OK, kids, let's get our chat started....Go!!!

Hi Gerry! Does Ian Berryman have a shot at taking the punting job? Certainly appears to have a booming leg.
Gerry Dulac
12:57
He has shown more of that leg at training camp than he did in the spring, which is good for him. To me, he needed to show more hang time here in Latrobe, and he has done that. He has bombed a couple punts already. I didn't think he had a chance based on what I saw at OTAs. I'm backing off that now.

Looks like a true battle is brewing between Kameron Kelly and Jordan Dangerfield. Who has the upper hand?
Gerry Dulac
12:58
Kelly has been getting most of the reps with the first team w Sean Davis out. Dangerfield is the better special teams player. I think both make the team

Hi Gerry.  Any one player you estimate COULD be a surprise impact player this year?
Gerry Dulac
12:58
James Washington. I'd say Terrell Edmunds, but not sure that would constitute a surprise. He will have a big impact in year 2

Hi Gerry it seems Haden will get done soon.. how likely is it to have Hargrave on a deal before season starts, I really think is Imperative to sign him now or I’m afraid he will be gone next offseason he is so important and also getting better year after year ..

I think it is fairly likely but not an emergency. The problem is, the Steelers will then have a lot of money tied up in their defensive lineman, beginning with Stephon Tuitt, if they sign Hargrave now. But I think it's something they would like to do.

Do you think that will help keep him healthy the way Tomlin likes to use RB?
1:01
Hi Gerry.  I read a report that Connor has put on a lot of muscle and is "ripped".
Gerry Dulac
1:01
Sometimes those tight muscles can work against you

Hi Gerry, I gather your not a fan of 45 being part of the offensive scheme.. Does the salary support Special Teams Only?
Gerry Dulac
1:02
Rosie Nix is a good special teams player and fullback. But I don't think he should be a big part of the offense, nor will he be.

Post-game Tomlin/Arians handshake...terse, normal, or friendly bro hug?
Gerry Dulac
1:03
Those two get along very well. It wasn't Tomlin who didn't want him when he wasn't renewed.  That decision went beyond Tomlin.

If Hodges beats out Dobbs for 3rd spot.. How much do they save in salary cap space ? Thanks
Gerry Dulac
1:04
First of all, Dobbs is the No. 2 QB, not No. 3, at least, as of right now. And I don't see Hodges winning a roster spot, despite how intriguing he has looked.

Do you see the Steelers trying to extend an offer to Sean Davis before the season starts? Thanks
Gerry Dulac

No

How many ILB’s make the final 53.... Five? - Any predictions after 55, 26, and 98...?
Gerry Dulac
1:06
They will keep 4 for sure, maybe 5. 44 is on the team because of special teams.

Gerry Who will be extended this offseason for sure in your view? Finney must be extended next offseason for sure he is even playing better than Ramon in my view.. can’t let him walk ! Thoughts ?
Gerry Dulac
1:07
Finney signed a one year tender for $3 million this season, so, yes, they will have to extend him. But that won't be till the offseason when they see how much Foster still has in the tank.

I’m curious if you are aware of how other teams with older QBs manage the reps in pre season?  Do they play more than one game.  Ben has started slow the past couple years because he doesn’t get enough reps in camp.
Gerry Dulac
1:08
He gets plenty of reps in camp, just not in games, but that is also a by product of how the game is played now because of the salary cap and how much money QBs are paid. That's life in the NFL.

Hi Gerry, Haven't heard much about Artie. How is he doing at the camp. Do you think we will have solid backups on cornerback position as Artie and Justin?
Gerry Dulac
1:09
Artie has been OK, nothing great. If it wasn't for a lack of proven corners, I still think it would be debatable if he made the team
Jack

How does big Ben look so far?
Gerry Dulac
1:09
As good as he ever has.

Hey Gerry hope you are OK. Seems like pleasant findings with 2 year Ola at OLB and with Barron and Bush at ILB the defense seems complete, but there is a backup safety missing here. Do you think somebody from the team will be or will they acquire him in the last week of Preseason as the previous years ?
Gerry Dulac
1:12
I'm not ready to pronounce Ola as any type of difference maker. Yes, he has looked good at camp, but he has to show he can do it in games...and not just in the preseason against someone's third-team tackle. Adding Barron and Bush was huge for what they needed, for sure
Sal
1:12
Do you feel comfortable also with the TE's room? Do you foresee any additions?
Gerry Dulac
1:14
No, I'm not comfortable after Vance McDonald. And, yes, they need to add a backup TE before the season. Don't forget, in addition to lose all AB's catches, the Steelers also lose Jesse James' 30 catches and 423 yards
Andy
1:14
If Ola can make huge strides in dropping into coverage and #48 continues his 4 yrs of inadequate pass rush skills could he pass the 9 mil dollar mistake??
Gerry Dulac
1:15
I don't want to say "I doubt it," but until I see Ola do it in games, I think I'll go with I doubt it.

Do you think the “Heeeeeeath” chant is retired now?  Heard it early last year for Jesse James
Gerry Dulac
1:15
Unfortunately, it probably is. And that's too bad. I think it was a funny and great tribute to Heath Miller

Why isn’t there a bigger emphasis on bringing as much pressure as possible to the middle of an o-line to disrupt quick release QBs such as Brady, Brees, etc?
Gerry Dulac
1:16
There is. Watch
