Hey folks, we'll begin soon.

I need to replace a bat for the final playoff week. Dansby Swanson and tommy Pham are both available. Which would you go with?
Brad Johnson
1:04
It depends a little on the particular categories you want. Pham's a little better for SBs. I like Swanson more for run production. They're fairly similar for power/AVG over a two-week sample. I'm not familiar with their schedules offhand, but those are relevant to your decision too.
Wyatt Langford
1:04
Hi there. Check out this tweet from Dallas Morning News Rangers beat writer Evan Grant. Any change of your thoughts on whether Wyatt Langford could get a cup of coffee in The Show?    https://x.com/evan_p_grant/status/1703515214287651163?s=46&t=nxwtExApn...

Let me put it this way. I'm on the outside of this. From my perspective, the obvious expectation is that we don't see him in the Majors this year. That's how most clubs would approach it. The Rangers are thirsty though... they might just do it.

Any chance Wyatt Langford gets a call up this season? If so is he worth the add?
Brad Johnson
1:06
So yes, I won't say it's a flat no. I still think it's well below 50/50

Deciding on keepers next year, have 6 years (max 2 per player) to allot across casas, Jordan walker, jung, Andrew Abbott, Bobby Miller, and Matt McClain…I’m leaning 2 casas, 2 jung, 1 Miller, 1 Abbott…what say you?
Brad Johnson
1:07
Ooh, that's tricky. I'd ditch the pitchers entirely without a second thought.
1:08
As to what I do with the hitters, I'd hold off on a firm decision until closer to your keeper deadline.
the offseason offers a sort of clarity we just can't find while we're in the trenches.
1:09
You might want to choose a guy in which to invest heavily. Like a 4 in Casas then 1 in Walker and McLain. Can you trade these guys? I'd also do some shopping before setting my final plan if that's an option.

Still think we might see Caminero this season?
Brad Johnson
1:09
Less likely than Langford.
1:10
I was told by a contact he didn't think the club was comfortable with Caminero playing shortstop in a playoff situation. But they're using Basabe and Gray now which is sub-ideal...

Need help picking 2 of the following: Pham (5 games), Santana (7), Suwinski (only 3 righties), Flores (6), JP Crawford (6), Drury (6), or McMahon (6 on the road)
Brad Johnson
1:11
It's all about your category needs. I'd probably lean Crawford and Pham without more info.
Sweating the small stuff
1:12
Whats your stance on streaming during h2h playoffs? Have picked up quantrill @kc) and Assad (pit, col) and am already worried they’ll torch everything.
Brad Johnson
1:12
Stream to your needs. If you're doing it out of habit, it's wrong.
1:13
You use guys like Quantrill and Assad because you've identified that you want Ws and Ks and either don't need ERA/WHIP or else you have to take a risk with those categories.
Luigi
1:13
No way Jackson Holliday will debut this year now, right?
Brad Johnson
1:14
Not an all-the-way no yet. I think they're comfortable with what they have in place already.
1:15
I don't really understand why they're satisfied using Adam Frazier so much... I would have cut him months ago.
I love the increases in SB
1:15
More exciting game when players can run at will. Do you think they’ll increase base sizes 3 more inches?
Brad Johnson
1:16
I don't, but I do think they will continue to encourage rule changes that favor batting average and SBs over dingers, OBP, and high K rates.
CES???!
1:16
He's hitting well...but not playing every day? Would you play him in a deep weekly moves league with mediocre alternatives? (Raley, Brown, etc.)
Brad Johnson
1:16
Yea, I would.
Worried about LouRob
1:17
Would you start a 2 start Javier Assad (home vs Pit & Col), Cold Ragans (at Hou), or Jordan Wicks (home vs Col) this week if biggest need is k’s and w’s?
Brad Johnson
1:17
I'd go for Assad. They're all like 33% to win per start and Assad gets the two chances against weak opponents.
1:18
Ragans could match his K total in one outing, but the 'Stros could pummel him. They're not intimidated by hard-throwing southpaws. Some lineups just can't handle left heat.

Im commissioner of my league.  What do you think are some of the better ways to determine next years draft order? Thanks!
Brad Johnson
1:19
I'm a fan of putting all the teams that didn't make money in the last two seasons into an evenly-weighted lottery.
1:21
If we're talking redraft, then the owners themselves can "draft" their draft position based on that lottery. Or you can just use a basic KDS. In a dynasty format, just let the lottery determine the draft order with those who made the most money drafting last.
Expansion
1:21
How will mlb expansion effect fantasy baseball or will it be largely unchanged?
Brad Johnson
1:21
It'll be marginally easier to stream. "replacement level" for your league will rise. But, the effects will be relatively small.

I have the option of activating Jung off the IL. Would you play him over any of the following guys: Josh Naylor, Alec Bohm, Royce Lewis
Brad Johnson
1:23
I think you could flip a coin between him and Bohm. Over a larger sample, definitely prefer Jung to Bohm. But we should expect rust this week.

Looking for cheap starters who might be worth keeping in NL only roto keeper. Loaded up with Emmet Sheehan, Gavin Stone, Connor Phillips, Ryne Nelson, Joan Adon, Tylor Megill Luis Ortiz, Andre Jackson, Joan Adon. Any sure keepers there? Who would be your first drops?
Brad Johnson
1:25
None of those are particularly attractive at the moment. Sheehan's the closest to a keeper. Stone could find a way forward, though I think that will be out of the bullpen.

Do you see Jordan Walker as a star in the future?  Thank You!
