Hello, folks. Let's dodge some trolleys, shall we?
dodgerskingsfan1
4:15
Should the dodgers go after some lesser known Free Agent pitchers such as Jack Flaherty or even Hyun Jin Ryu or Kenta Maeda along with Jordan Montgomery?
Darragh McDonald
4:16
I covered this a bit in the outlook but I think they will probably be open to everything.
They could spend about $100MM before even getting close to the luxury tax.
4:17
Ohtani could eat close to half of that, but they should be able to consider everything from the top guys to the ones you mentioned.
LA homer
4:17
Has to be a disappointing offseason if we don't land Ohtani plus 2 of Nola, Yamamoto, Montgomery, and/or a trade candidate like Burnes right?
Darragh McDonald
4:17
Well, no. Haha.
They could get one of that group and it could still be a very good offseason.

For all the organization has done right, it seems the reluctance to move on from certain veterans has perhaps been a hindrance, especially in terms of postseason failures. For as much as Kershaw is beloved, I believe it is time to move on. The Patriots (NFL) and Cardinals (MLB) have been two notable examples of quality organizations not afraid to part ways with big names players. Is there any sense within the organization that we cling to our own too steadfastly?
Darragh McDonald
4:18
I think you could also argue it the other way around. The Dodgers generally avoided long-term deals and have let a number of guys walk.
4:19
That's part of the reason why their payroll is so clean right now, relative to some other big spenders.
Sox Fan

If the Sox decided to rebuild and made Luis Robert available, wouldn't a team like the Dodgers line up to aquire him since they have a deep farm system
Darragh McDonald
4:19
Sure, Robert would get interest from the Dodgers and plenty of other clubs.

4:19
Is my former teammate Joe Kelly going to get his option picked up?
Darragh McDonald
4:20
I don't think the price is terrible for him, but I suspect they will turn it down. They would probably like to have that money free as they pursue big names. Could always circle back to him in January and work something out.

How big of a role does Lux play next season?
Darragh McDonald
4:21
Really hard to say. We got very little news on him throughout the year.
Blue October
4:21
With no one on the starting staff pitching upwards of 130 innings this season, how high of a priority is it to get guys that can eat innings? Or do we let the rookies of their leashes with increased innings limits?
Darragh McDonald
4:22
I think they'll have to bring in three guys, which gives them a chance to mix reliable decent guys with higher upside plays, however they want to play it.

Of all the players with team options, who do you think the Dodgers would keep?
Darragh McDonald
4:22
Muncy.
4:23
I think that's it, though they could always work out new deals with the pitchers. That's something they've done a lot.
Real Craig Mish the Dish
4:23
Odds that we can return Jack Flaherty to ace-status?
Darragh McDonald
4:23
I don't know. Dodgers have a good reputation but they're not magicians. Look at Syndergaard.
Trade partners
4:23
How about Dodgers and Reds?  Reds have surplus of middle infielder prospects and youngsters.  Dodgers have a surplus of catching and pitching prospects.  Make it so.
Darragh McDonald
4:23
Sure, I can see it.
MIke
4:24
Do you think the Dodgers will bring Jason Heyward back next season?
Darragh McDonald
4:24
It's possible but he may have played himself into a bigger role elsewhere. I'm assuming the Dodgers will do something with the middle infield and move Mookie back to right.
Dodger Blue
4:24
Since this team won 100 games, do you suspect the front office only makes minor tweaks this offseason?
Darragh McDonald
4:25
Now I think they will go crazy. Like I said, they can spend $100MM without even going over the luxury tax. No reason for them not to make significant moves.

Odds JD Martinez waits around while the Dodgers figure out Ohtani?
Darragh McDonald
4:26
Yeah, I think any DH-type player will have to be patient this winter. So many teams will probably tell them "depends if we get Ohtani or not."
JDM, Soler, Belt, Justin Turner, Joc Pederson. Any bat-first guy like that probably waits on Ohtani unless some club tries to be sneaky and get one of them while everyone else is watching the Ohtani stuff play out.

Doesn’t the decision on Treinen’s option depend on how much it is for?  I have seen an estimate that it is between $1M and $7M.  Doesn’t it make sense to pick up toward the lower end of that spectrum?
Darragh McDonald
4:27
It's possible if they think he's healthy, sure.
Ohtani
4:27
Do the Dodgers really want me on 8 to 10 year deal?
Darragh McDonald
4:27
It will be longer than that.
Judge got nine years. Ohtani is two years younger now than Judge was.
And yes.

What’s the situation with Urias quality offer the dodgers lose the right to give him
