Good noon (on the East Coast) everybody! The queue says you've all brought it again; feel free to continue to add to it during the hour. Will do my best to spread it around, keep answers succinct, and get to as may as possible. Join me!

In 12-tm H2H category, are any of Grant Holmes, Wesneski, Bubic or Liberatore droppable to grab Tony Gonsolin, who hasn’t pitched in MLB since ‘23 (when wasn’t good) and was just ok in his rehab, this year! He does, however, get Marlins for his return! Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:03
Think I'd wait in a 12 to see how that first start goes. Out of the quartet, Holmes is the most cuttable to me, but as you say it's been a time since TG was on an MLB mound. I'd wait.

Does Noelvi Marte have a chance to be a top 100 draft pick next year?
Brent Hershey
12:06
Eh, might be aiming too high ... in all NFBC drafts, this is in the Christian Walker, Vientos (with a ton of hype), Burger range from this year. I really like Marte and his situation this year; not sure he's 2026 top 100 material just yet.

Thank you Brett, 4x4 AL only keeper league.1, SWR for Twins seems to have figured something out or is it just hope on my part? 2.the hype over M Montgomery for Rays seems to have died down from beginning of year. Im still  a believer are you?
Brent Hershey
12:11
  1. Does kinda seem that way -- BBs down; Ks up. Still need to see more, but worth watching
  2. Skills-wise, yes ... but role is so important with TAM so question is how will they continue to use him. In a deep lg like yours, probably a hold.

Hi Brent-- could you rank these prospects ROS and long term?  Quinn Matthews, Jacob Misiorowski, Sal Stewart, Dalton Rushing.  And where would you put Luis Pena on longer term list?  Any comments on any of them?
Brent Hershey
12:14
ROS: Misiorowski / Rushing / Mathews / Stewart
Long term: Mathews / Rushing / Mis / Stewart

The unknown (severity; recovery time) of Mathews injury makes this one a tough rank. Somewhere, I think Rushing finds a place soon.

Brent! I have two just words for you:

Chandler. Simpson.

(Okay, now a few more words ...)

He's everything we hoped and dreamed of, isn't he?
Brent Hershey
12:16
Three words:

One. Week. In. :-)

But yes, was great week for sure. Worth tracking how MLB pitchers will attack as they see him a bit more. Very different profile, which may be to his advantage. But yes, didn't mean to rain on your parade ... was a fun 7+ days; great to see him leadoff some; could be a force.

Yanier Diaz was ranked as the #3 catcher in BBHQ projections.  His stats have been a drain.  Have pitchers awakened to his chase tendencies and the result is what we see?  Should I drop him and pick up highly touted Miami's Agustin Remariz in his place?  10 team Roto league.
Brent Hershey
12:19
In a 10-teamer, yeah maybe. No doubt Diaz has been a disappointment. In 12s and deeper, I still think you hold at this point and give him some more rope. He's actually chasing a bit less this year, BUT his zone rate is down, reflecting what you mention. Time for him to adjust.

Hi Brent, thanks for answering this question. 16 team H2H Points league

I have 2 roster issues:

1. My SP Options- we can start only 5 SPs per week. I have 3 two-start SPs (Bibee, Ga. Williams, Cabrera). All are judgement calls. Which, if any, should I start? I have viable replacements for all 3. In declining order: Boyd, Buehler, May. I will/can also start Valdez, Woo and Buehler to complete the rotation. Which 5?

2. UT Spot - my hitting is pretty well set except for the UT spot. Diaz & Conforto were my pre-season choices but they haven't hit.
Options: Yainer Diaz (ugh), Winker, IKF, Conforto (ugh again), Semien.

Leaning to Yainer as he seems to have found his stroke.

Thoughts? Advice?
Brent Hershey
12:25
  1. Valdez/Woo/Buehler/Ga. Williams/ May
  2. Assuming the first Diaz is Yandy, that's where I'd go. Has picked things up in the past week.

Hey hey it’s almost May. Active roster decisions this week: Who for 2b: Luisangel Acuna or India? Who for 3b: India, Hayes, Keith or Jung? Who for P: 2-start Heaney or play it safe with 5 game Estrada? Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:27
2B: India
3B (assuming Jung is Jace; Josh the answer if not): Hayes
Our numbers on Heaney like him this week for both.

So I've got Ragans and Sanchez both lined up to start for my H2H points team this week and both banged up. Rosters lock ahead of each team's first game. What are you doing with them this week? I have at least one viable alternative.
Brent Hershey
12:30
Neither is great, obv, but I'd lean towards Sanchez if I had to pick just one. Even if they push him back to the weekend.

If you get news that Ragans is a go for Wed, then I'd probably keep him in, but sit if there's nothing.

Hey Brent, please rank these hitters for rest of season and next year: Kurtz ATH, Greene DET, Reynolds PIT, K.Campbell BOS. I need to drop 2. Thanks.
Brent Hershey

ROS: Campbell, Greene, Kurtz, Reynolds
2026: Campbell, Kurtz, Greene, Reynolds

5x5 NL only league. Best bet for ROS power production - M. Togila, N. Marte, or N. Gorman? Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:32
Straight power and nothing else? Toglia, though I am interested in Gorman. Marte prob the best overall player, but others best him in power

Good morning!!  Is Ben Casparius a logical replacement for Glasnow in the rotation?  If so, what do we have here?
Brent Hershey
12:34
Hard to know, but def a case to be made. So far so good is what we have, but I (we?) were also excited about Landon Knack, Emmett Sheehan, River Ryan, etc etc etc. at one point. Interested because it's the Dodgers, but also wary because ... it's the Dodgers and the health track record is sketchy.

Hi Brent. For this week, who is your preferred streaming hitter: Manzardo (CLE 7 games vR), Friedl, Steer, or Lux (CIN 7 at home)? Mainly focused on this week but would also be interested if you think any are viable longer-term holds. 12-team 5x5 OBP.
Brent Hershey
12:35
Manzardo; Lux as a #2. Feel like Manzardo the best longer-term, too.

12:36
As always - thanks for these chats! NL 10 team 5x5 - how much FAAB would you bid on A Pages (we have $100 for the year - C Durbin went for $20 but only one team went to double digits for him)
Brent Hershey
12:36
Low single digits, probably 10-12 range. Should be a good pickup in an NL-only.
Bob
12:38
Do you see Roupp and Wesneski as holds in a 14 team league?
Brent Hershey
12:38
Too early to tell. Somewhat encouraged by both, but neither has gone through a whole MLB season as a SP. Right now, would slightly prefer Wesneski if had to pick one of the two (which you didn't ask me to do, of course!).
JK
12:41
Aayyooo! Otto Lopez and Nolan Gorman were both dropped in my 16 teamer. Either of the worth dropping Angel Martinez or Colt Keith for?
Brent Hershey
12:41
Probably holding onto Martinez, just to see what we have there. I've jumped the Keith ship myself in a couple places this week, as I wonder how much rope DET is going to give — given Tork's resurgence, Baez's surprising usefulness, Gleyber holding his own, etc. I'd lean Gorman, though right now, Lopez's PT is probably more secure. But that changes the instant Arenado goes (if he goes).

Have A. Hays or Nimmo for LF.
Brent Hershey

Hays, easily. Career year incoming in CIN.

How likely is Owen Caissie going to be moved for pitching help for the Cubs this season?
