Hello, Alexandros. How are you today? How may I assist?
Alexandros Tzalavras

I am currently finishing my application. I have requested that GRE and IELTS official scores sent to you, however i dont think they will arrive today. Probably later this week. Will that render my application invalid even if i submit the online application today?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
8:07
No, as long as we have all the other materials and you took the exams by today, that's fine. It may take a little longer for your application to be ready for review, but that's ok.
8:08
Please note that we don't accept electronic IELTS scores, we have to receive the physical copy in the mail.

thank you very much. i have requested the british council to mail the official scores to you on last Monday. one final question. are the 1000 words for the statement of purpose a hard limit? also are there any other requirements concerning font, size etc?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist

Alexandros, that's great to hear. And we don't have a hard limit on the personal statement. We recommend no more than 2 pages, 3 at the absolute longest. But everything else is up to you.

I know today is the deadline for PhD applications, But can you please answer master's questions too. Regarding Data Science and engineering?
I have a question for the master's application. It is clearly mentioned that the TOEFL requirement is waived if medium of teaching is "English". It is written on the transcripts. Then is it necessary to send the official TOEFL scores via ETS?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
8:32
Ani, thanks for your question. If this is listed on the transcripts then you don't need to submit TOEFL scores. Your requirement would be waived by us after you submit your application and we review your application materials.

AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist

You do not need to if the medium of instruction is English.

How much importance is given to GRE and GPA during admissions (MS in DSE)?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist

Does DSE provide TA/RA? Does it include financial aid/stipend?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
8:52
Ani, there may be opportunities for TA/RA, but you must have completed at least one semester in good academic standing to apply. We do not provide financial aid for master's students.

I have two official transcripts, one is issued by the college which covers every detail regarding GPA calculation, my GPA for all 4 years, and overall GPA and CGPA. And the other one is issued by the degree-granting university. Which only contains marks from all 4 years and their total. Which one should I upload in the application?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
8:53
Ani, we definitely need the first. Which one shows proof of degree - confirming that you were awarded the degree you earned?
Ani
8:56
on both the transcripts it is mentioned that I have received "bachelor of engineering"
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
8:56
Ok. In that case, you should just be able to use the first one. If we require additional materials, we can reach out to you.
Ani

hi i have one more question. i have not yet received a degree so i requested an unofficial transcript by the secretariat of my department which i had translated by an attorney. will that suffice for review purposes? in addition, this transcript does not contain details concerning my upcoming degree type. should i include one page where i personally expain the degree and the info about the program?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
9:00
Alexandros, that shouldn't be necessary. However, if you would like to do so, we recommend explaining it either in notation on your resume/cv or in the personal statement. We are familiar with most types of degrees that a student may be awarded.

The professor I had worked with during my final year has left the institution. However, he is willing to provide me a letter of recommendation along with the letterhead from his current institution. He will be using his official email ID of his current institution. is it okay?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist

Yes, that is fine.
