruder
11:03
That's a situation could go either way. Sometimes, it's hard for a front office to go all in (adding Vuc, DeRozan, Ball, re-signing Zach) and then admitting it's not working out. I still think there's a good chance DeRozan gets dealt before the deadline, at the very least.

Anunoby needs to go for the Raps. Too many forwards and he gets the best package.  O.G for Blazers Simons and Sharpe works for everyone ? I think Raps do it, would the blazers?
Dana Gauruder
11:06
Would be an interesting deal for the Raptors. Not sure if the Blazers would go for it. Trading Simons for a forward who's rep is built around defense wouldn't seem to be their best move. You'd really be putting more offensive burden on LIllard, Grant and Nurkic, so I don't think they'd want to do that. I also think if Anunoby goes, the Raptors would be more interested in getting some future No. 1s along with some usable players.

Is Draymond Green a good fit for the Hawks? I heard a podcast mention a swap between  him and John Collins ( to the Warriors). Thanks
Dana Gauruder
11:10
Wow, that would interesting. I don't know much the Warriors value Collins. Draymond is the key to Golden State's defense, so it would almost be an admission of giving up on this season and having no intention of re-signing him. Plus, they'd be adding more guaranteed payroll. I like the move for Atlanta -- they need a defensive minded forward to blend in with their high scoring guards. It would certainly be wild to see how he'd blend with Trae and Murray.

Should I go all in and make another home run trade again this year and get someone like Pascal from Toronto?
Dana Gauruder
11:14
That would definitely be an earth-shaker. It boils down who the Kings would give up in that scenario, right? They owe Atlanta a protected first-round, so that would complicate the process, since I'm sure the Raps would want a boatload of firsters as part of the package. But a Fox-Siakam-Sabonis core would certainly have the look of a championship contender.

Warriors fan.  With the Warriors mostly Losing with their Micro lineup approach, why is their Head Coach still sticking with it?  Small Ball works better when you have a Frontcourt scorer, which they no longer have in KD.  Just give Wiseman a chance.  its been a real struggle this year with the Decline of the Vets.
Dana Gauruder
11:19
It's certainly troubling that they're not using Wiseman at all. This was really a pivotal year after sitting out so much time the last couple of seasons due to injuries. They won a championship with Looney at center and dipped further into the luxury tax to retain him, so I have to believe Kerr will go back to that lineup soon. Right now, they're just trying to find something that works -- can't even put together a two-game winning streak at the moment.

Thanks 4 doing this! Will the Knicks look to add depth for a playoff run, get rid of NPC's like Rose, Fournier and Reddish or both?
Dana Gauruder
11:22
I think the Knicks will be active. Certainly, they'd love to unload Fournier's contract and Reddish has no role on the team. Rose has been a good soldier, so to speak, with being out of the rotation but if they can find a good spot to deal him, they'd do it. Getting Robinson back will be key for their defense but if they can add a quality rotation player to make themselves a more dangerous playoff contender, they'll go for it.

How come so few Players have Signed 10-day Contracts?  I see and read about Injuries all over the place.
Dana Gauruder
11:26
This season's been a little than the last couple. During the COVID outbreak, the rules were relaxed so that you could field a team if you had multiple players test positive. Now, we're back to the usual system where you need to have a open roster spot to sign a 10-day player. Only about half the teams have an open spot at the moment.

What do you see happening with Christian Wood in Dallas? Extension, trade or leaves in free agency?
Dana Gauruder
11:29
Dallas doesn't want another Brunson situation, so I'd have to believe they'd have a good feel what Wood's reps are asking for and whether it's a price they're willing to pay. If not, I think they'll actively shop him over the next week to see if they can get fair value and not damage their chances of making a deep playoff run this season.

11:30
With Mitchell Robinson out, Jericho Simms has stepped up and filled in nicely.  Can you see a player that the Knicks can get for Robinson that will help them now and in the future.
Dana Gauruder
11:33
Doubt it. While the Knicks seemed reluctant to commit to Robinson when he was still on the rookie contract, they did eventually give him a four-year extension. By NBA standards, his salary is reasonable. Now, if they were in a situation where they had an opportunity to acquire an All-Star level talent and the other team wanted Robinson as part of the package, that's a different story.

What happened to my Trail Blazers?  We were rolling.  Every team has Injuries, but some are still playing well without their Key players.
Dana Gauruder
11:37
Well, they have won the last couple of games -- granted one of them was vs. Spurs. I think they'll like to add a bench piece, or even another starting wing, but I don't sense a lot of panic coming out of Portland. But there are lot of teams hovering around .500 at the moment. The Blazers should remain in playoff contention as long as Lillard doesn't go down for a stretch.

11:37
what move do the Sixers need to make to keep this roll going for them?
Dana Gauruder
11:41
I don't see the Sixers doing much. Maybe they'll Thybulle if they get a decent offer. But their surge shows how much having a mostly healthy roster can do for a contender. Getting Maxey back this month has made all the difference.

Which Texas team looks like their Rebuild is will be more Successful, the Rockets or Spurs ?
Dana Gauruder
11:46
It's stunning to me to see a Popovich-coached team be the worst defensive team in the league. The Spurs always set such a high standard, particularly on the defensive end. Talent-wise, you'd think the Rockets would have the higher ceiling, though they haven't shown that this season. I'd say the Rockets rebuild will be more successful but I don't know if either team will make a playoff run in the next couple of years.

I think going all in by resigning LeBron means you "go for it" and this move for Hachimura which takes away cap space means their chance to improve the team must be thru trades now (Westbrook and Beverley) that secure role players to raise the talent level for the next two years rather than thru free agency.  Agree?
Dana Gauruder
11:50
The Hachimura move signaled that the Lakers are willing to do whatever they can to upgrade the team now and in the near future, rather than waiting for the offseason. LeBron and AD make so much money that even holding onto all those expiring contracts wouldn't allow the franchise to sign a top-level free agent. Plus, the free agent market this summer isn't all that enticing. If they can a similar move for a young, rotation player over the next week, they'll do it.
Bucks
11:51
Do the bucks make a move
Dana Gauruder
11:52
They've been one of the teams linked to Crowder, so I think they're shopping for an additional piece. Just getting Middleton back in the lineup on a regular basis would be more important than adding another rotation player. They've already won a championship with Giannis-Jrue-Middleton and can certainly do it again if all are healthy come playoff time.

Would a Hill,Ibaka 2 2nd round picks for Cam Reddish work
Dana Gauruder
11:55
They'll resolve the Ibaka situation one way or another. If they can't move him, a buyout seems likely. In terms of the Knicks, I don't see where Hill fits in. They've already got Rose and Fournier languishing on bench. Ibaka might help a little short term with Robinson out but the only enticement there would be the picks.

How far away are the Thunder from contention? They're in the mixed for a play-in spot without Holmgren, and their young core seems to only get better
Dana Gauruder
11:57
Yeah, you have to wonder how many more wins they'd have if Holmgren didn't go down in the offseason. With all those extra picks, they can also bring in a more seasoned impact player -- probably not in the next week but definitely in the offseason. Put it this way -- if you're a Thunder fan, you can now enjoy the fruits of the rebuild now and for the long term.

When will hornets start there fire sale? 🏀.
Dana Gauruder
11:59
Nobody has started their fire sale yet. We've only had a couple of trades so far. Everyone is still look for max value for their assets -- there will be a flurry of activity before the deadline. Just too much smoke out there, so the fire will ignite soon.

Should the Celtics look for more frontcourt help, or the current roster  can go all the way?
Dana Gauruder
12:00
They were in the Finals last year and they've got Brogdon now. They can definitely win with what they have.
