OK kids, we're gonna start our chat in just a few moments.

Ok kids, lets get started...go!!

Hello Gerry! Where about's is where the Steelers practice for OTAs & all...near Heinz Field?
Gerry Dulac
9:58
They are at the team's South Side facility, which is about 4-5 miles from Heinz Field.

Would you say this is a big "prove it" year for #91?
Gerry Dulac
9:59
Well, for the money he makes, I would say it is. He needs to do more and he knows it.
BigEd
9:59
Have you got to watch Boz at all? Does he have "it" to be on the 53 man roster?
Gerry Dulac
9:59
Practice for kickers is like golfers on the practice range. It doesn't matter how they perform there. It matters what they do when it counts. That's when I and they will evaluate him.

Gerry,As a longtime fan, I've noticed when the Steelers are labeled as underdogs, they seem to play with that "chip on the shoulder mentality." With the drama gone, I'm optimistic. Your take on that. Thanks for taking my question
Gerry Dulac

I tend to agree with you. But I think a lot of professional athletes/teams respond that way, especially the ones who are or have been successful. I think the 2019 Steelers will have that mentality.

As of today, who is our back up center?
Gerry Dulac
10:01
BJ Finney

I believe that an 18 game regular season is a really bad idea.  What is your opinion and why?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
Agree, and so do the players. 18 games is too much on the body.

Eric Berry is still unsigned. I assume he will be looking for much more money than the Steelers are willing to pay?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
You assume right.

Given the team's depth, do you foresee any trade scenarios where the team moves an OL by the end of camp (health-pending)? Perhaps for a TE or late rounder?
Gerry Dulac
10:04
I can see them going out and getting a veteran TE but I don't know they will move an offensive lineman. Probably a draft pick.

Which position is the weakest for the Steelers in terms of depth?
Gerry Dulac
10:05
Punter. OK, tight end. And I'm still not crazy about the D-line depth, though it's not bad. I don't think it's good enough to use a rotation, which is what Karl Dunbar likes to do.

No question today, but just wanted to say that you're a Pittsburgh legend, Mr. Dulac. I've been a longtime reader and I'm glad to have you cover the Steelers!

Any reps for Sutton, Hilton or another CB at S you've seen?
Gerry Dulac
10:07
No, why should they? Sutton needs reps at slot corner/nickel back cause Mike Hilton had coverage issues last season and they know it.

How have they been deploying Barron in sub-packages? Or has he just been running with the twos at ILB?
Gerry Dulac
10:07
He was brought in to be the perfect hybrid ILB in sub packages. That's what he will do.

Anything worthy of note about the less-talked about draft picks (Buggs, Gilbert, Gray)?
Gerry Dulac
10:08
Not really, other than Buggs has a chance to make this team and he needs to show it at training camp. Gilbert is a practice squad guy unless he shows he's a special teams demon.

Overrated/underrated argument:  the team's camaraderie will improve with the surgical removal of former stars.
Gerry Dulac
10:12
Their camaraderie with each other is fine, was last year, too. But it's seeing what Antonio Brown was allowed to get away with that bothered some of the players.
Tom B
10:12
Gerry, just saw the Raiders were selected for "Hard Knocks".  This has got to ramp up the spotlight and the player's expectations. Would you take the over or under for Week 5 being AB's first sideline spectacle wearing the silver and black?
Gerry Dulac
10:12
Under. Game 3

Who get’s to 1,500 yards from scrimmage this year: Ju Ju and/or Conner and/or Bell and/or Antonio Brown?
Gerry Dulac
10:13
Good question -- I'll take JuJu/Conner for $1,000 Alex
Emilio

It seems that Cortez Allen story is being repeated with Artie Burns, both played at competent levels at  CB and with time have underperformed to their talent level before age can be blamed. Do coaches deserve to be partially blamed for the decline?
Gerry Dulac
10:13
One difference: They never gave Artie Burns a big second contract, like they did with Allen.

Is there a Mike Hilton/mini-camp darling you've identified quite yet?
Gerry Dulac
10:15
Not yet, though I do like Kameron Kelly, the AAF guy. You notice him on the field.
Bill
10:15
I understand what signing and performance bonuses are, but what is a roster bonus?
Gerry Dulac
10:15
Just for still being on the roster. Just a way to break up the contract details
