Hello Gerry! Thanks for all of your chats and great work! Is there any chance of acquiring a Vet DL before training camp?
Gerry Dulac
9:54
Doubtful. They have D-lineman, especially veterans. They need young big-time linemen.  DeMarvin Leal could be an answer, but, as you know, I have said all along they needed a  big-time DL in the first round not what they got.

Gerry, who ends up as the new GM?
Gerry Dulac
9:54
Still don't know, but I have learned over the years a safe bet is always someone who has Western Pa/Steelers ties.

Steelers to open on the road umpteenth time in the row based on Pirates at home. Hope Cleveland with no Watson. Your pick/guess?
Gerry Dulac
9:55
I don't study it that closely, especially when it comes to a Pirates schedule. I'm excited for the baseball season to start, I don't know about you.

Prediction for the Steelers home opener opponent.  I would like to see an AFC North opponent and start the season with a great atmosphere!  Of course that could also mean a loss since all 3 teams are picked ahead of the Steelers.
Gerry Dulac
9:58
I don't have one, but a division opponent is always an exciting way to start

Do you see both Derek Watt and Connor Heyward making the 53-man roster this year?
Gerry Dulac
9:59
No. I think Heyward was drafted so they could release Watt, who is the third-highest paid FB in the league. They are the same type of player -- and a player they don't use other than special teams. You don't need two players you don't use.

Hi Gerry,  I don't understand how the Steelers can continually waste draft picks such as taking Cam's brother and a quarterback who won't make the roster.  There must be some OL or DL prospects still available at those picks who just might make the roster.  Maybe a back up safety or ILB is out there.  With a few exceptions, the Steelers seem to be slipping in the draft area, and are increasingly relying on FAs.  Do you agree?
Gerry Dulac
10:00
I agree whole-heartedly. You have seven picks and two of them are QBs?? But, on reflection, Heyward was picked so they could release Watt and his cap hit. If that doesn't happen, then that pick is another wasted move.

Good Morning Gerry, the draft and free agency signings benefitted Canada and his offense.  Does he have the full arsenal he needs to succeed?  More bullets to shoot, if you will....??
Gerry Dulac
10:01
Well, he should. But, to me, that is the biggest question of the year -- how the offense will perform after the miserable showing they put on last year.

Quarterback aside, strongest position battle heading into training camp this year that most intrigues you?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
Guard. Dotson or Green

After the draft what is your guess on how the steelers will do in their division this year.
Gerry Dulac
10:03
Unchanged. Battle for second or third. Don't know how much the draft will help, though it certainly helped at WR. But free agency moves should be a big help.

Do you think the Steeers will try to trade Rudolph at some point before the season starts?
Gerry Dulac
10:04
If they do, my guess is it would be right before the start of the season when other teams might have an injury and his trade value will be a little greater. Like when they traded Josh Dobbs

Do you think Brian Flores can have a direct impact on Devin Bush performance-wise?  Or is he more of a high-level strategy guy at this point?
Gerry Dulac
10:06
I certainly think he can help, but probably more of the latter. A coach can only say and do so much. It's ultimately how the player will perform on the field.

Good Day Sir!
Thank you for your time
I am really excited to see if Mitch Trubisky can develop into the star that was expected of the former #2 overall pick and maybe the 7th rounder, Oladokun, can develop into our very own TB12, without the insufferability quotient….
I guess we can be glad the team found its new backup QB, though the 1st round may have been a bit high…
The MR project can be relegated to the dustbin of history…, right?
Gerry Dulac
10:08
I wouldn't get too excited about Chris Oladokun -- that's a big ask. And I wouldn't just project Kenny Pickett as the new backup QB. Teams don't draft QBs on the first round to sit and watch, unless Aaron Rodgers is your starter. But I agree with you about Trubisky. I thought it was a great move to sign him and see if he can be the QB everyone thought he might be.

Hey Gerry, I love you, Where do you see rudolph going . via trade or release
Gerry Dulac
10:08
I don't see him being released.

Are there any FA true nose tackles types that they could still add for depth?  This still seems like a big hole in a major area of weakness, where at least a depth signing could pay dividends (looking at what happened with injuries/Tuitt last year).
Gerry Dulac
10:09
Hence, why I thought they should have done things differently with their No. 1 pick

Gerry who will you be watching at rookie camp Pickett the other qb Austin Pickens anyone else and does tuitt come back i missed watching tuitt on the field last year
Gerry Dulac
10:10
Still don't know about Tuitt, and not sure they do either. Pickett, Pickens, Austin .....three most intriguing rookies.

Why did the Steelers draft so poorly?
Gerry Dulac
10:11
Alex, you'd have to ask them, but they would unequivocally disagree with you. However, I might not.

Hi Gerry, Once we get our next GM on board, do you believe that in future player personnel decisions that Art Rooney III will solicit equal if not more input from Mike Tomlin then the new GM until that individual earns his credibility as a Steeler wi
Gerry Dulac
10:12
I don't think AR2 will solicit input ...I think he will accept the input provided him from the GM, whom you would assume had been discussing it with the coach. That's what Colbert/Tomlin did. That's what Colbert/Cowher did.

Gerry who is the next GM not named Whaley?

We'll find out in about a month

Good morning Gerry.  Do the Steelers have a realistic chance at hosting an NFL draft, anytime in the near future?
Gerry Dulac
10:14
If Cleveland can host one, no reason Pittsburgh cannot.
