OK kids, we're going to start our chat in less than 30 minutes so get those questions ready.

OK kids, let's get started. Go...!!

Your buddy Brian feels the Steelers will not make the playoffs, conceding the division to the browns.  I think the Steelers fixed their problems between FA and the draft by picking up a veteran and a draft pick at CB, ILB and WR.  What do you see that Brian don't?
Gerry Dulac
9:58
I'm not sure what he sees. Maybe he's believing all that Cleveland rhetoric. I'm kind of seeing what you're seeing.

Hi Gerry¡ As always appreciate your chats. Have you heard any problems with Mr.BC o LB with their new teams so far? I just think things will implode at the midway point of the season for them... your thoughts? Thanks and Go Steelers¡¡¡

I try not to pay attention to those guys now that they're gone. It's only a matter of time before 84 goes off. That's a given. I don't expect Bell to be a problem. He really isn't that kind of guy...once he shows up.

Have been reading comments that those who saw OTAs and minicamp that it is noticeable how small Devin Bush is. Concerns me a bit in terms of how he'll hold up. He is in Ryan Shazier weight range, and while Ryan's size had nothing to do with his horrible injury, he did have injury issues prior to that.
Gerry Dulac

I don't have to read comments to know how small Devin Bush is. But we knew that, and so did the Steelers, before they drafted him. He's only 5-11 (if he's lucky) but he's a sturdy 230-235. And he can MOVE!! That's what matters.

What is Mike Hilton's status? Will he report to training camp on time? Do you think he as the Steelers will reach a long term contract?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
No I don't. I do not see the Steelers given a new contract to a player who they knew had problems in coverage last season. And not sure if he plans to report or not.

Hey Gerry! Is there any chance that Devlin Hodges could stick as the QB3? Probably a wild assumption, but I have hopes for that kid.
Gerry Dulac
10:02
None, but I will say this -- when I watched him, I like the way he threw the ball and the touch he had on his passes.

Gerry, if you'd like, you can copy and paste this answer to all the questions today - "I won't know until training camp and the pre season games."
Gerry Dulac
10:03
I'm doing it right now!!
Justin
10:04
Could OLB JT Jones be a practice squad candidate? Or Tuzar Skipper? Who would you choose to keep between the two?
Gerry Dulac

"I won't know until training camp and the pre season games."
See, using it right away!!

Gerry, I think the Steelers are very content to have the drama gone and get back to Steeler football. I hope for a little more balance on offense. And the other is the improvement in takeaways. Love your chats and appreciate you taking my question.
Gerry Dulac
10:05
I would agree. Defense will be better, barring injuries. No way it won't be.

Artie Burns has not been cut yet. Does this mean he will be on the roster heading into training camp?
Gerry Dulac
10:06
Not necessarily. He is due an $800k roster bonus on July 28, right after camp starts. They could decide to release him then. But I'm guessing he will be on the team come training camp

Would you recommend attending the annual “Friday Night Lights” practice? Seems like it’s always one of the most anticipated camp practices of the year.
Gerry Dulac
10:06
I would say you'd enjoy it if you attended. Lot of energy.

Did you see or hear that Max Starks ranked the Steelers RB & OL as the best in the NFL on NFL Network. Do you agree with Starks or do you think he is showing some favoritism towards his old team?
Gerry Dulac
10:07
I did not hear that and I'm not surprised he said that. I agree with the O-line. I wouldn't go that far with the RBs, though I think they have a nice unit. I think there was a little favoritism there.

I really liked Ben's comment last week, "We are still the Pittsburgh Steelers."  I happen to agree and believe they will win the AFC North.  I see a potential for problems in Cleveland, and already an inkling of what may happen given Baker's comments on Duke Johnson last week.  What do you think?
Gerry Dulac
10:08
The Browns have to show me they can win the division, not be picked to win the division.
KJ
10:08
Have you had a chance to see Diontae Johnson practice, run routes, and catch passes?  How does he look?
Gerry Dulac
10:09
Yes and he looks outstanding. But, as Mike Tomlin and an earlier chatter has already noted, "I won't know until training camp and the pre season games."

In your opinion, what is/was wrong with Artie Burns? Is it effort or just lack of talent? How confident are you that he can rebound and become a legit starter for us?
Gerry Dulac
10:10
I'm not really sure and neither are they. The Steelers like to think it's a lack of confidence, and maybe it is. But that is borne from poor awareness that results in blown assignments. I think he has decent talent, but the days of waiting for that are gone

I feel like Eli is a better WR, but get the vibe that Switzer is the odds on favorite, possibly because of ST availability..

Hi what are the possible postions the steelers can still add to?
Gerry Dulac
10:11
Tight end is really about it. Possibly safety. Punter?

Gerry, did you get any ice cream last week when Ryan brought the Bruster's Ice Cream Truck out? If so what flavor?
Gerry Dulac
10:11
I did not, though the nice chap on the truck offered me some.

Gerry,  I'm very concerned about the tight end scenario should McDonald go down.  He has been hurt a lot & Grimble is not the answer.  Your thoughts please.
Gerry Dulac
10:12
I agree. We need to see how the rookie Gentry develops in camp. But I think it's a good possibility the Steelers will add a tight end as camp and the preseason draws to an end

Tomlin seems to get really hyped during the backs on backers drill. How excited do you think hes gonna be when its Bush vs Snell? And are you interested in watching that one?
