OK, kids, we're going to start our chat from the NFL combine in just a few minutes....
1:55
Ok, everyone, let's get started....Go!!!

Who do the Steelers pick in the first round if available: LB Devin Bush or CB Byron Murphy?
Gerry Dulac
1:56
Bush. Murphy too slight. Bush is a perfect fit for them, but I don't know if they will have a grade on him that befits a 20th overall pick

How big of an impact do you think it has on trading Brown that he has basically said he wants a new contract with guaranteed money?  I dont see him sitting out a season in protest at his age.
Gerry Dulac
2:01
I think it can have a big impact because it could scare teams who might have been willing to give up a high draft choice, maybe a No. 1 pick, for him. One of the things that makes AB attractive in a trade is a contract that is very cap friendly for a player of his stature. But, if a team thinks he might want a new deal after they give up a high draft choice for him, maybe a No. 1, they will likely become more reluctant to make a trade. So, yeah, it can hurt a lot, hurt the Steelers a lot.

Gerry.  Thanks so much for the chat. Since LB is gone do you see Tomlin using more of a shared Responsibility at running back instead of running someone “till the wheels fall off “.
Gerry Dulac
2:01
Nope. Why change now.

Have you corroborated the story that Rosenhaus was helping Brown try to force the Steelers to trade him?
Gerry Dulac
2:02
Nope. Drew Rosenhaus has always had a good relationship with the Steelers. It's part of the reason AB got the contract he did after only his second season with the Steelers. I doubt he would try to sabotage them deliberately

Given the low quality of FA WR's, lack of other top WR's on the trade block and the dearth of top level WR's available in the draft it should drive up the value of AB in spite of the Controversy surrounding him. Correct?
Gerry Dulac
2:03
I might not saying it will, but, yes, it very well could

What happens when Brown gets traded to another team and his antics are the same?  I really don’t see a change in scenery changing who he is
Gerry Dulac
2:03
If there was ever a sure prop bet, that's it. Leopards don't change their spots

I believe the Steelers have 7 picks in the entire draft right now.  If they choose 7 defensive players, I would not be sad.  How would you feel?
Gerry Dulac
2:04
You might not be sad, but that won't happen. But I will agree that at least four, and probably five, should be defense.

2:05
What do you think Mr. Rooney had to promise AB to get him to go into witness protection from Twitter?
Gerry Dulac
2:05
Funny.

What would be your best case scenario for this years offseason.  Thanks for your insight as always.
Gerry Dulac
2:06
Best case? The Steelers trade Brown and their 20th overall pick to the Oakland Raiders for their fourth overall pick. Is that best case or just wishful thinking?

You watched all of the Steelers games last year. Was there even one game where you felt Bud Dupree was a nine million plus a year type player? If his best isn’t worth 9 mil how in the world can his average performance be worth 9 mil?
Gerry Dulac
2:06
Nope. Not at all

Looking at the Steelers' 1st round draft choices since Tomlin started, there's six Pro-Bowlers (of a possible 12). In the same timeframe, Pats have 5 (and none were drafted since 2012). The Ravens have two. Can a PG staff writer do an article on this so the yinzers would shut up about talent evaluation?
Gerry Dulac
2:07
One thing the Steelers have done, for the most part, is hit a home run with their No. 1 picks. That is always the most important aspect of any draft for any team. Ask the Browns.

What would Boswell get on the FA market if the Steelers cut him? How can they pay a $2.5 million option bonus to a guy and have any realistic expectation that the "kicker competition" in training camp is real? Gotta turn that into an incentive package right or is the cap hit too great for them to make any real change?
Gerry Dulac
2:08
Unless he is a complete bomb in training camp and is shanking kicks off the stands at Chuck Noll Field, he is not going to be replaced.

Steelers play Jets, Cards & 49ers away. What's the likelihood they lose to the #1, #2 & #3 draft teams in the same year?
Gerry Dulac
2:09
I don't know about the likelihood, but I wonder when the last time that might have happened? If ever?
smullins43

If Bush. Greedy Williams, Murphy and cousin Brown are all there at 20....who is Gerry's pick?  Also, do you see momentum picking up in the late hours for the Brown trade and we steal a late first rounder for him? Gruden magic maybe?
Gerry Dulac
2:11
I take Bush. As for momentum, that will depend on how many teams are bidding for him.
Lloyd's 3-Count

Which of last year's new coaches would you give the highest marks? Lowest?
Gerry Dulac
2:12
Matt Nagy highest. Lowest: Steve Wilks

Hi Gerry is this a make or break year for Tomlin?
Gerry Dulac
2:12
It is a show-me year for sure.
Scott in Dallas
2:12
Can you give us a breakdown between Dobbs & Rudolph as the future of the QB position?
Gerry Dulac
2:14
Kevin Colbert was asked that question today at the combine and his response was the Steelers feel they have two good young quarterbacks. But, because they wanted to draft Rudolph in the second round until Martavis Bryant was traded and then moved up in the third round to get him, I think that should tell you which player they value more as their future.

How many players stayed in rentals last Training Camp Instead of on campus? Do you have an issue with it?
Gerry Dulac
2:15
Only one that I know. And, yeah, I do. Because other players rent houses for their families but always come back to stay and sleep with their teammates.

Hi Gerry, welcome back to Indy, the pothole capital of the world! Think we’ll see more of the same running game/short, quick throws from 7 (had fastest time to throw LY!) or more traditional handoff runs this fall? Also, you guys GOTTA get up to Bub’s Burgers in nearby Zionsville—I’d be happy to pick yinz up!
Gerry Dulac
2:17
Ideally, they would like not to throw as much as they did last year, but they will not go into 2019 with a prescribed pass-to-run formula. Tell me more about Bub's Burgers...??
