We'll get started in a few moments. Lots to discuss, as always.

What pitchers will be called up soon? Will Gavin Williams be one of them?
Brad Johnson
1:05
I'll get this out of the way early - I've been traveling so I don't have my thumb on what teams are planning to do with their minor leaguers at the moment. I will say that Williams is, to me, the most enticing pitcher in the minors for fantasy purposes. I hope he's activated soon for my own benefit, but I don't have any reason to believe it's actually imminent.
Their rotation is performing well relative to the league norm. Civale and McKenzie are nearing returns.

Should I move on from Reid Detmers for one of the top prospect call ups like Stone and Miller?
Brad Johnson
1:07
I'd stick to Detmers actually. Even if the ERA/WHIP isn't really helping, his strikeout rate is quite attractive. Those other guys are high volatility - they could be studs, but the likelier outcome is a limited workload.

what's your belief in whitlock as a starter?  should us managers in 12 teamers be patient if we have him, or look to add if we don't?
Brad Johnson
1:08
I think he's pretty ordinary as a starter, which, in 2023, isn't something to entirely dismiss. He'll have his good and bad days.

Is there any healthy/disappointing 1st rounder you're ok with letting go for a modest return (i.e. Soto, Trea, J-Rod, etc.) aka - give up on?
Brad Johnson
1:08
No, I'm holding or asking for a high-caliber 1-for-1.
1:09
Selling low on first-rounders typically isn't a good idea. Unless it's a challenge trade for another buy-low.

Whats wrong with julio Rodriguez & Michael harris?
Brad Johnson
1:10
I don't have a read on anything being wrong with Rodriguez besides a low BABIP. Buybuybuy imo.
1:11
Harris massively outperformed his peripherals last year, so regression isn't surprising. Now he's massively underperforming his peripherals so I'm buying him too - just not as eagerly as JRod.

Is Lance Lynn still good?
Brad Johnson
1:12
I'm honestly unsure. I will say he still has the capacity to be good. If you can acquire him cheaply and stash on the bench, I'd do it.
1:13
He might already be turning the corner. He's a bit of a throwback body type and aging so it wouldn't surprise me if he was a little out of condition in April.

1:13
How long do you think before we see Elly De La Cruz in cinci?
Brad Johnson
1:14
Tough call here, I kind of suspect they want him to get them a draft pick next year.
That would also let them assess other players like McLain before the shortstop logjam... jams.
Trea Turner Owner
1:15
What the heck is wrong! Can he get it together this year?
Brad Johnson
1:15
Yea, I think he just needs to adjust to a new home. From what I hear, he's been suffering from some bad early count calls which is reinforcing this tendency to expand the strike zone. If I know about this, it's only a matter of time before he makes an adjustment.

Is 2b/of Morel the real deal or a flash in the pan?
Brad Johnson
1:16
He's very Chris Taylor-like imo. Likely to have periods when he's a Top 100 player and other times when he's drowning.
Top keepers
1:17
For long term keeper purposes, top young bats in my mind are Holliday and Caminero below AA. Any others ?
Brad Johnson
1:17
I don't have Caminero that high. He's one of those guys whose fantasy hype greatly exceeds what I hear from actual scouts.
1:18
As I noted at the outset, I'm a little behind on prospects at the moment. Ask again in a couple weeks.
Bobby miller
1:18
What do you expect from me and do I stick in rotation
Brad Johnson
1:19
I don't really expect much of a fantasy impact. I don't think they're going to move him to the bullpen anytime soon though. Starts might be more in the 4-5 IP range though which cuts down on win odds. He wasn't generating many whiffs in Triple-A which doesn't bode well. At the same time, we've seen several prospects struggle in Triple-A then shove in their MLB debuts this year.
1:21
Miller's kind of a hard case. My scout contacts love him, but I have doubts about immediate impact. I'm letting others roll the dice on him in redraft.
Royce Lewis
1:21
What kind of impact do you think I'll have when I return from the IL?
Brad Johnson
1:22
Lewis is one of the more interesting guys on the way, though I worry he won't run as much as we'd like. Making high quality contact on rehab but with an unusually high whiff rate.
I also heard he might not be activated immediately because the Twins like the production they're getting from Farmer.
Mike
1:23
Is Josh Lowe for real?
Brad Johnson
1:24
Yeah, he's a good player. Is he a 185 wRC+ guy? No, not really. But I do see him as a legit 25/25 threat who will probably be a streaky type.

What do you think a realistic projection for Morel is?
Brad Johnson
1:25
The public projections are realistic - roughly .240/.300/.450. High ISO, low AVG/OBP.
Dolph Lungren
1:25
Jesse Scholtens worth an add to replace Clevinger?
Brad Johnson
1:26
Only in very deep leagues imo. Or in desperate situations - which I realize are pretty common right now.
Lawlar
1:26
Lawlar seems to really be struggling, is a 2023 debut less likely?
