Welcome! We will get started shortly.

What young player is best for dynasty league keeper Corbin carrol or O’Neil cruz ?
Brad Johnson
1:05
Carroll's the better bet, though it shouldn't shock anybody if Cruz turns out to have the better career. Carroll's more well-rounded and just as actualized if not more. Cruz has a Judgian ceiling, but the 50th percentile promises a mix of incredible and frustrating.
Spring battles
1:05
Which ones are you watching most closely?
Brad Johnson
1:06
I haven't quite honed in on any I'm closely tracking yet. A lot of the early ones (like Painter/Falter) have sorta resolved on their own.
This is one though:
Colas
1:06
Will oscar colas make the white sox opening day rostor and if so does he have the same upside as jordan walker?
Brad Johnson
1:07
I think there's a good chance Colas makes the team in part because the alternatives are bleak. Gavin Sheets is an imposter in the outfield and Leury Garcia is... bland.
1:08
So why not try to catch lightning with Colas then retrench with Sheets et al if it fails.
Colas is not at all comparable with Walker

A’s fan here, is there anyone on the A’s team you see as an underrated bargain pickup?
Brad Johnson
1:09
Yes! I actually like a lot of the A's players.
Laureano could be huge if healthy. He's a 25/25 upside threat after pick 200.
Waldichuk has good stuff grades
1:10
Conner Capel is a favored sleeper of mine in deeper formats. I have him in (checks notes) every league.
Langeliers is a fine choice for catcher power
Ruiz's stolen base ceiling is impressive... though the bust risk is high.
1:11
Brown is a solid player. Jace Peterson is a nice OBP filler.
Trevor May isn't a bad late closer stab

Salary cap auction league. I can pick 3 of these players, who do I choose? Cease $24, Verlander $11, Valdez $9, Pasquantino $6, Riley $17
Brad Johnson
1:12
I'd go Framber, Vinnie, and Riley, assuming this is a multi-year situation. Cease has volatile traits and Verlander is nearing the end (though he's obviously a huge bargain too)

Jesus Sanchez or Bryan De La Cruz  (or both?)?
Brad Johnson
1:13
I'm not keen about either for fantasy purposes
Has to be a deep format.
I think De La Cruz has a better chance to figure something out and improve
1:14
They both have to improve to be startable in 15-team and shallower.
De La Cruz has nice barrel and hard hit traits, he just doesn't hit them to the right places yet.

Will you see me in the Bronx this year?
Brad Johnson
1:15
I doubt it, but we're starting to get close. I could see if happening in a Hail Mary situation
2b or not 2b?
1:15
Jorge Polanco / Brandon Lowe.........who to keep? who will have a better year?
Brad Johnson
1:16
I think of Lowe as a volatile, high ceiling play while Polanco tends to be steadier but has a harder time reaching a big upside.
Their injury histories are roughly comparable. We know Polanco is *bad* when he's playing through minor injury.

In a dynasty league, NL Only, have the second and 4th picks of the prospect round. Who is the better pick: Druw Jones or Jackson Chourio? Where would you select Andrew Painter with his injury in 5 round prospect w/ 10 teams? Late Round 1?
Brad Johnson
1:19
Chourio is the consensus choice over Jones who also might have a much longer runway (we'll learn more this season). I'd pick Painter like Top 5 in a 10-team scenario. The reason being that I'm looking for instant gratification with all my picks in shallower formats. Painter, if healthy, will be up in May. If not healthy, you cast him aside for someone who is. There's never going to be a shortage of high-caliber prospects in a 10-teamer.

Are you a Joey Meneses believer? I am not, feels a lot like Frank Schwindel in 2021. Avoiding.
Brad Johnson
1:20
I mean, I think he can hack it in the Majors. Especially for a team as bad as the Nats. That said, we just saw him hit a 125th percentile outcome, i.e. like 4 standard deviations beyond his talent. Expecting closer to a league average bat this year.

What do you think of Keibert Ruiz in a 12 team dynasty?
Brad Johnson
1:20
Kinda fringy but fine
1:21
He's more of an irl guy than dynasty asset in my book
1:22
He could break out if he learns to make more consistent barreled contact. Not an easy ask, but it happens.
