We'll get started momentarily.
3:51
I just need to finish chomping on this kale first

Salutations!   Josh Van Meter.   how many at bats you reckon the kid can get in a utility role for Reds?   He smells like a 20/20 to me if he can find 500 at bats.   Agree?
Brad Johnson
3:53
I think the speed probably plays below that, but I do have him as a big fantasy sleeper who's hopelessly blocked.
I just got done writing about how Phil Ervin and Scott Schebler (both out of options) could force Van Meter to Triple-A.
I'll say something opens up 250 PA (ie injuries)
3:54
500 PA is very unlikely but a great sign of fantasy output if it happens.

5x5 Roto. Yu Darvish or Justin Verlander as a keeper?
Brad Johnson
3:54
go with the healthy guy imo.
Little Tiger
3:54
With Conforto who will probably start on the IL, the best options in my league are : Kevin Pillar, Teoscar Hernandez and Ender Inciarte. I almost prefer taking a chance with Jake Fraley of the Mariners. Who would you choose?
Brad Johnson
3:54
I'd take Hernandez in the hopes he starts hot
3:55
He's a hot and cold hitter

How much playing time do you think Arozarena gets in TB?  How about Monte Harrison in MIA?  Both could be nice speed assets late if given PT.
Brad Johnson
3:55
Neither look to be in line for a lot of time. Arozarena may depend a bit on Kiermaier's annual injury.
3:56
Right now he's a defensive tandem to Renfroe/Martinez types
Harrison has quite a few guys to swim by to get any sort of playing time in Miami. Maybe if they trade some guys like Villar and Dickerson at the deadline
3:57
Feels like a midseason pickup if your league isn't very deep.

Super deep points league: Jackie Bradley, Lewis Brinson, or Kyle Lewis? I'm generally assuming that playing time is king down in these areas, so I'm leaning JBJ, but they're all strikeout risks.
Brad Johnson
3:57
I'm with you on going JBJ
It's not exciting though. You might be able to catch a hot week of Lewis and turn him into something better. Like JBJ and a good reliever.

Who after Woodruff will be the most valuable fantasy starter for the Brewers this year?
Brad Johnson
3:58
I'll WAG Lindblom only because I know the others just aren't very interesting for fantasy purposes.
There's at least some uncertainty with Lindblom.

Which injured ace would you pay more for in a 5x5 auction right now: Scherzer (side discomfort) or Verlander (lat strain)?
Brad Johnson
4:00
Scherzer since we don't even know he'll miss considerable time.

How would you handle a 12-team mixed league auction draft where historically everyone goes stars and scrubs and therefore has pretty extreme inflation? Mike Trout goes for over $60 every year. Top pitchers go for over $50. Basically every player in the top 3 rounds goes for about $20 more than straight auction values say they should, and there are massive numbers of $1 players at the end of the draft. Would you strictly follow auction values and clean up on mid-round players? Would you go along with the crazy inflation and rely on making up for overpaying with $1 players? Or somewhere in between?
Brad Johnson
4:00
In 12-team mixed, the rep level is very high. So you HAVE to get stars.
4:02
As much as I like to preach "zig when they zag," I've never seen anybody (including me) succeed by trying to get a lot of mid-tier guys.
What happens is people keep bidding aggressively until there really aren't that many great values. So you'll get some $10 guys for $5. Whoop-dee-doo
Dan
4:03
How was the kale?
Brad Johnson
4:03
green

Is Randy Arozarena worth grabbing or is he just a guy having a great spring?
Brad Johnson
4:04
I don't mind stashing him just to see. The Rays are just so crowded, and I have trouble seeing them pushing Kiermaier into a lighter role.
AL arms
4:04
Cole is being kept, Sale and JV (and Clevenger) are hurt: who do I buy as an ace in AL Only?
Brad Johnson
4:05
Morton, Lynn, Berrios, Boyd, Giolito all come to mind

4:06
Which MLB team has the fewest rosterable players?
Brad Johnson
4:06
Off the top of my head, probably the Tigers.
4:07
Even the Royals and Orioles have rosterable players at almost every position. The Tigers have... Cron and Goodrum.
Maybe you get some life from Miggy, Maybin, or Schoop.
