OK kids, we will start our chat in about 5 minutes so get ready...

OK, here we go....Fire away!!

Gerry - Thanks for the chats.  It sure looked like Kendrick Green was routinely pushed around and backward easily on Monday night.  Is there still the same optimism surrounding his development?  Moving him to guard not really an option as he would be more undersized there than at center?
Gerry Dulac
11:00
Yes he did. He seems to have trouble with bigger tackles and nose tackles. But not going to judge a rookie OL after one game or even a handful of games. They like what they see and he will get better.

Gerry… does Ben arm concern you?   Ron cook was saying on radio he just looks like he is pushing ball.  That pass to James Washington was so under thrown and it just seems anything over 20 yards the ball floats.  What say you
Gerry Dulac
11:02
What I say is that the pass to JW was underthrown because one of the Bears defenders hit his hand as he was throwing. And, on some shorter throws, yes, maybe he does push the ball a little. But watch closely, so do some other quarterbacks on those quickie routes. But, c'mon, it's not like he's shot-putting the ball

Gerry, why has AH fallen off? He should be thriving with TJ getting plenty of attention. The ubiquitous groin issues? Gracias.
Gerry Dulac
11:04
Actually, I think he's been better the past couple games, though not as much this game as he was against Seattle or even Cleveland.

Who is your qb next year.    Rudolph Haskins draft pick free agent
Gerry Dulac
11:04
It will be Rudolph or Haskins.

Is the Dan Moore experiment coming to an end soon? Is Banner worse than everyone on that line? He can't even be an active player on game days. Is he done?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
No it is not. And no Banner is not done. But he can't play left  tackle. You guys act like that is Anthony Munoz sitting on the sideline.

Gerry, Cranberry Highlands was better when they let the fescue grow, hackers and slow play be damned.  You ain't going to find it, play a cheaper ball and move on. Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:06
It's a municipal course designed for the average player, not tour players.

will tuitt be off IR today?   It’s beyond frustrating.  He is basically 15 mill cap hit.    People don’t seem to realize that is 1-2 very good starters at that number.  It’s time!!!!!
Gerry Dulac
11:07
I'll tell him.

Why was Maulet so involved in 1 on 1 coverage Monday night? He looked really bad. Are Tre Norwood coverage skills worse? When the Steelers hit the meat of their schedule coming up with accomplished QB's, will they survive in coverage on the back end?
Gerry Dulac
11:08
Like what happens a lot of times in the NFL, the Bears got a matchup in single coverage they liked and exploited it. Do you know why cornerbacks are used as nickel backs? Because they are better near the line of scrimmage than they are down the field.

11:09
Why do you think clock management is so bad around the league?  First the spike by Ben on second down with 40 seconds left, then the Bears decide their last timeout is more likely to help them by trying to ice Boswell rather than having a timeout for their potential go ahead drive.  So many coaches and teams make clock mistakes it’s baffling.
Gerry Dulac
11:11
I agree with the spike by Ben, but, in that instance, he was trying to catch the Bears while they were making a substitution and gain a 5-yard penalty for too many men. He actually did except for one thing -- the Bears had only 10 players on the field while they were trying to get the 11th off the field. Sometimes, screw ups are actually beneficial.

Hi Gerry, on a night when Ben completes 70%, throws 2 TDS, passer rating of 111 and executes his 50th career come from behind victory, the local media sniping continues “ clearly on his last legs”, “clearly not at his best”, “ badly underthrew James Washington”, etc. With what he has to work with (especially this year) and what he is asked to do the guy is 17-6 IN THE PAST TWO SEASONS! Who wouldn’t sign up for 17 and 6 ??? Is there an anti Ben agenda no matter what he does?
Gerry Dulac
11:11
Not sure if it's anti-Ben or anti-intelligence.

Gerry,         How much longer can this team rely on a quarterback that 3/4 of the passing tree is out of range, has no confidence throwing in the middle of the field and runs like a three-legged dog in quicksand?
Gerry Dulac
11:12
And, for proof, there ya go.....

Hi Gerry, Kendrick Green was bulldozed into the backfield continuously. Is he too small for an NFL center or too early to tell?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
He's not the biggest guy, but his weight is almost identical to Maurkice Pouncey's playing weight FYI

Hi Gerry. What is your prediction for Tuitt the rest of the way? Will we see him suit up down the stretch? He would be a big boost to the run D and pass rush.
Gerry Dulac
11:15
He would be a big boost to the defensive line and pass rush IF he is able to play up to his former level. That's a big IF right now. I have no prediction for his return because it appears the Steelers don't either. But, as you've heard me say, physically he is about ready to get back to practice after his knee surgery

During the Steelers 11-0 start I last season I kept thinking nice record, but this team really isn’t that good. I feel the same way about their current win streak. Does it say something about Tomlin’s coaching when a team that isn’t all that good still puts up wins?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
I think it says a lot. But it should also tell you that whistling past the graveyard is not always the way to go
REID
11:16
Hi Gerry, understand that middle and deep patterns take time to develop and pass protection isn’t there yet, but can’t Matt Canada come up with SOMETHING other than the 3 yard pass on 3rd and long where the receiver catches it out wide with no blockers?
Gerry Dulac
11:17
Wait a minute...is this question a holdover from 2020 and has been stuck in cyberspace???
Jerry
11:17
Hey Gerry! Why don’t corners look back for the ball anymore? Instead they play the man.
Gerry Dulac
11:19
Obviously, that's the way they are being taught. I'm with you, I'm puzzled by the technique. That's why there is so much pass interference called. The other thing they are obviously taught -- grab the guy, whether his jersey, his arm, anything. Don't let him get by you.
REID
11:19
Hi Gerry, Ray Ray replaced as the returner ? What are the options?
Gerry Dulac
11:19
Tomlin said no. Their best punt returner is Diontae Johnson, but that ain't happening.

Gerry, watching the Defense the past two weeks, would you say the secondary (corps unit) has become a weak link?
Gerry Dulac
11:20
No, I think the defensive line is more the weak line, except for Heyward, of course. But he can't do it all by himself, even though he is most of the time
Mercury
11:20
Was Fitzpatrick being used differently Monday night? He seemed to be getting to the ball carrier quicker.
Gerry Dulac

Same guy every week.
