OK kids, we'll be starting our chat in about 10 minutes so get ready....

OK, let's get started...here we go!

Why did the Steelers seem to change direction with Tyler Boyd?
Gerry Dulac
9:49
Who said they were headed in the direction you reference?

Do you think the Steelers will make a significant push to trade for SF's Aiyuk?
Gerry Dulac
9:50
They should, though it might cost too much money

Did the Steelers really tell KP that Russell would be QB1? If so, how and when did the Steelers abandon their belief in Kenny Pickett and somehow think that aging short guy Russell Wilson would be a long term QB1?
Gerry Dulac
10:00
No they did not. And I think it all started when they saw how well Matt Canada's offense performed under Mason Rudolph as opposed to how it worked with Pickett

How bad did the Denver Broncos think that Russell Wilson was for them, such that they decided to take $ 80 million in cap hits for the next two years?
Gerry Dulac
10:01
They had no other choice because they were stupid enough to sign him to such a deal in the first place.

Fields has had a huge issue with turnovers in the first 3 years of his career. Do you recall any QBs that have been able to greatly improve in that area after 3+ season?
Gerry Dulac
10:01
David Carr comes to mind

Hi Gerry, does it make sense to give up a 1st or 2nd round pick plus another player for a star WR from SF when the pick could be used in the draft for a top WR prospect with small salary and cap hit?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
No it doesn't

Any chance Aaron Donald skips traing camp and then comes to play for the steelers after the bye week ?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
Yeah. Right when Ben comes back

I want to amaze my friends with my accurate Steeler predictions. Who are they going to sign soon in the free agent market at positions of greatest need right now - wide receiver, offensive line, defensive line, and secondary? No use trying to figure out a mock draft until after that, right?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
Good luck with that.

You looked good on the DP Show last Friday!  Is it fair to say that K.Pickett has similarities to early Baker Mayfield with regards to properly being able to handle himself without rubbing people the wrong way?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
Thanx man. I don't think Baker Mayfield quit on his team tho

Both Wilson and Fields take a lot of sacks and fumble a lot. It seems like they hold the ball a long time and don’t go through their progressions well. This is fundamental football. Do you think that would change here? We haven’t been strong at teaching fundamentals recently.
Gerry Dulac
10:04
Good point. It might have to. Have them get rid of the ball in under 3 seconds. Holding it longer is when Wilson appears to get in trouble with mistakes

Most glaring hole at the moment appears to be starting center. Any insight into their plans???
Gerry Dulac
10:04
Yeah, early in the draft. Very early.

10:04
Hi Gerry do you see the steelers going center late since they need a receiver help
Gerry Dulac
10:04
No. Quite the opposite

My understanding is that the Steelers have $15 million to spend under the cap. Shouldn’t they be doing some restructuring right now (especially on Cam) to free up some money?
Gerry Dulac
10:05
Who says they aren't? They don't announce restructurings

What’s up Gerry with a G? I’m sure everyone is asking but any chance the Steelers go and get Aiyuk? And would they have to give up a first to do so?
Gerry Dulac
10:06
Oh there's a chance. But it's a lot to give up, especially when you have George Pickens
Tommy Boy
10:06
So it seems the steelers are headed to the draft now.   Boyd might be the last guy out there, but not sure steelers are sold on him.   So, C, OT, WR, in any order for the draft picks?  Then CB and iLB depth?
Gerry Dulac
10:07
Good order Tommy Boy, though I might put WR before OT

Good Morning Gerry, The Steelers are jettisoning malcontents; Chuks, Dionte, and Kenny in particular. Could George Pickens be next? New OC Arthur Smith's scheme requires WR to block.
Gerry Dulac
10:07
He is not next, though I would advise him to grow up a little
Brian
10:07
Odds a move is made for Aiyuk?  How much do you think the Steelers would have to give up to get him?
Gerry Dulac
10:08
Too much, which is why I'm not sure it's going to happen.

Does the level of adaptability that Mike Tomlin has shown - with all this substantial reorg of a winning roster with a still developing QB - surprise you?
Gerry Dulac
10:08
Absolutely not. Plus, if they want to start winning a playoff game, he has no other choice.

Good morning, Gerry!  You, Ray, and Brian have been very busy lately.  Question:  with all of the Centers obtained during FA, shouldn't one of the Big Three Centers be available to the Steelers at #20?  Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
10:09
Really, all should be available to them at 20. Tyler Linderbaum, who was rated higher than all of them a couple years ago, lasted until 25.
