Good afternoon, let's begin
Steeltowntim@aol.com

Ed, Would you trade Brown for San Fran's fourth and our first? Would moving up that high negate our first rounder? Or maybe our second rounder?
Ed Bouchette
1:58
Yes, I would but the 49ers would not make that deal. I'm not sure what you mean by "negate." If you make that trade, you have the 4th overall pick but not the 20th, that's all. Still, a fantasy

Do we know if Brown agreed not to further sabotage his trade value to the Steelers?
Ed Bouchette
1:58
Not sure he can damage it much more than he already has

Speaking of the Scouting Department, any particular Scout on the "outs" (on performance or lack of talent discovery) with management, do you suspect?
Ed Bouchette
1:59
Not that I'm aware of. The Steelers don't change scouts very often, usually only when one leaves on his own for another job or a promotion.

Ed, Can't trade Brown for Peanuts, at least a high second like SF 36th, if not sit him or suspend if need be if bad behavior occurs.. Why give him what he wants? We need good return  this is business period. What say U? thanks
Ed Bouchette
2:01
He won't be back. It's just a matter of what the Steelers can now get for him. Sit him? Pay him $15 million this year to sit? And suspending him is not that easy.

Ed,  talk me off this ledge please.  Why would Art have a picture taken with this bozo?  What is the franchise coming to?
Ed Bouchette
2:01
Proof they met?

2:02
Ed, does the cap money gained from Shazier and Bell negated by AB's signing bonus?
Ed Bouchette
2:02
There is no cap money "gained" from Ryan Shazier. His contract ran out, although it can be "tolled" at much less for 2019
Eric
2:03
Why can't team restructure AB's contract now so its not a 21mil hit to move him. Why not put the ball in his court and prove how bad he wants out....and thats in his pocketbook. Put up or shut up.
Ed Bouchette
2:03
Sure, he'd agree to that.

Fitipaldo rendered his first Mock Draft of the year - When's yours - after the Combine, perhaps?
Ed Bouchette
2:03
I do one, the week of the real draft.

At what point do we need to address the scouts in regards to all the misses at DB and LB’s?  Also, in regards to that, would we be better off getting a Corner through Free agency?  Thanks!
Ed Bouchette
2:05
I don't know that you can find a good corner in free agency. Better to fill in with a wide receiver in free agency and draft them. If you want to address the Steelers scouts, send it to them at 3400 Water Street, Pittsbugh, Pa. 15203

Will Steelers kick themselves if they dont tag L.Bell and he signs for a lesser deal. Say 10mil per.....it might be what the market is willing to pay.
Ed Bouchette
2:06
The Steelers are as done with Le'Veon Bell as they are with Antonio Brown, although they still might tag him to try to get something for him, which I think is foolish

Hello Ed, based on the news about Brown and Mr. Rooney, are the Steelers finally headed on the right path?
Ed Bouchette
2:06
It's a start

Ed, do any of your articles also get published or picked up by the Toledo Blade, as well?
Ed Bouchette
2:06
Once in awhile, I believe

Do you think the Steelers would use the transition tag just to keep Bell from signing with the Ravens who are in need of a RB?
Ed Bouchette
2:07
I suppose, but what I don't get is what if he then signs with them? Do they match it and try to trade him elsewhere?
JBOD
2:07
Since it’s a certainty AB will be traded, do Steelers replace him this year in free agency and also draft another WR this year?
Ed Bouchette
2:08
That is what I would do. Fill in with a veteran UFA to go with JuJu, Washington, Ryan Switzer and maybe Eli Rogers. You can draft one too but no need to go high
Bud

Hi Ed. Is the idea of putting a transition tag on Bell, the hope to trade him for more than they would receive as a comp. pick? And if they do that, would you expect them to be really taking a gamble doing that?
Ed Bouchette
2:09
Yes, I think it is a gamble. I wrote an entire story about it recently that is still on our website.

Your reaction to AB’s comments about Ben having an “owner mentality.” Is this the opinion of one disgruntled diva or is the star QB disliked by a chunk of his own locker room? He hasn’t exactly won a lot of team MVP awards despite being their best player for more than a dozen years.
Ed Bouchette
2:10
Mr. Big Chest has made so many ridiculous statements lately and others that are not decipherable that there's no sense in ME trying to explain it.
Calexico
2:10
Ed. At least to the public eye, AB went from normal to lunatic in a second. I seriously think CTE may have something to do with it. Is that nonsense?
Ed Bouchette
2:10
Thank you, Dr. Calexico

With Antonio Brown all but gone, do the Steelers have the luxury of rostering DHB another year?  Wouldn't that roster slot be better served with someone who can play more than special teams?
Ed Bouchette
2:11
Yes, provided they can find one

Ed, Love the chats. As we sit here today, your best guess as to what the Steelers get for AB in a trade
Ed Bouchette
2:12
I don't think they can get a first rounder. I do think maybe a second or third. If Martavis Bryant could fetch a third with all his baggage, Brown should at least be worth that to someone
Daniel

What message would it send to the rest of the league if the Steelers won the SB next year without Bell & Brown?
